Hi, I think it's a great sounding bass. Maybe you should pay some attention to a proper setup of the neck and bridge. If you buy it second hand, take a look at the prices in you music shop first. These basses aren't very expensive if you buy them new. Good luck!
I', 16 years old and I've been playing the bass for 2 years now. And I want to buy a bass guitar. My neighbour is selling Fender squier affinity jazz bass guitar. It looks the same as in the video, but I just wanted to ask if you would recommend me this bass. I'm not a specialist so I just wanted to know someones opinion who has this bass.
@kettsuke €300 just for the bass? that's ridiculous! the price of the bass brand new is 173USD, convert that to euros and the bass is worth around €125. you should try looking for music stores that sell squier bass packages. you can't go wrong with a jazz or precision bass - also check out ibanez sr300, sx basses and aria basses.
@Lordiownage He's using a $300 dollar effects board which costs more than the guitar itself. I'm sure he owns many different basses, he is probably just showcasing this one.
I'm 13 years old and I've been playing bass for 1& a 1/2 years now. Right now I have a Ritter p-bass, In this guitar shop near me I've seen a Affinity Squire J-bass, it's only £200. Would you recommend me buying it? Thanks. :)
the sound is good at best for the price of the bass alone also because of the use of cheaper wood for the body causes the control panel to be torn out if you try to yank out the cord, and the "horn" (the part with the strap hook) completely broke off(i never droped it or swung it around just broke for its own weight) where it meets the body. took it to GC and they refunded me store credit got an other and the same things happened within a month.
Dude it's me againg (i hope i'm not bothering) as i said i'm getting this in one month but im just curious i hear that this pack comes with some accesories (besides the bass and the amp) but what accesories it includes? sorry for bothering you again. hope you can help me. thanks :)
packs always come with the pretty standard stuff so its gonna be like a gigbag, patch chord, a tuner, a couple picks, strap etc etc and the bass and amp which you already mentioned lol
It includes a bass guitar, an amp, cords, headphones, tuner, gig bag, and an official Fender Bass Beginner's Tutorial CD. All for $340 CDN :D Totally worth it imho
Hi! Dude you're awesome with the bass...i'm a guitar player but recently decided i'm going to buy myself a bass as a birthday gift. I am not a bass player but because i have played guitar for about 4 years i dont suck haha i was going to buy a precision (squier) but a few weeks ago saw exactly this bass at the store and i think i like this a lot more...and btw you make it sound reaally nice...do you recommend this bass ? thank you :)
Hi weezerAlien, go for it man! Buy that bass. But beware, every individual bass is different, so keep your eyes and ears open. Also don't forget that I added a bit of compression on this recording. Good luck!
Yeah i actually tried a couple of those and a precision (that comes in a pacj too) and i choose the one that sounded better, now i have to pay 100 dolars and in one month the bass will be mine :D
You are awesome ;) oh and im drunk btw so sorry if i wrote something wrong :S
I think Squier offers great value for money, and has the Fender tone. Don't worry about strings, you can buy a set of light strings, like size .040 .060 .080 .100.
I wanna buy my brother this for his Birthday as a first gift, could some one maybe tell me if it's a good idea? He likes fenders, is new, and needs the strings to beable to be held down easy.
Is it very heavy beacuse i once came across a 4 string bass and when I kinda lift the bass in one hand, it left like my arm is going to break. Please help me see if it is THAT heavy...Thanks!
any major fret issues? i need a backup fretted bass (my main is fretless) and im worried about fret issues, like reoccurring fret buzz, or sharp edges
Hi! Do you have to take it in to a store for that, or is it something you do yourself? And do you know if the pickguard can be changed? I'm looking to get one.
Hi SeoulSarah, If you've never seen a soldering iron before I recommend you'd have somebody else replace your pickups or electronics. And sure, the pickguard can be changed. Good luck finding a bass!
Would this be a good bass for someone whos learning? Im trying to buy one im just scared of buying something that wont sound good.

Hey, I've got a P-bass and am considering trading it for a J. I know the J is more versatile, but can it get the same warm tones as the P?

Well there's nothing fragile about this bass. Everything seems solid so I'd say go for it!

Hey man. I was just wondering about the durability on this thing. Given I take care of my instrument, how long do you think it will last?

I love this video as it shows that squier basses can sound awesome in the right hands.
Ive owned American,Japenese and Mexican Precisions and i love precision basses.
The Fender Snobs will hate this video because it sounds so good on such a cheap bass.
Good on ya Squier your doing the Bass community proud
