There are shit suburbs in any city. I've stayed in the CBD of both and I like Melbourne much more. I like the cold and the wind because it's a change to the humidity and warmth in Brisbane where I live. Melbourne seems more motorcycle friendly, traffic is less mental and it has a more unique culture to it.
