It's how you handle the refusal not the refusal itself. Here is a choice one should make before signing a major league contract. .......If I am very successful people will constantly be asking for autographs. It's a fact of life. Should I sign the contract or not? So if you know that going in just deal with it in a classy way..... Jeter You are not a God. Handle it the same way Bernie, Grandy, Yogi, Swisher or Texiera would have handled it. Maybe that's why Mikka dropped him for a nice guy.

Derek Jeter isn't a jerk at all. Realize that like some previous comments said, he gets asked to do this all the time. Hes a celebrity he cant go anywhere public without being stormed by 100 people asking to get a signature. If i was him i probably wouldn't have signed it either.
