  • Ok, so I know I am a little late on making this comment but I just started watching your vids for the first time the other day and I have to say that I can understand almost everyone of your fears. Mostly the ones about your sister. And I also wanted to take this time to thank you for posting these vids. I don't have any friends that are trans like me and it's nice to know that there are people out there that understand what I am going through. I hope you can help me more along road.

  • wow man you know i think were all different in are own little ways but when it comes down to it at one point or another we all have the same fears in the end when were in the same boat

  • i know this video is mad old but I wanted to comment anyway to say thank you for posting it. it really hit home hard for me and even mentioned some fearsI'm having and hadn't even admitted to myself yet. I watched your earlier vids over a yr ago when I was just figuring my own stuff out, so to come back now and see how far you've come is really inspiring.

  • fuck yeah, grandparents. as well bloody everything that you've put here...

man, thanks for making your videos, they helps a lot with encouragement and information! you are just asdfghj fucking awesome!!!

    many many thanks!

ha! it's gonna be the 100s comment on this video! i fell lucky XD

  • Dude, this is right on with what I am going through. I am facing my fears as well.

  • thanks for saying what a lot of us are not brave enough to say.

If you think back to this video... how many of your fears actually came true?

  • you are truly amazing....

  • It's true, facing your fears, and then sharing your fears, helps loosen their hold on you. Some of us aren't quite so lucky to be able to do that, because talking about fears and sharing them is a fear in itself. It's hard to do! Being comfortable in one's own body, in one's own family, in one's own career, is elusive for us all... but I can imagine moreso for the trans community. You seem like a centered fellow with a good mind, though, and that's definitely part of having power over fear.

  • wow cool video!! it must have taken alot of time!

was every thing ok with your family?

  • this is how i feel except the family thing. But gratz to you pullin through you look great.

hope things get better soon but one thing all us guys are here for ya so never feel like you are alone.

  • cool video man

  • Dood.... I can't imagine feeling the way you feel. Men to man... We're your family bro. That's why we're all here. Family is about support, not blood.

  • A sucker punch to the gut man, and one man transfolk can relate to all to well.

Thank you for being brave and documenting your experience with transition.

  • What a powerful video

    Brought me to tears

    Very creative

I understand how some things are impossible to say out loud.

  • hey man thanks for making this video. this is one of the most profound vids that I have seen in a good minute. you touched on alot of stuff that i have had rattling around in my head as well since beginning transition. So, yeah awesome vid, loved the way you expressed yourself...

  • Killer vid, Man!

  • wow! what a video........ fucking brilliant man, fucking brilliant. Touching as well, but unique and very expressive.

    ... I'm speechless!

  • this made me cry... you are so brave you'll do it up, and youll look great and if anyone doesnt accept you for who you are than they do not truely understand.

  • This, by far, is my favorite video. My girl loved it as well. Krysta

  • this was touching. thanks for sharing man.

  • Really cool video, and you aren't alone in these fears

  • awesome vid man. expresses my own fears.

  • i have some of the same exact fear..the one i fear the most is my girlfiend not likeing my body..now that i got her back..

  • You only live once and If you are not happy being a "girl" then you need to do what makes you happy.. and if becoming a guy will do that for you then the ppl who LOVE you will be there for you no matter what.. there will be ppl who don't understand.. and there will be ppl who are childish about your choice but always remember that's its YOUR CHOICE!!!!!!!

  • i dont think the lightbulb went off in my head until i saw this video, thank you

  • thank you for opening up about your fears. I have almost the exact same ones. your kinda a role model in some ways, so its really nice to know that you go through this to.

  • Sick video idea, man. I definitely share some of those fears, its overwhelming at times. Just wanted to say good luck with your upcoming surgery.

  • Wow...

the silence at the end is deafening...

  • i know what you feel now... that fear about my girlfriend... what if she don't like my body after my transition... is very hard...

    good look man!

  • Ty- proud of you staying with your brain for a while and woring the process. If we take the "transition" out of the picture , most of the fears are the same for all human beings, being liked, loved and accepted. Call if you need a boob buddy. Will meet you at surgery.Dr. Mel

  • Great video Ty, this one was really from the heart. You can make it man, you give me hope in my own ability to make it.

  • Wow.. this one actually made me cry... I will never forget how hard it was for my fiance to face all of the same fears you have.. but I am telling you, facing them and managing your life to fit the situation will not only make you a stronger and better person but eventually (and I use that term loosley), people will begin to see the side of you that was hidden. They will respect you for your strength and endurance in being who you are and making your happiness come true. Hang in there!

  • Great video!!! I know just how you feel. I think we all do. I have learned over the past 6 or so months that it's better to be a potential outsider in the family that to be someone you're not. You will be fine once you are on the other side of transition no matter what happens. You're a great guy from what I've seen of you're videos and I think that good things await you.

  • I know EXACTLY how you feel, man

  • THAT was Amazing! speechless

  • If you feel like an outsider in the environment you are in, you either need to work on your communication with the whole group, or find a new group who accepts and treats you better. i know that's hard to say about one's own family. i guess i had it easy since my parents rejected me from birth. i've had time to get past that, and hey man, with time, the pain fades. just do what you know is right for you. you are strong and i support you.

  • You're a brave man, Ty. Thanks for posting this... it's honest and real, and it totally expresses the fears alot of us have.

  • Ty:

Most (maybe all) of your fears are unfounded. I want to address a few of them: From your videos, the way you think shows very clearly that you have a male brain, so I see no reason for the fear about being secure in your manhood or about being accepted as one of the guys. You already look great and getting rid of the boobs will make you look better, so I don't see any reason to question whether others or you will like your body or whether you will look good or feel an outsider. (cont)

  • (CONT) I don't know what career you see for yourself, but assuming a college education is needed, not going back to school would be a terrible mistake. I don't know why you would not want to go back to school.

Finally, you should NOT see yourself as a failure. The fact that you have come so far in your transition already puts you ahead of most of the population in ability to confront your personal problems and those of friends and family and to resolve them! You have the personality (cont)

  • (second continuation) to succeed!

Of course, fear does not always abate with a rational evaluation, but to the extent that such an evaluation can be made, it allows one to concentrate on the emotional factors. Best wishes to you and remember that most transmen get the "jitters" just before surgery.

    Lloyd

  • very good video

  • I really like this video as it speaks to a lot of the fears I am having lately. Thank you for posting this video Ty...as you aren't alone bud. Keep your head up and know there are people out here who care.

  • That was awesome Ty! It was very well said. "Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride" -Gary Allan

  • Well done, Tyler!! Favorited.

The last screen reminds me of Dune and the Litany Against Fear:

    I must not fear.

    Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

    I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

    Only I will remain.

  • this video was beautifully done..i can understand u on some of ur fear.."i make not like my bodu post-op"...maybe u should take some more time to really go over everything that u will face post-op...EVERY LITTLE THING...

  • its more fear of less than perfect results

  • i have this ideal in my head....that once the transition is all over i should look like my ideal. what happens if im wrong?

is that kinda what you mean?

  • @DominoAyeJae same deal over here.

  • Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Great vid man, thanks for posting.

  • that was awesome :]

you should add some music to it though

  • great vid. you have to do what makes you happy!

  • Good video bro..

  • thanks for posting this. I too have some of the same fears. you're not alone bro. Keep your head up.

  • Powerful.

Thank you for being so brave and so honest. Beautifully composed, also.

  • I like "face" better than "embrace."

The world is full of ifs--so what! Robert Frost said "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood . . . ." Good poem..

Reality check--school and your transition are not irrevoccably linked. GET THAT EDUCATION. It is is your right, and a necessity. Don't think otherwise.

  • well done ..sometimes the spoken word just dont do justice to how ya feel...awesome interpretation of your fears

  • Beautiful...very well done. It was refreshing to see a serious side to your videos...it shows that even a guy like you who seems to have it all together has tough days. Way to go!

  • Hey bro,

Like 'cheghench' and others have said I can totally relate as a fellow transman. You've articulately, artistically portrayed so many common fears faced by us in this video. Nice job - ur definitely not alone dude.

  • you are 1 brave man!.. seeing this i thought u r going to quit but u didnt! u're awesome.. keep it up! shit does happen from time to time u just need to hold on to your goals and not being distracted, u r going to succeed.

  • love this Ty, 110% with u on it

  • hey bro, just remember that your family will always love you no matter what, they may not like ur transition but its yours not theirs. tell them that love is all that is needed and if they can love you and allow you to be just you, ull be just fine. those are some tough things to face but ur strong enough,

  • wow man, i feel like every transman, like myself, can totally relate to everything u wrte here! thanx!

  • keep strong.

    my thoughts are with you.

  • Glad you posted this vid. I think its things alot of people think about but can't voice it. And worrying about this stuff is lame, but it is things that need to be faced. I'm at the point where i am trying to face my fears too. Its hard but somehow we gotta do it I guess.

    Zander

  • RESPECT!

  • I feel you brother. :D Stay strong. and be true to yourself.

  • Right on Ty, that was an amazing video...And you are not alone brother....Alot of us guys have the same fear....Stay strong, and live free....E

  • I hope everything works out Tyler, I agree with "Vampirebat22". I know we dont know each other very well but if you need someone to talk to, Im always here for you bro. Take care!

    ~Cody

  • Can't express how much I relate to you and this video, man. I have such similar fears. All I know thus far is that this too shall pass.

    Mad respect.

  • very powerful

  • You have to do what you think is best... talk to your tharapist. Talk it out.

  • wow that was fucking awesome.....You are a strong guy and everything is falling in place for you, just trust that what youre doing is the right thing.. Not everyone we care for is going to completely understand what we have been dealing with.

    KEL

  • that was really cool

  • that was moving... i sat here for a second, just speechless. It's unfortunate that us guys have to deal with things like that and i hope it all works out.
