DUDE!!! sick cover love the les paul got one myself and still tryin to learn this song all the way through been playin for about a year now just wonderin if u got a few pointers
Man im into certain types of songs that have guitar bass and drums in it mainly metal but bon jovi is awesome and i just had to play along with you on this video it was so good i own both electric and acoustic and i have to tell you my strings on the electric are really bendy and i mean really........i have only been playin for pretty much only 1 year learning on my own because i choose to...........and i have to say im already pretty good at guitar now but this cover is awesome i played along!!
@thedrifter29 The technique is called "Pinch harmonics". It's difficult to explain and arguably difficult to perfect but very basically, it's allowing the plucked string to (almost simultaneously) lightly touch the thumb of the 'plucking' hand. This somehow makes the string "screech" at a given pitch. I would advise you check out an instructional video of which there are plenty, this'll definitely help you.
wow man that was fantastic, you definitely got talent...i've been playing for about 7 years now and i've mastered this song too, also i have the same les paul as you!
@SuperSpeedofSound Thanks a lot! I have been plain for 3 years now. Only about 2 years in this video though. Acoustic and acoustic electric are practically the same. There are some people who say that the pickup takes away from the sound, but I personally disagree with that. In terms of buying a guitar, it all depends on your style. I knew I was a rock and roll guy from the start, so I bought an electric. Hope this helps!
@MrLespaul22 :) Thanks for the information, i knew it. But my first point is:What is better to start? like a noob or begginer.I played it one year and i stop using it for one year, because my guitar is mistreated and sounds so bad.I think its broken :(it was a gift by a friend :) but now a will buy an acoustic guitar and an electric in my birthday (this november)So my first question is that: its better to practice with an acoustic and then with an electric?or how do you started? TIPS PLEASE!!!
@SuperSpeedofSound Acoustic strings are tougher to play. Electric is easier. You can't properly learn to solo on an acoustic either. I started on an electric because that's just what I had at my disposal. Like I said, it's all about the style you want to play!
@MrLespaul22 i agree, i beleive starting with acoustic to be best because it gets ur fingers stronger so when u eventually switch to electric ull fly up and down the neck no prob. i dissagree however about soloing i fully beleive u can learn to solo on acoustic, i cant see any reason why you coldnt. just a bit harder is all. ive personally seen many great musicians solo on acoustics just as well as electric. James Hetfield from metallica solo's a wicked Nothing else Matters solo on his acoustic
@Klipnotica I can agree with that. When I was thinking of soloing, I was going more towards what rock soloing is stereotyped as now. Look at Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here...one of the most iconic acoustic solos of all time is in the intro of the song. Soloing on an acoustic has to be tackled a little differently than soloing on an electric. There are so many types of soloing, it's hard to just pinpoint this stuff! hahhaa
@MrLespaul22 sorry I knew it that the acoustic and electroacoustic are the same :P the difference is that you can conect them into amplifiers :) Well thats what I know. ^_^
@SuperSpeedofSound - Acoustic Guitars are harder to play because the string diameter is larger, and also the action is generally higher. Starting on acoustic (in my opinion) allows your fingers to adjust and condition to playing more quickly than an electric guitar would. Once you have learned your basics on acoustic, you can pick up an electric. And after that, its always healthy to pick on your acoustic every now and then.
@ArgenticAnthem Hey fella. ACDC's Angus Young uses chords with distortion a lot. The trick of it is to lose one or two of the strings, as playing as if it were 'clean' makes it noisy using distortion. E.G. an open G chord would typically be played taking out the B on the 5th string. See what works for you and your guitar, after all, everyone has different strings, pick-ups etc........ . Hope this helps.
@feAr636 nah man i was dropped a half and I didn't want to tune it up to match the recording (which is in standard). I capoed to get the right pitch. I put an annotation on the vid in the beginning saying this.
@MrLespaul22 i love gibsons so much, but its the price tag that stops me from buying one....i just recently bought a schecter diamond series......what type of amp were you playing on?
My brother doesn't have a youtube account so he asked me if he could comment be cause he watches you play this all the time and he is continuously listening to Bon Jovi so he says ... This is an amazing cover on guitar i look up to you keep it up mate :) (Y)
@PointlessVideos1000 Dude you are honestly not going to get anything better than what you got for under 500 bucks. The next step your lookin at is from 800-1200. You can get an American strat for around 1000 bucks I think.
@PointlessVideos1000 Strats Are very good guitars, Fender is one of the best companies. Just thought to let you know. PS I have a fender Strat. Blue, Dark blue. :D
Ahh dude I can't remember xactly. I keep my settings pretty consistent though. Treble, bass, and middles at 8-9. the second overdrive channel with gain at 6. MXR distortion + for xtra attack.
hey! wold you recomend a taylor 110e for me? ive been playing for 4 years and i have a 100-200 dollar guitar right now. its a mitchell md100sce. also, i have a gibson melody maker for my band but my heart is with the acoustic guitar and not the electric. i do love electric to tho
