  • @spottedfeather the commercial is actually from 1985; because someone else who posted this commercial in its uncut version actually has comments from the actress who plays the mom and she says it first aired the day after Thanksgiving 1985

  • I drink about 8 cups of coffee everyday.nothing beats folgers

  • This is sad, there's more warmth and heart and feeling in this coffee ad than there is in most modern movies.

  • I miss this commercial. The "newer" is ok, but it can't top this one.

  • One of my favourite things about older Christmas commercials was the magical music. Those were clearly happier times. As this ad shows, people said "Merry Christmas" with joy. Today people roll their eyes when they hear that, and wonder if they should say "happy holidays" instead, and they grumble about Christmas "stress".

  • Everywhere I've seen this commercial, it was 1982. Where's your proof ?

  • @Spottedfeather Hi Spottedfeather: Guess what! I found that retro Bell Canada ad right here on youtube. Don't ask me what I did, I just came across it one day. I have it stored on my computer, so if you haven't come across it yet, and would like to see it, just let me know and I'll upload it. Btw, it's just as wonderful as I remember it.

  • @tsjrlover Sure. Post away.

  • This commercial was shot in 1986.

  • @randydeluxe 1982

  • of course the little girl was up to meet peter....she's still jacked up from last night's cup of folgers.

or maybe from a fat bowl of crystal she found in mom n dads' stash that she smoked.

    just an observation.

  • No, not really. I'm pretty sure that it's either a Folgers or a Maxwell House Ad. But don't quote me. It went something like this. A boy was vacationing in I think it was France (wherever Dieppe is). And he was on the phone with his grandfather and told him he was in France. The grandfather replied by saying something like "Ah, checking out all the pretty girls huh?", to which the grandson replied "No, actually Grandpa, I'm in Dieppe, & "I just called to say thanks ". It was beautiful.

  • I did some searching and the ad you're looking for is for Bell Canada, a telephone and internet company in Canada. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a copy of the commercial. We're not the only ones that love that commercial, as I saw it mentioned on several different websites !

  • Hey, thanks so much for responding. And thanks for checking it out. I guess we'll both just have to keep hoping that it shows up eventually. Boy, I was way off on the product they were selling huh? Don't know where I got the coffee idea from. But again, thanks for responding.

  • Let me know if you ever find it !

  • I sure will.

  • No. It is definately a Bell Canada commercial. Just do a search.

  • I have been looking for this ad. It's one of my all-time favorite ads ever. My absolute favorite was another coffee ad. It was a teenage boy who was vacationing in France, and he called his Grandfather to thank him for his service when he was in the war. Does anyone out there have this ad? I'd love to see it.

  • Do you know what company the ad was for ? That would really help me in looking for the ad.

  • Where did Peter come home from?

That was a touching commerical back when people would say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays.

  • OH amen to that!!! It's SO ridiculous how the simple MERRY CHRISTMAS greeting is actually controversial now!!! It's really sad...and depraved...I say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  • love this commercial too. very warm.

  • Michael Love plays the part of Peter...add him as a friend on Facebook!

  • The most memorable Folgers commercial thanks KP!

  • Thought it was seasonable! lol

  • Thanks for posting. This was always a favorite of mine.

  • It's Peter! My sister and I was talking about this last year. I haven't seen this in years. Thanks for posting it.

  • It's fantastic. I swear, I cried seeing it again.

  • I have always loved this commercial too. I remember when it came out in the early 80's and always think that it is not Christmas until they play this commercial. Every once in a while they may play it on tv (not like they used to). This is the kind of commercial we still need to tv. To show the importance of family. This commercial makes me cry, I just love it. Thank you for posting this.

  • Oh my gosh! I LOVED this commercial... It was being shown in the early 90s, when I was a little kid and we taped all the Christmas specials... this is an essential part of my holidays. Thank you! :)
