  • I really apreciate you taking the time to review and use American knives like BUCK. Not everyone can afford custom or high end knives...Wish I knew someone like you.

  • Comment removed

  • i have this knife i got it when i was 2 years old

  • i have a buck 102 that i purchased around thirty years ago

not sure what type of steel

it has a sheath that flaps over top of the the handle so that the knife is completely covered

this knife has done everything i have asked it to and is still in great shape

    i love this knife

    -boyce

  • Hello, is the tang on the 102 like the 119 etc?

  • @sanantoniospurs9 I will upload a see through video soon. Thanks.

  • Waku,

Where did you buy this Buck 102 with the ATS-34 blade?

  • @bushelersbuddy I got it from eBay. Thanks.

  • Great video Wako, my friend. The buck 102 was my first fixed-bladed knife, which I still have. It is in mint condition and about 44 years old. Have a blessed day. John

  • @snaponjohn100 I have never known this knife had such a long history! Thank you!

  • @virtuvice Ive never had and issues with mine rusting... Quite happy with it.. Love your videos!! Thanks

  • @wopp418 In those days I treated my knives very wrong. The rust was my fault. Thanks.

  • VG-1 San Mai steel

  • @wopp418 I have ever owned it. But I left it because of its little handle ergonomics and its relative easiness to rust. Thanks.

  • You own a cold steel Master Hunter, vg

  • What is all this madness on your comments page about Wako. lol

  • @johnwoodz1220 Yes. I am a Buddhist. But I have never heard of the reborn. And I have never heard of Hell nor Heaven.I am going to Nirvana. Everything I have done and will do in the future is going for Nirvana. There is no virtue nor vice in Karma ( it's my handle name..lol ). They are just tiny illusion in front of Buddha. Everyone is going to Nirvana regardless of their deeds. Buddha just said we should stay awake (not literally) and neutral. Then everyone will stay easy in this world. Thanks.

  • I love it also. Always very good videos. Thanks Wako

  • Crazy sharp!!

  • my frIend which edge is your favourite edge out of all.

  • @ikonik69 Hollow beveled knife like this is easy to sharpen or strop because there is little metal to be removed. So for a light job like deer dressing I like hollow grind pretty much. The Scandi grind with micro convex bevels is also pretty good. But the genuine convex edge is the best to me. It is always sharp and tough, and easy to maintain. Thanks.

  • @virtuovice can you batton with genuine convex edge

  • @ikonik69 I have never done it. But in my opinion the convex Axe has the strongest biting and destroying power to wood, so the convex edge knife will do the same. Thanks.

  • @virtuovice my frnd I saw you in your vids putting so much time on sharpening stone I was watching this product on you tube its called work sharp sportsman by work sharp tools amazing product to sharpen ur hunting, knives. search it on youtube. I'm not being a sales man or affiliated with them just wanna share the info with knife crowd

  • Buck 102 is a beautiful knife. It reminds me of the Queen Light Hunters, particularly the Bear Head and the Canoe. They are full-flat ground D2, though. Quite different than the ATS-34 hollow ground.

  • @mz9393mz I first met the Queen cutlery as a hunting knife maker. Their hunter line is very interesting. Thank you!

  • I think the small handle will require a tight grip, no problem for one deer, but for more your hand and wrist might get tired.

  • @sae1095hc That's a good point. I'll check it up in the field. If it was a Scandi knife, it would have a much thicker handle. I am much interested in this handle thinness. Thanks.

  • That's a very nice little knife, Wako! Are you going to test it in the field next winter ?

  • @AjiraKimberly Yes. I think it's a very interesting knife used in deer field dressing. I guess this knife has a decent history. I want to know why this skinny knife has been popular as a hunting knife in the US. Thank you!

  • I hope you are near the kitchen! ;)

  • I once disturbed my Buddhist teacher by brandishing a knife outside the kitchen. She told me it was bad kharma and that i was creating the cause to be reborn in hell realm where i would be stabbed continuously for eons of time.

  • @69Phuket thats what blind fear will do to you

  • @ericsyutubeaccount Not blind. I'm awake. I do fear for us though.

  • @69Phuket why?

  • @ericsyutubeaccount I will not adulterate this great video with mild bickering. Investigate yourself. I have lots of stuff on my channel. 69phuket Out.

  • @69Phuket pmed

  • @69Phuket I think he was referring to your "teacher."

  • @mz9393mz I think he needs one!

  • @69Phuket THAT IS NOT BUDDISM! That is a western bastardization and misinterpretation of Buddhist principles. Please educate yourself and QUIT SPREADING FEAR!!!

    Also,

Who asked you about your moral stance on knives? Nothing in your post flows with Buddhist principles.

  • @40DegreeShoulder Please calm down. Nothing in your post flows with Buddhist principles either. You are disturbing the Zen of Virtuovice's videos.

  • @mz9393mz dats racist

  • WOW - BUCK in ATS34 steel - great knife - you must be very happy with this knife my friend;)

    Chears ;)
