  • Hi Bratschenmeister - I took your video of Gavotte by Jean Becker, and move it into iMovie on my MAC. I am able to watch and listen to you play frame by frame. I just wanted to let you know it is really helping me with learning this piece. Thank you very much for sharing your musical talent with all of us. :)

  • its very good

  • Thank you.

  • very well done. and you are the first person i have seen doing this partially in 3rd position, and same with me. I am guessing you use the Suzuki "Revised Edition"?

  • Yes. I use the revised edition.

  • dang u realy good

  • Thanks.

  • are you playing it in a different key? i know it would be lower because its viola. in my book it starts on d on the a string. on the viola wouldn't it start on g d string. it sounds like you starting on d then the second note d sharp. awesome!!

  • You are correct. Most of the viola pieces are a fifth lower than the violin, however a few are in the same key. This piece, as well as the Bach Gavotte in g minor are an octave below the violin. The Beethoven minuet is actually in the same key and the same octave requiring the violist to shift to the third position at times.

  • In my book it starts on a D on the A string. How fun!

  • You are probably playing this on violin. Violin and viola can perform this piece together since they are in the same key.

  • Hi,can the viola fingerboard be closer to the camera?,Thank

  • Thanks for your comment. My idea was to position the camera so that my entire upper body is visible. If I zoom in on the fingerboard, viewers won't get the whole picture. I realize that the way I have it set up, viewers really can't see everything I'm doing with my left hand fingers; however, if I zommed in, viewers wouldn't be able to see my posture and bow movements.

  • Awesome! Congrats! =D

  • Thanks.

  • I play the suzuki on my flute =D

Now Im gonna watch all your videos =D

Keep the good work, I'm sure you re helping a lot of ppl!
