  • yall need to watch the movie with Olivia Newton-John title "Xanadu" 1980. watch it has a lot of music by ELO that you have not heard.

  • YES IRONCITYDEVILDOG SOME GREAT FRIENDS WITH SO MUCH TALENT

  • I've been a fan of ELO since the 70's and I only found this song a few years ago when I purchased the "Flashback" 3 CD collection which also includes other songs that were not on any other album, it also includes more recent unfinished tracks. Jeff Lynne and ELO are musical legends throughout. Check out the Travelling Wilbury's too.

  • @DJPaulgee1 Just for info's sake, this wasn't a song that wasn't on any other album, in the sense of some old track just released for the first time. I believe Jeff re-recorded the song with him singing just for the Flashback collection release. This was recorded around 1999, about the time that album was released.

  • @ekh714 Thanks 4 for posting the great spaceship rendering of the only E.L.O. logo that matters. Why they changed it at all, I'll never understand(The great Balance of Power album for example. No Wurlitzer style symbol at all!). The Lynne version of the song is my personal fave as well(ONJ is a great talent, I just like Lynne's stuff BEST). But, Ekh714, I'm afraid you're statement, "It was the only JL compotition feature on the 1980 'Xanadu' soundtrack...etc." is in-accurate. He did 5 songs!

  • @ekh714 This song is not on any other elo album except "Xanadu" which is OLJ singing it. I have every album (including greatest hits) albums and flashback is the only album that contains Jeff's version.

  • @DJPaulgee1 Correct. Chad Draven is also correct: I'm Alive, Don't Walk Away, All Over the World and another which name escapes me and ofcourse he wrote Xanadu and backed it vocally.

  • @Velocity9s The other song is called "The Fall"

  • @DJPaulgee1 Thanks for your comments.

However, read what I wrote again. "It was the only Jeff Lynne composition [on Xanadu soundtrack]... SUNG BY Olivia Newton-John". Lynne sang the other four, and the first side of the album weren't Lynne compositions.

    ;)

  • @ekh714 Ah...much clearer.

  • @Velocity9s Let me be more specific, too. Ah, Your post/reply to @DJPaulgee1 is much clear(er).

  • I like both versions, but I prefer this one, Olivia made it sound great for her, even the backing vocals were an octave higher but great job on both versions Jeff and company

  • E.L.O.thank you for the music

    Jeff Lynne simply the best

  • @teddybears9 Look at who his friends are!!!!! He was a Wilbury!!!!! GEORGE HARRISON, ROY ORBISON, BOB DYLAN, and TOM PETTY!!!!!!! Of course he is one of the best!!!!!
