The first time I tried this I HATED IT, the second time I liked it and the third time I Loved it! When I went into Saks to spray it from the bottle it turned really bitter on me! UGH! I hate it sprayed from the bottle
Great review. This one is not a favourite of mine, of those that I've sampled, the one I really like is 'Love', which I got a decant of for my daughter.
@Bim13North despite its lighthearted inspiration (marshmallows!!), "Love" is a well-constructed and grown-up fragrance, although, too sweet for my likings. If you like "Love", I also suggest trying Liasons Dangereuses, it's a very good fruity ;)
The 1st time I wore this, it was terrible on me. The 2nd time, he grew on me. The 3rd time I got orange blossom-myrrh. I guess it depends on your body heat, the temp, etc. This is my least favorite one in the collection.
Great review! I totally get what you mean about it being angry.
@EauMG thank you. I think SR might wear better in colder temperatures, but who knows? I can't say this is my least favorite Kilian, but it was not for me.
Very nice review. This one honestly isn't one of my favorite by kilians. Back to black, incense oud, straight to heaven and cruel intentions are very good.
i'm glad you reviewed this one, it is actually one of my favorites from the line. i think you are completely right on the description, and i agree it's not for everyone. but to me, it is gorgeous :)
awesome review as always! we havent gotten a chance to smell any of this line. i've heard a few guys in the fragrance community talk about this though. always appreciate a woman's point of view on fragrances! :)
@FragranceBros Thanks! it seems like there's always been hype about By Kilian line, so I'm steadily testing them through to see what it's all about. So far, BtoB has been my fave, and now I'm curious about Straight to Heaven and a Taste of Heaven.
This is really weird, I watched a video of yours last night and wished you would post something - then you did today! Very strange, and about Kilian too, which is a brand I've been sampling. Interesting review! Your body language tells me you don't like this (no offence meant), but I'm interested in trying more from Kilian. If only the bottles weren't SO expensive. I love the bottles & boxes, in fact all their aesthetics. Is Love worth getting a sample of? Thanks for posting, Daisy
@daisynation hi! I don't really dislike this one, and if I hide my personal jib at orange blossom and vanilla going bonkers, I might even admit that Sweet Redemption is a masterpiece. I think it is worth getting a sample of Love: it is sweet marshmallow meringue scent, but very good quality, so check it out! thanks for watching))
Good stuff, I am a big fan of the Kilian house :) and I have to admit this is one of my favorites. But if this and Love are too sweet...try Prelude to love. It's a less sweet, iris root, orange blossom and leather fragrance. Another masterpiece IMO.
@rhaybans Perhaps they are, I haven't sampled them all thoroughly, to be honest. When it comes to Kilian, it's actually difficult to judge full bottle worthy or not, because the bottles themselves are incredible
Nice to see a new review from you. Great! Since you like black bottles... have you see Jacomo No 2, No8 and No9? I keep asking people about them but no one seems to have tried them I would just like to know people's opinion about them.
@21Cauzzie I've tried Jacomo 02, it smelled like plaster and bubblegum to me, sits close to the skin. It was not bad, quite unusual, but did not grow on me, so I gave it away. I'm curious about 08, since it's supposed to be spicy tea scent, which sounds like my cup of tea ;)
@deathscythe77 Jacomo 08 is more of a spicy fruit compote; fruit pulp, tea with ginger, cardamom and cinnamon. It's not gourmand to me however; has a little freesia and steers away from any vanilla thank goodness (that would sink the composition). I love your reviews btw, hope to see more!
@21Cauzzie jacomo 08 is my favourite out of those 3. It's a spicy fruit compote, but lightened with the tea note. The bottle is lovely too, really nice black glass.
About the rasp, it could be the time of year. Most of the time I can bomb any cologne and I'm fine, but lately if I put a single squirt anywhere but my wrists, ie close to my face, I start having hayfever symptoms for an hour. I'm curious what you will think of the new Tauer cologne with it's various old school orange and orange blossom chords.
@Subparanon you might be right about the rasp, but I usually don't get it with other perfumes. I haven't got my hands on the new Tauer cologne yet, but I'll try it, out of curiosity.
I just found your channel :) Subscribed! TY for your vid's!

@WallyStinx Glad that it's working for you, I do find SR very unique. I suspect it might be better on a guy than on me.

My favorite from the L'Oeuvre Noire line is "A Taste of Heaven*.
Great review....always a pleasure to hear your take on a fragrance.

@Zepyhp thanks. I haven't tested a Taste of Heaven yet, need to get a sample first, so I might review it later.

Yes I think that No8 is the nicest. I get compliments when I wear it. No9 has a lot of orange to it like a musky version of Ralph Rocks.
