Yeah but I think OGRE and Irrlicht are cross-platform unlike Dark GDK, which is Windows only.

I've checked out Irrlicht and yeah it is quite hard. Its full of initialization crap, whereas Dark GDK makes it all simple. But I think OGRE has that also.

If you know Irrlicht or OGRE, Dark GDK should be not too hard to learn.

pretty good for a home made game, but there must be other persons to kill, shooting robots and stuff, that gets a bit dead if you know what i mean, when you make a rly good game there has to be ragdoll functions and you must be able to shoot someone,s body parts off (or much blood) anyways for a home made game is this pretty good, when you do the things i just sed, i rly want to hafe it, and other people too ofcourse :P

Ogre has a lot more versatility. The Dark suite is good in its own right, and it's much more intuitive, but it has limitations. Think of it like this: C++ is generally seen as more complicated than BASIC, and it can do a lot more. For basic tasks, though, BASIC is probably quicker. The same goes with the Dark suite - for quickie games, they're great. But Ogre has been used for many professional games and 3D apps, and will serve you better in the long run.

Dark GDK and OGRE aren't programming languages at all ;) They're engines, the programming language is c++.

the map was created in blender with the lightmaps as textures. then I divided the mesh into parts like ground, cliffs, houses, furniture and those different parts got different detail-textures. those detail textures gave the map the color
