  • You have a f***** up Computerm dude:-)

  • i TURNED MY SPEAKERS FULL BLAST AND COULDNT HEAR U MAN D:!

  • Thanks man, it really helped

  • Is your computer always that glitchy?

  • still a nice video though, just trying to offer helpful/positive criticism with my previous post

  • wubi isn't an OS it's just an installer, much like Unetbootin. wubi still downloads Ubuntu to use. Using it is a good alternative to dual booting if you must have it on your system. otherwise a live cd/dvd/usb would be another great way to go. Plus with usb keys you can add persistence to save data and settings while keeping a live linux distro. the other easy way to dual boot is a secondary hard drive dedicated to linux.

  • In the video, are you installing Ubuntu on the same drive as windows? Aren't there any problems if you install two o/s on the same drive (C:\)?

  • @rawbq only problems you might inconter is incaficent memory so make sure your hard drive has enough memory for both

  • lol i have 700 giga byte's free and 400 used =]

  • This is really easy, Thanks

but i have a question, if i want to uninstall it what should i do?

  • i like this video. I'm beginner

  • UpsetPC red? Really? Well i wonder whos connected to your mobile.

  • Nice tutorial/guide. But please do me a favour and learn to pronounce Ubuntu correctly.

I am South African, the origin of the word Ubuntu. You are saying it completely wrong. HWen you say it , it sounds like Ooboontoo

Now try it like this Oo Bun to > Bun as in current bun. not boon..Ya got that? And that comment is not just for the maker of this video, but for everybody that pronounces it wrong...

  • Used this method with vista. When I went to load it, it brought me to dos and says kernal missing :(

  • One thing im not sure about linux is how would i reinstall programs from my windows operating system, do i need to write like a lot of coding to get

    eg. printer installation disk?

  • Does this work for W7 ultimate?

  • Hi there . thank you for the video , is very easy to follow and instructional . i'am in the process of installing Linux, hope i like it and not having to go back to manipulating microsoft . will coment again later . kind regards Flori

  • it works. rather reliably too. only problem i have is that ubuntu doesn't like writing to a ntfs formated drive. and sence windows works best. and sometimes only with ntfs. its not a good ling term or heavy and/or heavy wear work.

  • THANKS alot- best video out there, very informative :)

  • Yeah, It's meow, I set my system up to dual boot Kunbuntu Linux, but did my homework, and so far, dont want to uninstall...

  • cool, how would i uninstall??

  • Brilliant post thanks Mate !!

  • does it work for vista

  • Yes. I have Vista and it works.

  • This video was very informative and helpful. I was going to use Fedora, but decided to use Ubuntu instead and am glad that Idid.

  • it says no disk and i have to hit continue like a billion times...

  • thanks so much im downloading it ...

    hope it works :) thanks!

  • it works great , thanks .

  • Works great, but one question:

Is there any way to load my steam games off my windows side or do I have to re-download it for Ubuntu? And if I install WINE will it be removed if I were to uninstall Ubuntu?

Ok, thats two questions but whatever.

    Thanks in advance!

  • thank you so much, its working really well to start ubuntu and windows,no problem at all!!!! loving it

  • so is ubuntu linux?

  • if this works its going to be so cool =D

  • UBUNTU = LINUX?

  • their are actually many distros of linux such as ubuntu, mandriva, opensuse, red hat enterprise, pclinuxos, debian and fedora the list goes on each has its own use but ubuntu, mandriva and opensuse are for more home computers if you dont like windows.

  • Very informative, TY so much for showing me Wubi. I was worried I would have to use a third party software to get things done. I'm on my way to becoming a Linux user GOODBYE WINDOWS!!! :)

  • ONe question once i got this installed how do i get otehr little linux things installed i forget what their called.

  • Everytime I am using ubuntu, my mouse cursor is always looking scrambled. Is there a way to fix this?

  • will this method work with vista?

  • Well, you did the rest part in a virtual machine, didn't you?

But hell yea this vid is awesome..

You deserve 5 stars :> thank you

Im doing this at the moment :D

  • I installed Ubuntu the same as you did but I hve no sound. what to do?. thanks

  • does this work with vista?

  • can I have Linux and windos in the same hard drive?

  • the whole ubuntu is 0.99 MB???

    and its complete installed???

    wow

  • Of course not,LOL

Its an online downloader, thats just the program which will do the job :>

  • In fact it is around 700 megs...

  • i dont know i havent try it

  • so would i be able to run games like diablo 2 on ubuntu? im sick of windows but i havent had any experience with other OS' . Great vid by the way, this is the least confusing tutorial ever!

  • Hi lord!

Glad you found the tutorial easy to follow thats my plan! Yes you could run games like that on ubuntu - using something called Wine.

I could make another video showing you how to do this if you are interested,

    Andy

  • @UpsetPC yes please! :] also would it work on newer games like, call of duty 4, battlefield bad company 2 ect.? (im sick of windows also lol)

  • i did this and after reboting ang selecting ubuntu it appeard a black screen asking me to type help to get some codes... any help?

  • on this video at 2:54 windows installer crapes out . I looked at it i think it might be i have a crapy iso image thats when it stops . windows wants to collect data.

  • So you basically need to clear your temporary windows files and it will redownload the iso !

  • yes it is my problem is i cant seem to get passed the part where it loading at the begingg windows installer boots me out saying error

so for anyone that can help how do i fix that? LOL

it was working now not weird.

  • Hi Wooka - what was the specific error?

  • Fast connection:( took me three hours!

  • Pity - sometimes traffic congestion on your isp can slow it down and various other internet downloads. As long as you eventually got it! You can actually use a CD Image or predownloaded version of linux with the wubi installer - if you are interested send me a message and I can tell anybody how to do this to avoid the lengthy download!

  • Thanks, I have it all up and running now. I'm going to sell the CD with it on:)

  • Would avoid doing this as it could end up in legal disputes between yourself the the people who wrote the operating system + me too - this has my copyright!

    Thanks again

  • Well I thought That windows is the only OS i can afford :) MAC not in my range. I was told that Linux is very difficult. TY for your vedio

  • Haha - changing the norms thats UpsetPC! Glad it helped you!

  • Yeah it is, windows is kinda bloated and Ubuntu will run much faster in nearly all tasks. I advise giving it a go!

  • wow ive given it a go it worked out perfectly thakyou, ps this is my new account from now

  • Im very pleased its worked for you! This is fantastic news!

  • is ubuntu faster than xp?

  • cool
