I saw this last night over Oakland Oregon at about 7:30pm. It moved aslowly across the sky till I lost site. It was NOT a plane or a helicopter or a chinese lantern or a satellite or any other recognizable thing! WTF was it????
@palk47 The first time (didn't have my camera with me that night) it was a solid red light with what looked like a flashing red light beside it. The only way to describe it is if you were looking at a car's park light with a red signal light flashing at the same intensity right next to it. Of course all this while moving silently across the sky over Burnaby. It's hard to explain. Is that close to what you saw?
Does anyone have video editing software that can analyze this? You know, software to stabilize and zoom in. Wish I had my HD camera that night but it's stored in a box 4 provinces east.
@xlla On October 30th about 18:00-18:30 I witnessed what I thought to be a large flare. Slowly dropping out of the sky. It was very close and my brain could only think flare. But later the same night I watched the red orb passing east to west. By the way a balloon or one of those Chinese lanterns would make sense I agree but in Vancouver the winds most of the time are east bound. Helicopters make noise and this was silent. You can hear people in the back ground on this recording. No motor sound.
@steak462 This is the second time I've seen this red orb. On the 30th and then Halloween Eve. Both times it was witnessed just after 21:00. I was out last night but it started raining just before 20:00 and didn't stop. I'm going back out tonight.

LoL those are chinese lanterns you saw, i saw the same thing here in hungary on a summers night. You can get them at firework selling places here.
