I have no idea regarding the credibility of either fellow here, or the integrity of eithers institutions, but the guy on the right, Stein, completely smeared Mr Nowrasteh. I think that a lot of people watching this interview will believe that Alex has nefarious intentions and his argument is insincere. And maybe he does, but these stupid 4 minute long debates do not lend themselves to dissecting an issue. They're just about who can throw the most mud. Also the host was useless, they usually are.

People who hire illegal immigrants under the table, are going to continue to hire illegal immigrants under the table, with or with out the new ID cards. I own a business, and I've worked under the table once, and from both sides I can't see one single way this would change anything.

True. Illegals meet the need for cheap and generally unskilled labor for business. Our big problems are free healthcare and free schooling for illegals kids. If those policies didn't exist for them then it wouldn't be so attractive to come here with a family or to start a family while here. @chillichomper Oh I agree that the healthcare and other incentives for them to come here is the problem, along with everyone else who abuses the welfare state. It just seems to me that the card is aimed at business owners who want to hire americans, but cant tell the difference. All I was pointing out is, that in the video the guy talked like this will fix everything, but illegal immigrants are hired off the books, and the card only addresses workers hired on the books

@chillichomper That's exactly how far we have become here in Denmark and other European countries. We don't have problems with just illegal immigrants but also legal immigrants. There are too many. The U.S. is still the most welcoming country in the world for foreigners, but that will change when the welfare state is collapsing and there isn't enough production from the very rich capitalists who long have fled to other countries. And not just immigrants, but citizens living on welfare.
