I think I'm gonna buy this car. I love my Jeep Cherokee but now that I'm in the city I just can't afford to get 17 MPG anymore. Plus I don't think I'll be doing any off roading any time soon.
i had the accord, crv and civic.i have this car now.i love it.the seats fold down and you can put lots of cargo(like drum sets,amps,etc... or sleep in the back haha)gas is good and the handling is great.
YES! Listen to this obvious Republican Palin supporter and make the domestic and foreign oil companies even richer by handing over not some of your paychequ but ALL of it. Bush needs to suplement his pension in January somehow. Hey, maybe they will even throw in a free shotgun with the purchase of your gas hog so that you can go out with you beer guzzling redneck buddies and shoot at things! It will look great at the trailer park!
Hahaha, Fuck politics. It does not matter who gets elected. They are all fucking liars anyways. This country has already been fucked up. You think little 4 cylinder and electric cars are going to save the planet? Hahahaha get a fucking clue! We have a fuck load of oil but it is the tree huggers who don't want us to drill. Go spew your political bullshit to someone who gives a fuck.
I love it! If you really want to go faster then you could either add a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust or suck it up and put a lot more gas through something else. Sure you might get better milage out of a diesel but diesels are not exactly maintenance free and hybrids cost about twice as much.
I drive a 10yr old V8 BMW530iT which I love but... the gas price went up again today- and it'll keep going up. Just guzzles the gas! I'm seriously thinking of swallowing my pride and trading in the bimmer for one of these. Is the fit large enough for a young family of 3 for city driving? 30mpg sounds insane regardless of what size the tank is. Fit drivers: how's the mileage against competitors like Versa, Yaris and diesel VW? 5-10yrs everyone will be in a hybrid or one of these.
its very big lol, lots of room! i go camping in the summer with my family (we are 4) and we have space for all are tents and food and all, very good, about gas, well its very good too (in my opinion) my sister has a yaris, trust me, the honda fit is way better.
its really nice and elegent, the radio is nice and the color is like a gray kinda ting very nice lol i love my fit, i never had any problemes with it and i hope this helps!
idont really have one but i found out that the honda fit gets about 28mpg average. Plus, its 5 horsepower (o wow) stronger than yaris or the others. But still, its actually more liek a civic.
because its like a fricken grandma car turned into a civic-like hatchback. and, even better it is honda so you can expect it to be better than a lot. plus, have you noticed gas lately? its like... wtf man $60 to fill up a fricken car. so thats why i would like it.
Thanks for the review. I've been considering one of these and this helps my decision. I think its a stretch to ding it on tank size all vehicles this class have 10 to 13 gal tanks. Could anyone comment on this vehicle's passing capabilities (40 to 70mph range)? Please reply if so. I'm assuming its not a down right slug in manual trim - just like to hear some real life experiences.
passing abilities are fine on the fit. i have a stick shift so if i needed to do some serious passing when crusing under 3K RPM i would downshift. also, at 70 mph on a stick shift you'd be at around 3.5K RPM as manual trannys are geared differently than the autos. at that RPM i don't really need to downshift in order to find power for passing.
as for the automatic tranny i can't comment on that. maybe those paddles shifters would help.
Im thinking about getting one here in Puerto Rico. But the Manual Transmission. Now, question. For how long the fuel last with a full tank? A week or week and half?
the fuel tank is only 10.8 gallons so it gets depleted quicker than one would expect. i get about 32 mpg mostly city/some highway but it seems like i get worse economy than that because of the small tank. how long the fuel would last really depends on your style of driving.
I think it just depends on what you are looking for. If you live in a rural area or have a long commute, I can't think this car would suit your needs very well.
But I live in San Francisco and really love how versatile the Fit car is. I can park anywhere, squeeze past bigger cars in tight traffic.
It's zippy and very fun to drive and the gas mileage is very decent.
It's also surprising how much stuff you can lug around in it.
honda fit is cute but the horse power is terrible 109hp sucks .... i hate to say this but the truth is toyota matrix is better than the honda fit no hard feelings honda because i have a honda fit thats why ....
Yes the Matrix has better performance but is a much larger vehicle and on paper is far worse mpg wise. Pick and choose - power or economy. You'll also pay 5k+ more for the Matrix. I also looked into the Matrix vs the Fit.
i have a honda fit.. it's great! i have fixed it up a lot! i put a lot of decals on it.. it looks sporty.. i reccomend the fit SPORT! not the regular one.. its really roomy and it's cool.. i have the orange one.. i recommend getting the windows tinted too! i have the automatic yet i can shift too with the paddles.. and the breaks are good too! good luck! ya and the whole gas thing is pretty true.. but it's good on gas..
it takes about 30 bucks to fill it up.. thats at 3.20 a gal.. around there.. but that will last us a week and a couple days only because we commute 70 miles everyday. the most we paid to ever have to fill it up was around 40 and that was when gas prices were around 3.80's ish.
We have kept detailed mileage records on ours since new. It made 40 on one tank as a high, coming south out of Rapid City SD back to Kansas, all highway, mostly downhill. The low was 20 mpg pulling a stiff cross wind and three inches of blowing snow. It is a great car to drive, amazingly good ride on the road and handles like a go cart in town. They could have called it the zip, as it is great for city errands. Ours is the sport, a great little car! We run 80mph on the Interstate, not babied...
i love my orange fit sport, went to naples florida from south bend indiana 2 times already and only filled up 2 times on the way down, compared to my mazda tribute which we filled up 4 times on average, oo and has a faster lane change speed than a ferrari F430, beat that scion POS!
apperently you dont get out much, look at car and drivers comparo and look at the lane change test they performed, they siad themselves that it had a greater lange change speed than the italian ferrari f430, no joke asshole, do some reasearch and fine it for yourself, you will be dissapointed.
yes, car and driver magazine said that fit sport is faster than F430 spider at the lane changing test on several occasions, including when the fit made it to one of the top ten cars of the year.
This is a great video for a great car. I own the Silver Storm Metallic 5-speed manual sport model. I've owned everything from a 1965 Mustang to a 1978 Datsun 280-Z. This car is more fun to drive than either one, and I'm averaging over 35 MPG in mostly city driving. Enjoy the video, then take the car for a test drive. You just might like it.
m8, how can the jazz/fit be more fun to drive than the stang??? I mean, I know the Fit is a great car (I'm even considering getting one, so don't think I'm a small car hater lol), but it's not even close to those when it comes to power, handling... not to mention looks and charisma :)
The Mustang, with a 4bbl carb, got only 12 MPG in the city, and while it was fun to go through the gears, and lay rubber in all four, it attracted a lot of attention, and I got a lot of tickets; so that enjoyment was very costly. The Fit corners and handles very well, but it's 5-speed MT allows you to wind out the gears (when you want to) and avoid the very expensive tickets). So, for me, the speeds are less, but the enjoyment is more.
many pit stops? duh they were definately not running it til it was out of gas then

The Mustang, with a 4bbl carb, got only 12 MPG in the city, and while it was fun to go through the gears, and lay rubber in all four, it attracted a lot of attention, and I got a lot of tickets; so that enjoyment was very costly. The Fit already out slaloms a Mustang. Add some UHP tires to a Fit and with the light weight, you can hit some ridiculous corner speeds.
