i practiced with a picture and i was very happy with my results, but recently i have been using laptop for pictures and every time i draw it does not work and looks bad,im thinking its because i cant see the detail on pc screen do u think its best if i use picture instead? do see clear detail of what i am copying??
@vinny111 I always use both these days :) I use the paper copy to get the scale correct and the computer screen to zoom in for detail. It's quite hard to draw something vertical and then draw it horizontally on a surface because the perspective changes. That's why I have the piece of paper i scale up from. :)
This has been really helpful, i always had no clue about pencil led and what the numbers meant o.o i dont really swap and change pencils when i draw nor am i any good at shading. But i shall learn! I've always used my finger to blend... oops xD
Thanks so much for these tutorials. I never know what to smudge with and I used to use my fingers and found it always went wrong but I never knew why :)
I adore u I'm only 11 and I love watching ur videos and I'm going to hit the subscribe button right now! I've always wanted to be an artist and ur videos are helping me accomplish that!
@Destro7000 Oh I cannot draw a person from memory. If the person is sitting in front of me I can do that too. I need a structure to work from. Thats whay my paintings are abstract. A nice relief from the precision of the drawings.
Thanks for these tutorials. It is always nice to see how others work. I was just wondering if you ever use fixative on your graphite drawings before you put them in your portfolio cases?
@Polarlichtengelchen Thank you :) I'm me,... No I never have, I'm self taught, this is just my hobby I would love to turn into something more one day... If you want to learn more go watch my Youtube story... it will tell you everything :)
I know what you mean! I just looked for a hair tutorial and I watched one and I was like : " I have to do all that for hair roots..." But I guess that's what makes drawing (and painting) interesting. :)
Thanks for the tips, I like the blending tip, I blended with my finger and sometimes/even often had fingerprints on the drawings. I've tried to blend with average paper too, but it didn't blend at all. So thanks for that tip! Oh, also I'd like it if you make a hair tutorial too, because hair is a pretty difficult thing to draw. :)
@TwiponTV You're welcome. Long hair is my nightmare because it is so time consuming and it is something I can definately improve on, but I will make a tutorial on it :)

Do you always use a reference? Or have you found that qith a couple pieces you can draw a person who's in your memory?
