Definitely a faster way to beat him, punch him while he's doing nothing, he will then throw a counterpunch. Dodge that and then throw a delayed punch at his gut. A faster way to get stars.

How do you get a star anyway?

It depends of the opponent. Generally, you get stars when you catch an opponent where he is usually not caught. You have to surprise him! so, playing the game helps to learn how to get stars. However, against King Hippo, we can't. ;)

You just have to press "Start" when you have a Star to use! However, if you're talking about the strength of my uppercuts, they looked so powerful because as soon as an opponent gets up at the count of 1, he'll fall at the very first next uppercut he'll get punched with! ;)

Impressive, your reflexes and timing were near perfect. You may have just KO'd him if you'd nailed him with the uppercut beforehand (then again, you wouldn't have gotten that second star) In the end, I think that this is the quickest way to beat him. Kudos and continue to fight it out. =D

Yes, but there is a way to do better. My technique has to be used at some points, but principally, we need to use the delayed body punch. ;)

When I fight Great Tiger, he usually blocks when I throw a upper punch while that emerald is flashing. I think you need to swing at exactly the right time, and I'm rather lacking in reflexes.

I use a different strategy against him. I rack up an insane amount of stars by giving him a lower jab when he's ducking down to uppercut me. He then switches to uppercutting you on the other side, so you just jab with your opposite hand.

When the light of his hat shines, we can hit him on the face to get a star. I always keep my guard up against him, so he puts his arms up too, but when hia hat shines, he lowers his defense and I hit him! How could I be so fast to hit him? I studied his pattern, and when we are well timed, we can exactly know when he'll be vulnerable! ;)
