@KingRedRichard He's a sorcerer. If I was a sorcerer, I would certainly use my magic to turn the sky overcast when I seized power. It looks really badass. I mean, can you even imagine inaugurating a reign of tyranny and black magic on a pleasant sunny afternoon?

As for the snow, Aladdin probably got launched as far north as Siberia. Jafar seems like he's been in charge for several days at least by the time Aladdin gets back, even with the flying carpet.

As many audiences are captivated in movies by underdogs previeling, you need someone to convey the villian as superior in every way...what better nation then than the once great and mighty British Empire!
