aha, thanks - I saw him once in DC back with his power trio, doing the harmolodic stuff, and it made one want to hang to the stage and howl - thunderous bass, pounding drums, and melodic riffs that knocked one's mind cockeyed - my date was pretty game, though I had no business taking that particular person to that show :)
whaddya call this, Progressive Funk? Jazz-Funk Fusion? Electric Folk? Space Blues?

@SupernalOne Harmolodic jazz funk. He was a student of Ornette. He's doing mostly straight blues now.
