The lead singer is NOT Russell Thomkins Jr.......Russell still sings with the "New Stylistics" and sounds like the original......

This guys is ok....but he will never be Russell. Check out the New Stylistics and you'll see what I'm talking about.

"stone'= dazed, out of mind, like when someone take drugs they get "stoned" So in the song " stone in love with you" = I am so much in love with you that I am out of my mind, or crazy in love with you.

However I never associated this lyric with getting stoned because this group Never included any drug references in any of their lyrics. Rather its probably just Black talk. In this case meaning solidly in love with you. Us Black folks appropriate language like this all the time.

Growing up in the mid-late sixties in northern Ohio the word "stone" was a "slang" term that meant "for real" or "for sure".
