Great Golf for the Sega Master System was the golf game I grew up on. It was fun and this looks fun too, never played it though. As a Golf fan, I always found video golf games appealing.

this game is actually pretty good considering when it came out. Putting is hard, but isn't it the most important part of real golf? (yes it is in case u don't know) Also the arrows on the green indicate which way the ball will break so you can actually read the green, and like real golf, it isn't an exact science but a feel, which is another great aspect of this game. I can play this game and shoot -4 and the very next round shoot +10 very easily. Still gr8 fun to play today.

@canag0d Oh and BTW, if you find a spot in the game where the flag is in the middle of the where the arrow points, you have to curve he the ball. you miss the accuracy to the right or left deepening on the bend you need. So like I say this game is pretty good. The one gripe I have with it is you get no yardage markers. To a non golfer, that means they don't tell you how far you have left to the green. But after a few games you will remember the yardage approximately.

I just noticed something! some of those gold maps are the same as the golf game in Wii Sports. Sure the nes is not 3d like the wii but look at the layouts of some of the maps! and the minimaps of the ones on Wii Sports! I can see they remade this game for the wii!

i actually liked this game for gameboy, logged soo many hours on it, since i golfed alot when i was young. once you get the putting down then yeah, it was pretty fun game...i doubt i would want it for my nes at the time.

Not even lying, I found this game in a puddle on the way home from school. Back in 94

completely submerged, and muddy.

I let it dry for a week, cleaned it, and it worked.

I still own it till this very day, still works too!

I think I've played this one a long, long time ago. I liked these old golf-games but I hate how some try to be so realistic that it renders them unplayable (there's this Mario one for the NES I tried on VC).

Seems Nintendo recycled some of the courses for the Golf game in Wii Sports. That could potentially be my favorite golf-game of all time but it sadly only has nine holes (three for each skill level).

Golf does seem to have that trait of "either you'll love it, or hate it with every fiber of your being - neutrality is impossible". But that could just be me.

Anyway, personally, not a big fan of golf. Unless it's in the form of mini-golf, which can be amusing; Happy Gilmore, because Adam Sandler nailed that part; or a game like Hot Shots or Kirby's Dream Course. (Okay, maybe Kirby's Dream Course is more like mini-golf, but close enough anyway.)

I'm surprised you didn't mention how it doesn't tell you how far away you are from the hole and how far you can hit each club. The entire game is literally a giant guessing game. Which sucks because if you need to use the 7 iron and you use the 5 iron, guess what, you're out of bounds. Great game. I played this game all the time. Loved it and hated it.
