  • Guitar PORN ! this when it sucks living on an Island

  • paradise

  • Excellent video - thanks for that

  • @davedave99999

    Thanks for watching.

  • My thoughts of the vintage collection, too many fenders and not enough Les Pauls!

  • WELCOME TO THE CANDY SHOP

  • WOW

  • @ETericET

Reading the comments on this video have made me realize just how lucky we are to have Dave's Guitar Shop right here in LaCrosse. I've witnessed this store's evolution from a VERY humble start in a garage, many years ago.

  • 3 people disliked because they wanted to buy 100+ guitars and weren't able to! lol :O

  • Ha! I wonder if they have a green acoustic guitar, lol, I saw one on Amazon. LOL, go check it out, looks cool to me, but I luv green(my fav. color)! It was 179-89, I think...was funny when I saw it, was like woah even colors! Purple prob. be pushing it a lil' ya think?! haha

  • So what is the longest amt. of time u ever spent looking in his shop? haha

  • @3greatgreyhounds3

Time loses all relevance when in there. But I'll easily spend anywhere from an one to five, six or more hours in there. All depending on who is also hanging out in there on any day.

  • @rickbell7 I somehow figured this! o.O 6 haha...u did it...LOL

  • Rick, I'm sure all Dave's guitars in there are better than the "one" lone one we have! I also have a lil' baby one from when L was small. haha!

  • @3greatgreyhounds3

Hmm, not so sure about that. He has some pretty beat up looking guitars up in his private vintage collection. Oh wait! They're not "beat up"; they have "character"! LOL.

  • I think it would take me quite a big huge while to pick out a beginner guitar in this shop! My oh my! I remember watching this video before. ;)

  • @3greatgreyhounds3

Nah, the guys would get you set up and ready to rock in short order. And not for as much as you might think.

  • Best guitar shop I've ever been too. Best selection, best price, best customer service and best repair shop! EVER! I'm lucky to only live a two hour drive from Dave's. Nothing compares in Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Twin Cities or anywhere in the midwest that I know of.

  • @TelecasterTodd

In a conversation with Mr Paul Reed Smith, he once said that Dave's is one of the premier guitar shops in the world. He also said that Dave has the largest collection of vintage equipment on display that he's seen anywhere in the world.

...Right here in little LaCrosse Wisconsin. That's pretty cool!

  • @rickbell7 Woah just read that reply to another Tuber u did, that sounds like an amazing place to look around! I'm going to watch the video again later and see if I see a green acoustic guitar in it! hahahaha...my fav. color!

  • Pure heaven....

  • GOD!!!!! WHY I DONT HAVE THIS PARADISE IN MY TOWN???

  • gave my fenders backkkk

  • Why dont I hear stairway

  • Comment removed

  • Look they have their gibsons and fenders all placed outside, ready to play. If it comes to singapore guitar shops, they'll keep all those in locked rooms. What a comparison.

  • O.M.G.!!!!! What an AWESOME PLACE!

  • Bloody hell! I've never heard of an acoustic bass guitar and... whoa.. my mind was just blown. Does your dad have a website? I cant even go there because Im australian :P oh yea and collection? How rich is this dude?

  • Bloody hell! I've never heard of an acoustic bass guitar and... whoa.. my mind was just blown. Does your dad have a website? I cant even go there because Im australian :P

  • whoaaa 2:58 a jaguar in orange?

  • Where is this Heaven on Earth?!

  • @Brianf2148

This store is in a city called LaCrosse Wisconsin. On South Third Street.

  • This store looks amazing!! ;P

  • I almost flagged this video...almost giving me a heart attack! Haha very nice man! Thanks for sharing this!

  • @jimihendrixfan2008

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the little tour. It is a great place. I'll say hi for you next time I'm in there.

PS: I hope your heart is OK now, LOL.

    Rick

  • @rickbell7 Lmao! This video makes Guitar Center seem like nothing. O_o

  • i think the owner of the shop invest about3 3-4 milion $ or more

  • @argjentpacolli I've watched this store grow from the start in the back of a tiny garage.

Dave is first class all the way. It's an honor to call him a friend.:)

  • I just was amazed at this shop! It is so full of "stuff" !!! Nice stuff!!! -S

  • @3greatgreyhounds3

I have become kind of used to the store and sometimes forget just how unique and interesting it really is. Yes, it is an amazing place!

I'll tell Dave hi for you next time I'm in there.

    Rick

  • Insurance costs must be a killer, especially with that upstairs vinatage collection, struth!

  • gold tops with p-90's galore!!!

  • I'm sharing this video with some friends. I'm currently cleaning the collection upstairs at Dave's and it's hard to tell people what it's like. With this, I can show them.

  • @swirlgirl66

    Thanks! Really appreciate it!

    Rick

  • How were the prices for les pauls? Im, only on acoutic now but vjust for future plans.

  • @MrLaxdude89

Haven't checked lately, but I'd say Dave's prices are comparable to places like Musicians Friend, Amazon, etc.

    Rick

  • this place is like heaven

  • :-o awesome....i've never seen so much guitars in one place,at my local guitar shop are about thirteen guitars.....

  • Got my first guitar here...

'Bout a twenty minute drive from where I live! :-)

  • OMGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M FROM SINGAPORE AND THIS IS 10 TIMES AS MUCH GUITARS AS THEY HAVE EVEN IN A YAMAHA SHOP IN SINGAPORE.

  • the 7th Les Paul in the top row of lps in his private collection is an original 57 gold-top that weights like 6.5 pounds its unreal and the staff is out of this world they treat an average person like a rock star thanks Dave, Jeff, and Brian and the rest of the staff for killer deals and kind service take a drive its worth it we drive 3 hrs every time to go up there and its way worth it.

  • @NOWNVR

Very well said! I agree completely.

I see these guys all the time and I will pass your kind words to them next time I'm in there.

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • all those lonely guitar no one is playing.. so wrong. :(

  • @ace4dsl

I know, it was unusually quiet in there that afternoon.

  • I wan't to work in a music store!

  • Alot of beautiful guitars ! I could never go in to that building and expect i was coming out with only ONE guitar ! awesome collection upstairs as well !

  • i can't look any more, it makes me sad i can't go there and buy one

  • Dude, you missed the best wall of all! Its right in the entrance off to the left. They always keep their most expensive, famous guitar (at the time) in a case.. usually signed by the artist, and covered in gold or silver or something crazy like that.

  • @nugsalad

Sorry I didn't get that part. There is just do much to see that I couldn't get it all into this video. We have been talking about possibly a second video one day. I'll try to get this area in that one if I do it.

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • @rickbell7 Haha niiice! I go there quite often, it is guitar heaven. So many guitars you actually have to watch where you step or you might break something. My only complaint is they don't carry many old folky or classical guitars, which are my two favorite types of acoustic. Plenty of Martins and Taylors though ;)

  • Gosh!

Never saw so many guitars in a single place!

  • This is Heaven......Oh wait this isn't if it were the guitars are free...And they would have custom made guitars....And if it were guitar heaven they'd allow me to make a brand named Vickson.

  • mecca?

  • seems to stock TOO much fender. i barely saw any other brands. wheres all the ESP's wheres all the Deans? where are all the shecter and ernie ball?

  • @prototypep4 they aren't stocked because they're shit.

  • where is that???? its cool when i know where it is i'll go and buy one

  • @claudia949

Hi. Dave's G.S. is in LaCrosse WI.

It is worth the drive for sure.

    Rick

  • Wow...I wouldnt dare to go there.... i wouldnt go out again!

  • I thought I was in heaven

  • @weerpool14

It is an awesome store! As much time as I spend in there, I still can't get enough of it. Great place to spend a Saturday afternoon!

    Rick

  • I bought my Custom Shop '59 Les Paul from these guys back in '04. Out of the dozen of so Historic Les Pauls I've owned, my '04 R9 from Dave's is my favorite. Super nice folks to deal with. Great instruments, parts, and service! I wouldn't hesitate at all to make another expensive purchase from these cats.

    Dave's Guitar Shop is top-notch!

  • @Flametopology

Thanks! Yes, I completely agree. These guys are the best. I get in there often and can't get enough of the place.

    Rick

  • wow Rick! Thanks for the tour, my friend! Simply amazing! - joe

  • @CastleOfThoughts: Hi Joe! I know you are more of a keyboard person, but I thought you might like this one.

    Rick

  • Its My Paradise!!

  • @iplayitmyway: Thanks for watching! Hope you can get in there some day. Great store!

    Rick

  • any lefty guitars

  • @RileyyDay: Yes. He has an entire rack with left-handed guitars. Strats, Les Pauls, and others. There are even some left-handed acoustic and bass guitars.

I'll see if I can get some of them on a new video.

    Rick

  • that makes our local guitar shop look like crap its a tiny shop that hold about 5 electrics, 6 acousticks (no bass) and 3 electric bass guitars then again it has alot of equipment

  • @DeathByMurdero0o: Believe it or not, Dave started out much the same, many years ago.

There is hope for your little store as well!

    Thanks for watching!

    Rick

  • not much hope no, his luck with his store is he lived in a small populated area with mostly old ppl and hardly any musicians

  • drove from northern IL to go there so worth.

  • @NOWNVR: That's a true testament! A great road trip.

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • Thats a seriously nice collection this guy has must of taken him years to source all those guitars!

  • @Lukerz93: Many years. I remember his first store when he scarcely had 20 guitars on hand! That was MANY years ago!

  • Absolutely awesome!! I gotta get into that shop!!

  • @stardiner: It's a great place. And they are really cool too!

  • omfg!!!!!!!i want every gibson in ther!!!!!!!!

  • It's an amazing place and great people too!

    Rick

  • My god look at all those Richs, my friend tried to find some in Canada and all THREE of them are in British Columbia

  • Thanks for watching. Wow! Only three in all of BC!

Might be worth a road trip to Dave's one day.

    Rick

  • It would be sooooooooooo cool to go there!!!

How much guitars do you think are in there?

  • I think every guitar player should see Dave's at least one time in their lives. It is that cool!

Gosh, I really don't know how many he has there. Just guessing, I'd say well over a thousand guitars...?

    Rick

  • Awesome, Rick. I had no idea a store could have so many guitars for sale. How many did you buy? I'm getting closer to choosing a ukelele.

Thanks for sharing. Those are his private guitars? Wow.ensational and it looks like he has doubles plus.

    Aegan

  • Hi Aegan! Welcome! Glad you found this one.

How many did I buy? Gosh. Hard to count, but most of my guitars and studio equipment came from Dave's.

Each one of those guitars in his private collection are unique...and those are not for sale.

...Oh and yes, he does have a few ukuleles there too...LOL.

Thanks fos coming by, my friend!

    Rick:)

  • w000000000000000w heaven

  • I agree! Awesome store. Great people too! Love that place.

    Thanks for stopping by.

    Rick

  • Wow!!!

    That's really big!!

The guitar shop where i live is not even close to the size of that one!! ^_^

    ~riley~

  • It is a fantastic place. Such a privilage to have this store right here. I've known Dave for many years and have watched the store grow from a very humble start to this.

    Thanks for visiting!

    Rick

  • That's really cool. I am leaving in a minuet to go there today! Looking at some Taylors.:) Maybe we'll see you there. I usually pop up and say hi to Dave when I'm there.

    Cheers!

    Rick

  • Cool! Dave and I go back a long time. I've known him for over 25 years. A true class act he is.:)

    Rick

  • That was amazing, I really wish i could go there

  • At 4:00 on the top row the second farthest to right is a genuine 59 les paul, I know cause ive been there several times.

  • I get in there often...even if it's just to hang out! Who knows? Maybe we have even been in there at the same time and never knew it.

    Great place, Dave's!

    Rick

  • God i really want to work at a guitarshop.....

  • Yeah, that could be a "dream" job.

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • haha you probaly think im crazy but that IS my enviroment of choice haha. it probaly dosent pay the best but i love to fiddle with guitars(no pun intended)

  • No, not crazy at all. Just passionate about music and guitars. Nothing at all wrong with that.

    Rick

  • They have pretty much the best repairman in the world also.

  • You are sure right about that. The best I have ever met.

    Awesome place, Dave's!

    Thanks for watching.

    Rick

  • 2:14 to 2:18 u can see my fav. guitar.

    the white ibanez iceman. cool.

i love that place i go there a lot, and i think they are kind of annoyed by me because

i usually just go there to try guitars and

they always aks me to buy something.

    lol.

but they are all awesome people.

    also very nice.

    this is my fav. store.

  • Coooool! We've probably seen each other in there and didn't even know it! LOL!

I usually hang out by the basses, Or in the Acoustic room.

    See you at Daves!

    Rick

  • WOOW This is the best shop on Earth :D

    Sev

  • Yes, and right here in LaCrosse. And this wasn't all of it! ...and ALL for guitars and related items!

    Rick

  • i live in la crosse and ive been there its frickin awesome

  • HOLY CRAP! That place looks incredible! I'd love to go there, but I live in New York :( Anyway, great video! 5/5

  • It's worth a road trip one day!

Not only is it a cool place, but the staff are all really cool people.

But I'm biased because I'm in there so much!

  • Awesome!!!!

Reminds me of the Gibson Showcase here in Nashville at Opry Mills!

  • I am so privilaged to have this store right in my back yard so-to-speak. Was just in there today again!

    Gibson Showcase sounds cool too!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I couldn't say it better!!!

    Awesome place and awesome people!

  • BACK AGAIN FOR A SECOND LOOK.ARE WE IN HEAVEN .Quintin:)

  • Hi Quintin!

You are welcome here any time my friend!

If this is Heaven, then I sure must spend a LOT of time there. LOL!

I love it in there. Even the smell of all those new guitars and amps, etc...gosh, it MUST be Heaven!

Come back any time. You're always welcome, my friend!

    Rick

  • Wow, this is some shop!!!!

i can't believe how many vintage guitars he has!!!!

    Awesome!!!!

  • Hi H.G.731! Sorry it took so long to reply. Guess I haven't been here for a while.

It is documented fact that Dave has the largest display of vintage guitars in the world.

This is a place that every musician should see at least once in their life.

Gosh, and I get to go in there all the time.

It is truly a privilage to have Dave's Guitar Shop right here in town!

Thanks for stopping by my friend!

    Rick

  • Rick..., this paradise...

I could watch this again and again.

    Fantastic Chop - MASTERCLIP

    Mario

  • Thank you Mario! I know how much you love music. Knew you would like this.

You can watch this any time you want my friend!

    Rick

  • OMG that shop is amazing, I would LOVE to go there one day!!!

  • Thanks Jordan! Dave is a good friend of mine and I'm sure he would he honoured to see you too!

Going there Friday. I'll say hi for you!

    Rick

  • Hey Rick Awesome Store. You know I picked up a cheaper electric acoustic about 4 months ago thinking that I might make some time to learn to Play. But I just can't train my fingers to go where I want them to. Give Me A Saxophone and I can Play all day. But that Guitar just ties my fingers in a Knot. You know your located right across the Lake from me you could just drive over here every week and give me some lessons... lol... or every other. Ken

  • That's funny ken! I'm exactly the opposite! Couldn't play sax to save me. Remember, LaCrosse is on the Western coast of WI. But since I am now unemployed...Hmmmmmm.

Been to the UP by Escanaba...used to race at Bark River...but never been to the lower...yet.

No doubt though, Dave's is a special place. It satrted in a tiny storefront 25 years ago! I've known Dave from the start too...very nice guy!

    Rick

  • Freakin' AWESOME!!!

Entire walls of Fender Strat, Telecaste, Mustang, Dobro (!!!) on the left when you entered Peavy Classics and Fender Hotrod in Fender wall. Vintages and... omg...

When i'll die, i want just THIS as paradise!!!

Thank you Rick 4 this great Video!!! 5*

  • Thought you would like this, being a guitar player and all! Wow! you really know your stuff! Cooool!

Dave is a good personal friend of mine, so I'm in there a LOT! I'll give greetings from Italy this week when I go in there!

    Rick

  • Yeah, thanks.

He really deserve greetings, nd more...

    What a wonderful place...

    Lucky you!!!

    Thanks Rick 4 this... :)

  • My pleasure, Friend! Dave is really a cool guy...and a brilliant musician as well! Come back to this whenever you need to smile! :)

    Rick

  • Dave has more guitars than Guitar Center!!! I would spend all day there. Thanks Rick for the big smile.

  • Hi Quintin!

I know what you mean. I HAVE spent all day in there...on many days!

Glad it put a smile on your face! That's awesome! You ROCK!

    Rick

  • Gorgeous place - so tidy and color coordinated and no kids shredding on pointy guitars! Bliss.

  • It just happened to be unusually quiet in there that afternoon.

Not a lot of "shredding" goes on in there. But tha late afternoon jam sessions are a BLAST! ...and yes it can get quite loud in there sometimes.

Yup, I love the place. Go there as often as I can!

  • Oh yes, I have to make another comment. In your message you said that this is a "LITTLE GUITAR STORE" Will you please define LITTLE?????

  • Well....uhhhh...it's smaller than Wal-Mart! ...At least a little smaller anyway.

    Rick!

  • One of the old Wal-Marts, or the new improved Super Wal-Marts?

  • Hmmmmm....probably the new, since there really aren't any of the old ones left around here. Good point though!

    Rick

  • The reason that I asked that question is because the Super Wal-Marts around here are getting bigger every time that they make a new one.

  • I know. Soon they will have to have their own postal codes...Even two for some stores!

    LOL!

    Rick

  • I have never seen so many guitars in one place before. Awesome!!!!

  • Yea, I have spent countless hours in there Dave is a very good friend of mine.

Waht a privilage it was to be allowed to do this video in there!

    Rick

  • This is the cooolest place on the planet. :D
