1. sate side its called the G35/G37, Japan its called the skyline

2. All pass GT-Rs were based on the Skylines

3. the R35 is not based on a skyline, so Nissan just called it a R35 cause it wouldn't make sense.

4. to stay true to the GT-Rs pass Nissan released the prototype as the "skyline"
