It got totaled and my dad then bought a used 2000 Ford Ranger to replace it. We then leased a 2008 Nissan Altima which I liked so much better than the Accord. Except for the CVT, which got annoying. If you want to support a Japanese car company support Nissan/Infiniti! Honda is ok too, but depends!

Maybe 208 but it goes like 7 sec 0-60 mph and if that aint enough, I will catch the next flight instead. NO prob's with it. Put over 100g mi. on the Camry and nothing above normal maintenance. Buddy had a BMW 535 and put 250,000 mi on it, never had more than a tuneup.. Tuneup over $500, but it's a stress-free machine

Monroes lasted to 55,000 mi. when I sold it. Next car '73 Cutlass w the 455. Nice car for 12,000 miles then the wheel cylinder went. Nice... 2 years later the door doesn't open/close right. Then the key doesn't work good. Inside door handle loose after 2 years.

@idontcare80 you should go back and look at them ratings again. the cars are listed in ALPHABETICAL order. as far as midsize cars honda was the winner with the ford fusion running a very close second. i own a fusion, and after looking at all midsize cars, the fusion was the best deal i found. so far, i have had 60,000 trouble free miles and counting.

@aaronjam99 The Fusion is such a good car, because it's almost identical to the Mazda6. Ford borrowed heavily from it's Japanese subsidary Mazda when constructing the Fusion. That's why it's such a good vehicle, they can use higher quality parts and materials and not have to pay for ridiculous UAW wages.

From the day a GM is sold to a customer brand new, I wouldn't give it more than 3 years before needing serious repair. Where as Hondas are running like champs with little to no care from their owners. I have seen early 90s Hondas with the same alternator and transmission they were sold with, still rockin and rollin.

You people aren't too bright. When you buy a car from Toyota, even if they do have some american factories, the revenue from that transaction goes to Toyota in Japan. It stimulates their economy, not ours. Someday if (God forbid) shit hits the fan and there is a large war, it is American car factories that pump out all of our supplies. Um, my Pontiac was made in California, my mom's GMC was made in Oklahoma, my dad's Cadillac was made in Michigan. My uncle's Toyota was made in Japan, my aunts BMW was made in Germany..... Well I drive a Chevy Aveo and it has been the best car I have every drove.. and a Subrau and Nissan is the other two..
I have had a Ford Escort and a Ford Aerostar and both was nothing but junk..
The heads crack easily on a Ford Escort and the Aerostar throw the flywheels in the transmission..
So I haven't had no problems with GM.. And GM has paid back everyting back plus more..
I would have anything else.. A Honda and a Toyota you pay a Arm and A Leg and a Head for the parts..

For every auto worker (production line worker) 4 jobs are created in the united states from that 1 worker. @jjakabigb Yeah Ford is crappy, that's why they are number 5 in the quality ratings and the highest rated GM brand is number 13 (Cadillac). That's three spots below the industry average, BTW. Also, GMC is all the way down at number 25 and that's only 8 spots from being at the dead bottom!

@idontcare80 you should go back and look at them ratings again. the cars are listed in ALPHABETICAL order. as far as midsize cars honda was the winner with the ford fusion running a very close second. i own a fusion, and after looking at all midsize cars, the fusion was the best deal i found. so far, i have had 60,000 trouble free miles and counting.

@aaronjam99 The Fusion is such a good car, because it's almost identical to the Mazda6. Ford borrowed heavily from it's Japanese subsidary Mazda when constructing the Fusion. That's why it's such a good vehicle, they can use higher quality parts and materials and not have to pay for ridiculous UAW wages.

All these people are talking about workers and manufacturing plants.....the cars SUCK. From the day a GM is sold to a customer brand new, I wouldn't give it more than 3 years before needing serious repair. Where as Hondas are running like champs with little to no care from their owners. I have seen early 90s Hondas with the same alternator and transmission they were sold with, still rockin and rollin.
Good luck finding a GM owner who can say that.

The DOE loan wasn't a bailout - it was to advance hybrid and EV programs.
Pontiac and Oldsmobile are both gone, and Hummer was sold to the Chinks.
Ford has sold most of its stake in Mazda.
Saturn was a division of GM, not Ford.
What does GM produce that's fuel-efficient? Don't say the Cruze or the Aveo - they're both rebadged Daewoos.

GM has gone way down hill. GM used to make decent cars but not anymore. After they became Government Motors i lost all respect. my brother has a 200X SS monte carlo and already had to replace his tranny twice (first replacement was a piece of shit and didnt work right). It also burns oil like crazy. Ford all the way. My 98 mustang GT runs better than most of new GM cars.

Accident death rates show that mid size cars (and larger) are actually safer than big trucks because they have such a high tendency to roll over.

Chevy received $52 billion from the US government in bailout money but has only paid back $6.7 billion. How then is this being reported as "repayment in full 5 years ahead of schedule?" Only $6.7 billion was technically considered to be a loan. The rest of it was the government buying GM stock when it was falling like a rock and no one else would. The government's decision to ignore contract law and blowout the bondholders GM owed money to also helped.
