  • You can try sea salt, because sea salt is good for skin

  • this might work fine if you've only had your skin for 16 years. mine is older and more delicate!

  • i recently went on holiday 2 the sunshine states lol n i got a beautiful orange tan i used this scrub 4 a week n my tan dramatically faded so it isnt all that n b careful it can make you look pale n washed out then eventually my face started to get small cuts and indents from the lemon . but its ur choice n perhaps if you use it less frequently its better for you plus i heard that lemon dries out your skin leaving you with wrinkles so be sure to moisturise xx

  • "my name is Julia and I'm from Estonia" its like a music!

  • you mean, "it's like a SONG?"

  • whatever smartASS

  • her second picture is so beautiful!!

  • ESTONIA, WOOO! :D:D

  • She's pretty

  • what are the quantity of lemon yogourt and salt you have to blend together??

  • i use that every single blooooooooooody day b4 she said anything jus i dont use salt daw wori guys ive been using it 4 years :1st time it tingles like heeeeeeellllllllllll n it feels like needles are penetrating through ur skin ,2nd time it stings but by the 3rd time u get used 2 it n it feels nice and tingly and the tingle is good bcoz it means the lemon is exfoliating the dead skin

  • What's the ratio for each ingredient?

  • wow... lemon and salt?! that sounds really harsh. i think im gonna try sugar. XD

  • the juice from one small lemon, diluted in a whole cup of yougurt, will not hurt your skin unless it is unnaturally sensitive already.

  • I also said ; "IIIIIIIII'd never .." ( notice the I ^o)- )

  • I MEANT THE ACID.

  • What, the acit ? .. Next time you reply, let me know what you are talking about ;)

  • why not you try it 1st and tell urs how it feels? maybe you can give us a good review about it. (: fordmodels wld love to hear from you and maybe.. the people watching this video and had read your comment would DIE to know.

  • Relax, woman- I haven't killed your family ... Jesus!

  • wow.. lemon, yogurt, and salt is usually what i have for breakfast

  • does it work?

  • is this woman a certified teacher?

  • i love the way she talks!

  • are there negative effects of puting lemon on your face?

  • only if you have really sensitive skin that would react to the citric acid.

  • Quite good tip, BUT I would rather use sugar instead of salt, because it can also be used for very sensitive skin. -> Salt crystals are, unlike sugar, sharp-edged!

  • she looks like heidi klum in the first pik!!

  • This actually sounds pretty good, but for sensitive skin I would recommend using baking soda instead of salt as the abrasive - I've tried salt scrubs and they were too harsh to use on my face.

Chemical exfoliants are the best, though - my skin has been looking so much smoother and nicer since I started using BHA lotion. Manual scrubs like this are really best if you already have very good skin and need a quick fix on a rough day, not necessarily as a long-term solution.

  • Actually.

My dad is one of the promoters of Dermalogica. :] He helped make the product. All of the acids used in the product are to help treat your imperfections.

Dermalogica is probably one of the best skincare lines out there besides from Sheercover.

I have used it and I honestly, get complimented on my smooth, soft, firm skin every day.

Before you start attacking on someones products, get the name spelled correctly. Kthanx.

  • wot has spelling a brand correctly got to do with how effective it is. as for attacking???whos attacking apart from u. its clear that how much profit u make from the product effects ur daddy very much which is y ur over reacting sweetheart

  • natural ingrediants is the most effective, healthy and cheapest way to care for your skins needs. Products such as dermologica are based on chemicals which actually dont do much good for your skin in the long run. Its a waste of money and their hidden intentions are to keep the profits coming in. Thats dermilogica for you.

  • i use dermalogica's pre-cleanse and it is by far the best cleanser i have ever used. Different products work differently with different skin types.

  • i just used this last night- it works GREAT! my skin was immediately softer and clearer. i LOVE it!

  • I mixed up and used this facial scrub this morning. Julia didn't specify amounts so I used the juice of 1 medium lemon, one small container plain ypgurt and enough kosher salt to make it pretty grainy. It worked great. I even received a compliment on my face before telling anyone about the scrub. I never wear any makeup at all, so my friend could tell the difference in my skin tone and texture. I refridgerated the rest...

  • Brilliant, I'm going to try it!

  • I've used this on my skin if your hesitant about the lemon juice, yogurt, and salt thing.I use sugar, olive oil,and some water in the shower and it's a great exfolliant, but test it on your hand first before you do so on your face.

  • I'm kinda scared to put salt on my face LOL,would it work without it?

  • Salt is just a mild abrasive. If you don't use salt, just trim a piece of loofah sponge into a small pad shape using scissors and use that to gently scrub your face.

Salt is pretty harmless if you use pretty fine grained salt. Don't use huge nuggets of pretzel salt on your face; you're trying to exfoliate your skin, not marinating it. Just don't get it into any open zit wounds. Salt and lemon juice in open wounds = PAIN. And don't scrub hard. Be gentle, whether you use salt or a loofah.

  • would sugar work as well as salt?

  • sugar could work as an abrasive, but sugar also reacts with your flesh; one of the problems with sugar on skin is that sugar gets sticky. Salt dissolves somewhat as well, but won't react with your skin. The reaction is akin to carmelization, and is one of the processes of skin aging that makes old skin look old. This naturally happens from the inside; no need to make it happen from the outside too. Use salt.

  • pretzel salt....lol...there are people who would actually do that...

  • i use it on my legs arms elbows everything... it's good cause... if you scrub too much it will start to tingle if you go too far...and then burn if you really go too far...lol..

  • LOL, you mentioned burning- I read a while back that Queen Latifah used a beauty rigiment (?) on her face that had baking soda in it. She glows, so I was all, "I'm gonna try baking soda too!" ummm... It didn't work out well. In fact, my face was LITERALLY BLEEDING and felt like it was on fire!

  • I'd like to try the salt mixture, but you can see why I'm hesitant. I made a paste of baking soda and water and rubbed it in the my skin. It took days for my skin to heal. No joke.

  • ugh... that happened to i guy i knew in j. high. lol. he had acne and feel asleep w/ toothpaste on his face... ah. he was a jerk, so it was kind of nice. just don't use too much?? idk. kind of scary.

  • Use Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. It is especially for sensitive skin. You can use it everyday. It has rice protien in it...an ingredient that has kept Asian women's skin beautiful for centuries. And no I don't work for Dermalogica, I just LOVE their products.

  • usally baking soda and water is used to heal bug bites. ouch though if it hurts on bug bites i can probably understand your pain

  • What is the recipe for this or do you just guess with it?

  • Has anyone actually used this yet? If so, how did it feel and what were your results?

  • oooo im gonna try that

  • ooh.. immma try that

  • The reason this works so well is that lactic acid (from the yogurt) and citric acid (from the lemon) are both alpha hydroxy acids; the salt is an abrasive, which, when used with the yogurt and lemon, enhances the exfoliation effect of the acids. Most lotions that have alpha hydroxy acids use glycolic acid, but citric or lactic acids are also effective.

  • you're smart:)

  • thank you!

  • does it have any negative effects? does it damage skin tissue at all?

  • The only side effect of exfoliation with any alpha hydrox acid is that it makes your skin more sensitive to sun damage and sun burn. Don't do facial scrubs in the morning; they're meant to be done in the evening so your skin can recover overnight. Always use sun screen. My fav. is Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer dry touch sun block; it doesn't leave my skin greasy or shiny.

  • great tip... thanks!

  • Like people have already said...AHAs are in the lemon juice, plus yogurt softens and moisturizes while absorbing excess oil. The salt of course exfoliates just like the lemon juice. :)

  • would coffee grounds (already used to make coffee or unused?) work instead of salt?

  • Depends. Are you talking about a French roast or something considerably lighter?

  • Coffee grounds would probably stain your face brown. Just use salt. Why does everyone seem to object to salt as a mild abrasive?

Other than salt, there's very finely milled walnut shells, as used in St.Ives' apricot scrub, but there's no way you're going to be able to mill walnut shells as well as they do. Salt is just fine.

  • Apricot scrub is bad. It can leave microscopic tears in your skin.

  • The apricot scrub is a bit too coarse for my taste, but as long as we're talking about exfoliation and microdermabrasion, isn't microscopic abrasion the whole point of using a scrub? The point is to remove dead skin that isn't being exfoliated properly by natural shedding and to expose fresh skin underneith, right?

  • Yes, but not to tear the skin. Simply to slough off dead skin cells. Apricot scrubs, and scrubs that have jagged edges, can damage live skin. Also scrubs should be avoided on sensitive skin, as well as rosacea conditions. That is why I like the Dermalogica daily microfoliant.

  • Another good reason to exfoliate, is to keep pores from becoming clogged. It is one of the best things you can do for the skin. Just in a gentle way, with products that are proper.

  • I also have never performed microdermabraion so I don't know enough about it. My understanding is that it removes so many layers of skin to expose brand new skin underneath. It is considered more of a medical procedure. The reason this differs from tiny tears in the skin is that bacteria can get into those tears. This is bad!Microderm I suppose you would get products to help heal the skin.

  • Does the Dermalogica microfoliant use tiny polyethylene beads? I don't like to use products that send tiny particles of non-biodegrading plastic down the drain. That's just plainly bad for the environment. If Dermalogica doesn't use them, great, but if they do, I'd prefer a natural exfoliant, such as a loofah pad or *finely ground* nut shell scrubs.

  • No. Dermalogica is the best!!The daily microfoliant uses rice protien powder which desolves on the skin into a creamy concoction. It is all natural and biodegradable. The skin prep scrub uses corn. I swear it is the most awesome product. I get mine at whatgreatskin dot com. It is the cheapest I've found. They also send you samples so you can try them both out!Your skin will love you for it!Visit dermalogica dot com for more info on their products.

  • Sorry I'll have to break this up.From dermalogica dot com daily microfoliant®

  • I love them both. My Mom has Lupus, and is still able to use the Daily Microfoliant, which should really tell you something since people with Lupus have extremely sensitized skin.Let me know if you decide to try it!xoxo

  • I'll just use clearasil (sp)

  • I know people are taking shots in the dark about the mixture, but what are the real measurements of this scrub? I'm sure too much lemon with the yogurt isn't going to work well.

  • "in soviet russia, facial scrub scrubs you"

  • Hahahah

  • hahaha simpsons reference!

  • familiar Russian accent there! :)

  • Julia is Estonian.

  • is lime okies?

  • she's talking about plain yogurt.

  • Yogurt that isn't filled with artificial colours, flavors, refined sugars, etc I suppose.

  • im going to try it! does it work.

  • Hmm... all I got is Mike's Hard Lemonade, Dannon Chocolate Yogurt, and Splenda. Will it still work??

  • haha

  • Ahh, skip the facial scrub and just enjoy the evening with those ingredients.

  • Haha - will do, Eileen Ford!

  • hahahaha!

  • I love listening to her accent. No wonder her face is blemishless...

  • can you eat it afterwards?

  • ugh.......yuck

  • did she really put salt on her face? i dont believe it till i see her mix that shit and apply it.

  • I use powdered milk & sugar for the lactic acid and glycolic acid. Better for older skin...

  • mmmmm yoghurt

  • WHERE!!

  • in the vid , but i was just sayin i like the stuff lol

  • actually, my aesthetician advised me against making this sort of scrub because salt is not perfectly spherical and the jadded edges can microscopically tear away at your skin. Buy a real scrub with perfectly round granules.

  • pacific much?

  • wha?

  • Actually, you are correct. I am also an aesthtician and I would recommend Dermalogica exfoliants.

  • wait what was in that yougurt

  • ...Are you guys kidding? This girl is beautiful. I guess most people who viewed this haven't said anything positive about her because it was one of those "known" things and unnecessary to say aloud. But uhm, yeah. Very nice tip, also!

  • agreed :)

  • lol. she's ugly.

  • no shes really cute!!

  • Yea. not very good instructions. But I would say, a teaspoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons yogurt and a PINCH of salt. I dont think leave it on for a long time either, 5 minutes should do. and rinse.

  • my beatuy tip of the day. apple cider vinegar. one tablespoon yougart and then salt. try it.

  • great idea ima try it^^

  • i would say that you use a tablespoon of yoghurt, a teaspoon of salt and a 2 teaspoons of lemon, mix it and then apply to face using small circular motions, like you're sanding a table :) then rinse off. i dont think its about keeping it on for ages like a mask its more like using it to remove the dead skin then washing clean. i would also use some sort of moisturizer after so as not to dry out the new exposed skin surface.

  • putting lemon juice on ur face alone freaken burns

  • haha. lmao i was thinking the same thing. && salt would just make it burn more

  • what is lmao??

  • Lmao is a tiny island off the southeastern coast of China near Vietnam. Right? Right? LMAO, hahahahaha!

  • LOL!!!!!!

  • fordmodels is so tacky. why are you posting childish responses? Aren't you supposed to be a legitimate presence in the modeling world?

  • you sir are annoying :)

  • Hahah! What the hell? Some intern at the Ford Offices got bored.

  • laughing my ass off

  • For the lemon do you just use the lemon juice?

  • Yes.

  • How long do you leave it on? Then you rinse?

  • Cool!!!!!!!!!!

  • oooh i'm going to try it :o)

  • I do this too, except I use honey as a substitute for yogurt. Remember to splash cold water or rub ice cube on your skin to close your pores up.

  • yikes... that's gonna hurt if it gets anywhere near your eyes!! lol

  • for the lemon, it's just the juice right?

  • Yes. Lemon juice.

  • k thanks...if you were answering my question..

  • how long do u leave it on for, just one sec then wash off?

  • When she says facial scrub, it sounds like she says facials crap. :) Just sayin'.

  • thankyou :)

  • yeah, what are the measurement ingredients?

  • See the response to AEnce's comment.

  • Estonian? yeah! lucky girl! :)

  • FYI, don't eat this facial scrub -- it's better scrubbing than tasting!

  • and it betta work!

  • ok, imma try it.

  • ...what are the measurements for the ingredients?

  • Use just a splash lemon (1 tsp), then 2 tablespoons yogurt and 2 tablespoons salt. Enjoy!
