  • @Dem00th

I am 11 (oh man I say this much too often looks like I'm spamming) and TOTAL Queen fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Freddie <3<3

  • @Dem00th is this a competition? cause in 2001 I was 11 and queen fan as well!

  • i have a question, why he says: "she tells me she don't love me" it should be "she tells me she doesn't love me"

sorry i'm learnig English, and i just know that with he, she or it, you should use "does", but i don't know!

  • I'm just 13 and I'm learning English too. I think you should use does, but it's just a song.

  • Many thanks for your uploads Fritzes.

  • @Fritzes007

    I think it's because "tells" has already a 's'.......just a guess

  • @Fritzes007 its actually not proper English he's singing in that lyric. But sometimes artists try to be cute with a lyric to add some personality to the song.

  • Comment removed

  • @Fritzes007 Just like in French: It is better to say: "Elle n'm'aime pas." than "Elle ne me m'aime pas." In some cases.

  • @185479623 In French, even though it's grammatically incorrect, when we talk we say "elle m'aime pas" , but it should be "elle NE m'aime pas" when written.

But again, it's just a song, so grammar doesn't really matter :P

  • @DrMaybrianna Just a mistake. =)

  • @Fritzes007 It's not just a song, it's magic ! :3

  • "doesnt" is sometimes to long for the text of a song, There are many songs where people put dont instead of doesent.

  • yeah he just uses dont to make it sound better

  • @Juanescombro

you write very well in English so far. great job. :)

sometimes songwriters make grammatical "errors" on purpose because of the construction of the song. "doesn't" is two syllables, where "don't" is one syllable and although it is bad grammar, it gives the same meaning (no more love from her) and goes with the rhythm of the song.

other times songwriters just use bad grammar because that's their writing style.

    i hope that helps.

  • @Juanescombro obviously u're learning English, but not listening to it enough. when u hear enough you'll understand.

  • @Juanescombro You're right, it should be 'doesn't', but sometimes people use don't depending on where they live and sometimes as an affectation. In this case it may be to make the lyrics fit with the beat of the song. 'my baby does me' isn't really correct either (it is a colloquial phrase), but it is acceptable to use incorrect English in certain situations (such as in a song)

  • @Juanescombro Yeah, probabily should be "does", but this is still a song. Poetry and music dont tend to be the best places to learn proper grammar.. they tend to mold it to thier liking. Its art, not english clas..

  • @Juanescombro It's not necessary in a song. As long as it fits to the melody it doesn't matter.

  • @Juanescombro in one part of Great britain, it is permanent in speech, i've heard, but it's just coloquial speech, exactly i don't know, im not from UK

  • @Juanescombro

Yeah it should be 'does' but it's always like that in songs because otherwise it wouldn't fit

  • @Juanescombro

In music, proper english rules aren't used all the time. He used "don't" cause it fit better with the beat and the roll of the music.

  • @Juanescombro I know thet this post was made 2 years ago, but about does doesn't, in the songs writters doesn't care about grammar.

  • @Juanescombro I'm just 12 and I'm learning English too and I think you should use does but it's just a song =)

  • @Juanescombro I always thought the same as you... but he just said that in a different way

  • @Juanescombro don't is slang english, and it's only a song

  • @Jua

iam english and so is john so being a educated man of england i think he knows so just enjoy the music

  • @Juanescombro he says "don't" instead of "doesn't" because it fits with the rythm of this song... it's quite common in lots of English and American songs! But remember not to use she/he DON'T in your English tests, it should be a problem =)

    by a 20-year-old Queen's fan

  • @Juanescombro You're right, it should be doesn't, but often don't was used in music.

  • @Juanescombro Ok boy...try to use, singing it of course, "tells me she doesn't love me" without going out of tune in this song.... What I'm trying to tell you is that they had to brake the grammatical rule you pointed out before in order to make it sound harmoniously, get it? otherwise it would have sounded weird...have you heard the Beatles' song "Ticket to Ride"? They say "she's gotta ticket to right but she don't care" for the same reason, beacause it sounded much better that way!

  • @killingracists

    Ticket to right???

  • @spacecowboy7580 sorry, "ticket to ride"...got my facts straight... :)
