  • this song puts me in a good mood..!!

  • One of the most under rated bands of all time. These guys rock!

  • I agree!!! Great classic rock.

  • Thank you !

  • I love the CARS and did you see the video response yet?

    Holy cow right on !

  • y dont we have music like this now... god how much better would society be if we just took rich's advice and "LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL"

  • GOOD STUFF HERE.

  • Rick is definitely an alien.

  • Ha ha ha!! Why is that? He may not be considered all that normal but he is vocally talented. :)

  • I'm glad you got a kick out of that. haha. He's just a very different looking individual with his phsyical stature and all. But I agree hes got cool vocals and a very original songwriter

  • Yeah absolutely! :) Ric is skinny! Just kidding. :)

  • There are no words to describe how awesome this guys are. They just don't make em' like that anymore!

  • To my good friend Glenn... Who passed away last year: This tune will forever remind me of our Teenage escapades! Miss ya Bud!

  • The Essence of Cool

  • wow they are tight... good live sound... good vocals!

  • Hey they sound really good live. Awesome....I love The Cars.

  • Very good song, very good execution.

  • God! What a trip! I forgot what they looked like in 1978 so I looked up here and laughed! I remembered seeing them at The Italian Heritage Center in Boston in 1977. They were unknown within months before the first LP was released. Us Italians went nuts with these guys and thought they were Europeans because of their accents, looks, and "strange" music called New Wave! LOL! And I'm amazed how popular they are now than before with this site! Let the good times roll, Folks!

  • you can get this and the rest of the european DVD at Rhino records. it is an amazing recording from 1978!

  • Seriously??? Then I am getting it because I like the quality of the sound here! Thanks!

  • Agreed..The Cars were a great band, but what REALLY stood out was Elliot Easton..

  • Elliot Easton, underrated.

  • for some reason, i love the little spin he does at the end lol.

    awseome song, great band.

    peace

  • they look like his trade mark

  • Erm... Ric looks cooler with the shades, but he has REALLY cool eyes too, so yeah, I sorta agree with you, it would be interesting to see him perform with The Cars but without shades. Also, if you want to see, look up for the video "The Cars - Heartbeat City LIVE 1984 Houston" he sings it without the sunglasses.

  • Saw them play this song live in Omaha, Nebraska when they were at their "peak". Awesome!! Thanks!

  • By peak you mean 1984 or 1987? :)

  • I believe it was the summer of 1979.

  • Well, there's two types of fans of The Cars, so to those types it's in different time that "peak", to me, if to talk about popularity and TV peak, it's 1984, and if to talk about their career "peak - end" it's 1987, and at that time Ric Ocasek was also at his peak, he was perfect at that time :)

  • This was when they had just came out with their initial hit (in the US) so was pretty cool. I do agree 100% with your comments, especially 1987, in regards to Ric Ocasek.

  • Thanks for that! I respect Ric insanely, plus, I think he looked just superb in the 80's!

  • the keyboard player loks like kip from Napolean dynamite. Kips like 30 !

  • THIS ROCKS !!!!!!!

  • anybody know what kind of guitar the singer is playing?

  • No idea :S

  • rics playing a dean guitar i think

  • its a dean, you can tell by their signature head stock design

  • prolly my favorite Cars tune

  • Kewl, then no prob ;)

  • problem?

  • Excellent live vid! I grew up listening to this band and this song is my favourite, even from as young as 5 years old listening to it in the car on long road trips.

  • i need a lyric sheet for this one...

  • Thanks Slance. You are a true Cars fan.

  • Thanks, I know :D

  • really cool tones on the short guitar solo and keys solos. Yeah, I agree with some of these other comments below after listening to this again - great band! Better than I remember from when I was 10. Many times you get older and wiser and have better tastes and you think, "Oh my god, I liked THAT!?" But in this case it's the opposite. They were way cooler than I knew! Pretty original sound, too.

  • Same thing happens when you understand "Drive" or "Why Can't I Have You".

  • one of the best american rock bands.. one of the best ever for that matter... they should so be in the rock n roll hall of fame...

  • not only in rock

  • I don't want them mixed in with all the riff raff. Heck, they probably inducted Madonna and Prince for all we know. Keep em out of there.

  • Love the vocal tention at 2:44... One of Bostons Most overlooked gems. We werent winning world series & super bowels back in 78-86 but we had these guys. Love Ya CARS!

  • It great! Thanks!

  • No prob! :D

  • i like the version without the keyboard boopy thingy ... :D awesome song, still, though!!! XD

  • Duh it's The Cars dude! :D

  • Is that John Denver's brother on keyboards?:-{D=

  • Uh, no, it's Greg Hawkes :)

  • I dunno why but when i first time tried uploading it youtube deleted it :O that was in juny or july :O :) But yeah, I suppose yay :D

  • maybe because of copyright laws :(

  • i dunno, it said deleted in terms of violation :S

  • yay ^_^
