lol oh god I can just picture the executive meeting where this was pitched..
'You see sir, the kids today, they love the Mangas. And they love saying thing like "laying down tracks" all the time. This is really going to make them feel like we're "rapping" with them."
@jadaty1111 It's automatic when something is recorded in a fixed format (like this post for instance). If you are in the USA, there are certain advantages to copyright registration (the Library of Congress website has details), but it is not essential.
If you suspect content is being shared on YouTube without the copyright holder's permission, report the infringement violation to us, we'll make sure the content gets removed. We review all submissions, regardless of content or subject matter.
We are not "officially" affiliated with YouTube, however we act within YouTube Guidelines as a community driven policing initiative, averaging 99% video removal for all complaints submitted, whether anonymous 3rd party tips, or the actual copyright holder.
This animation shows what you'll get when you copyright something. It simply sucks. You can keep your mass-produced BS, we'll concentrate on artwork instead.
This is supposed to be for kids?? For the love of God, do NOT indoctrinate the next generation in this crap, look at the way innumerable extensions of copyright and overly enforced laws totally destroyed creative environments and communities. Why not teach children the wonder of fair use, creative commons and public domain?
Sure they protect our work but now everyone gets sued for using it without paying lots of money. CopyLEFT skips the paying part but still protects your work. People are free to use it but still have to get credit for it. Except for pirating and selling cause that is a problem with CR and CL.
I see all this, but all I get from it is.....please allow the law to protect my greed. Funny how copyright and poverty can exist in the same breathe. Why are there no laws protecting humanity from being unequal? Or providing for all before we think about who the next billionaire will crop up from, with minimal effort, or from a one hit wonder. I don't buy this copyright arguement at all. Just sounds like more justification for the rich pundits to have their cake and eat it too.
Yeah. right. Once you finish your album you have to publish it. To publish it, you need a publisher. Who will take the copyright, nearly all of the money, and make you sign yourself in as a slave to their corporation. Then, they will plug your ass and try to squeeze as many money as they can from your past and future creations. Been there, seen it. Unfortunately other option is independent publishers which will make like, 10 copies and.
Fuck copyright. Fuck capitalism.
Knowledge and creativity belong to all mankind.

Somehow copyright laws tend to be most beneficial for artists who probably don't need them and almost useless for unknown artists who are beginning.
Yet another example of how laws benefit almost exclusively big corporations.

BullSHiT!
Copyright should be limited to identifying the creator of the work being used, copied and distributed.
THAT'S ALL!
We should not keep people from sharing digital content that costs nothing to copy and distribute.
Seriously were preventing a the age of information from progressing.
