@Leisurecruise They're playing the song in the key of G. The normal version is in Bb by using a capo on the 3rd fret. Here, there is no capo. Was it to suit Noel? Maybe, maybe not. I think Noel would've been totally capable of doing it if you consider that the highest notes in the original version are in the same neighbourhood as the high notes Noel sings in The Importance of Being Idle and Live Forever. Who cares though, it's not every day you see two rock and roll legends playing together.

To be fair, Queen's "Greatest Hits (vol 1)" is the best ever selling album in the UK (5.4 million copies) followed by the Beatles' "Sgt Peppers" (4.8 million) then Oasis. Regarding "Wonderwall" being hailed as one the greatest song of all time is a bit subjective as it never hit #1 in the UK. Oasis does have 8 #1 singles in the UK, whereas Weller only has 4 #1 singles. Weller's success has been over a long period of time compared to Noel's relatively short career. Let see where he is in 5 yrs

As for the longevity of Weller vs Noel...you can hardly discount Noel just because he is younger than Weller. He'll always be younger than Weller. But Noel has been active in the music business for over 15 years now. Long enough that most would consider him established...he's not going away.
