This isn't Mario Paint Composer. This is an actual Mario Paint game. MP Composer is just a MIDI sequencer with a MP soundfont. It's nothing like MP, since it adds sharps, flats, and the ability to hold a note longer than one beat, thus taking all the skill out of arranging around these limitations, which is what I find so endearing about TomBobBlender's work.

But you still fail for lack of research and/or talking out of your ass. Last time I checked, MPC doesn't have sustain when using the original soundfont, as many of its users still do.

1st, MPC isn't skill-less, it just requires less skill then the original because of 5 notes instead of 3, sharps and flats are included, and you can change the volume of notes..

2nd, MPC has more sustain then the original... barely.

You equate having more flexibility (the ability to use more notes) with making an arrangement easier. It is in fact more difficult -- it gives less excuse to cut out things like background arpeggios or a quiet countermelody, things that wouldn't be missed. You have to do MORE work, not less, and by my book, that makes it MORE of an exercise in musical skill.

And actually, when the normal soundfont is used, the MIDI samples are exactly the same... so no, there IS no added sustain.

You're actually totally right. In his older videos TomBobBlender did a much better job staying true to the originals. These newer vids he's been making are way too remix-y. All the extra notes thrown in make it hard to hear the original song. I have no clue why people are voting you down on this, I'd vote you back up.

This is still an awesome vid, awesome song, not dissing TomBob. It's just not AS awesome as his older ones and could be better.

This is a tough piece - but amazing work on getting all the background harmonies and beats in behind the melody! MP, as you have shown, is deceptively restrictive - recording and splicing technologies in movie making software allow a song to be longer than 24 4/4 or 32 3/4 measures, and you're taking amazing advantage of it!
