  • nice car man im in the process of trying to build a 347 but the speed shop is tryin to get me to switch to carb because there are no places to get the car tunned around here so my question is that if i just build a 306 so that the stroke stays the same and put afr heads and comp cam do i still have to get the car tuned i already have bbk cold air, bbk 70mm throttle body and egr plate, and a bbk maf calabraited for my 19lb injectors did you have to get yours tuned with just the h/c/i combo?

  • @91boltons buy a anderson PMS, wideband, and data logger, and just tune the car yourself man.

plenty of info out there to teach you how to tune.

  • @91boltons if i can make a suggestion, the 347 eats away at the outer walls of the cylinders cuz of its angle change

  • @1987MustangJared yea and they also burn oil... * end sarcasm*

347's do not have these issues...... in the 90's there was a company that made shit pistons with the rings way high on the piston, because of this they burned oil, pistons would come apart, and was reports of the blocks being torn up from piston slap.

this is all bullshit now-a-days. Even summit racing brand stroker kit doesn't do this shit.

347's are FINE, no issues compared to a 302 if built properly....

  • What do you have for gears?

  • @tjcrim 4.10's

  • Do you have any advice on buying a used foxbody?

  • @XtremeJuggernaut Mainly just look out for CRAP work, bad wiring, rust, shifting funny.

automatic's are junk, go for the 5speed's, GT's are 150-200lbs heavier from the body work. T-tops, or moon roofs almost always leak, make sure a convertible's top seals and the back window is in good condition.

  • @Xarmy187 Right now i'm looking at a stock 92 GT 5 speed. It has a little over 100k miles and the body is as straight as can be. He's asking 5250, I think if I could get it for less than 5000 then it would be a fair deal. I really want a unmolested car to start with so should I pay more for that, or should it be cheaper than a car that has already been modded? What do you think?

  • @XtremeJuggernaut if its un molested, real clean, and a notch, then I could see paying that

  • @XtremeJuggernaut ....chances are if it was stock it wasnt driven hard...but not always the case....yes that is a fair price....100k is very low milage, check out mine...they are both GT's....is this your first car?

  • @ROBBY639 I went and test drove it sunday and it was the biggest POS i've ever been in. It was so hard to get into reverse I had to use both hands. It basically felt like someone filled the transmission with gravel. Just to start it I had to push the clutch so far and hard, i thought the pedal was going to bend. This will be the first car i purchase myself but i'm 19. I'm now looking at a 2000 GT, 75k mi, $7,500. The 4.6s scare me though, very expensive parts. The hunt contines....

  • @XtremeJuggernaut ...that sucks...you dont want a car like that haha...if you have enough $ to get the 4.6's go head, not a bad motor but they are like you said "expensive" for parts & to repair...make sure after you buy it to still have 1 or 2 grand left just incase something happens(any car)....you never know how the owner drove it...and think about insurance too...i have seen many people get a car then after a while cant afford insurance then sell, keep looking for "THE ONE"

  • @ROBBY639 Well, i test drove the 00 GT last night and it was a nice car. It ran great. It was at a ucd by the way. The only thing it needed was a cam position sensor. I drove it for about 30 min by myself. I ran it to 90 and it was very smooth. I liked the car enough to make a offer of 6750. The salesman was not willing to negotiate at all, even after we ran a code reader for the cam sensor. I did learn alot though. Looking at a original owner 100k mi 02 GT next. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm!

  • @XtremeJuggernaut ...yea when you go to buy one, make sure you DO "get on it"...and make sure it sounds good....no valves clattering, not alot of vibration, not alot of squeeks...expect to put a little money into it....make sure they owner was not a hard driver on the car....make sure there are no grinds in the gears....these were all mistake i made when i bought my first one....CHECK OUT AND TEST DRIVE MORE THAN ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....that is some good advice

  • Wow that's it? No bottom end work? Damn

  • @JGB914 nope. its a oem explorer bottom end too haha. Does alright for what it is.

  • You think you can message me the list....cuz I'm at sea level and would love to spank these camaro guys

  • @JGB914 will do

  • What's ur mod list looking like now?

  • @JGB914 not enough space in the comment box to list it all... nothing special about the combo, just well thought out cheap parts

  • Hell yea on my birthday whoo!!

  • having the supercharger ported make it more likely to break?

  • @scorpionfights no, not at all, why do you say that?

  • @Xarmy187 just looks more fragile to me

  • @scorpionfights no, no issues with the blower itself. When you extend the snout to reach our belts because they are farther out then the cobra's, then you run into issues, and can snap the snout.

  • @Xarmy187 okay thnx!

  • Wow that was a healthy pull haha. I love how even after 60 the needle only slowed down marginally. Great torque! And what a sound too

  • Nice car man. Its gonna be sick once its blown

  • @917Jolly indeed

  • nice lets see 120-top on gps now

  • dame that thing pulls hard

  • Vid turned out well, 302. She pulls strong all the way across. Would love to see the difference down here in my elevation.

  • @steppnstone629 yea me too, like I've said before, If I was at sea level, I doubt I would want a supercharger or anything because the car would be MUCH faster, and it would be fun to troll people at the track with a 302.

  • car pulls nice...any idea how much hp u kickin

  • Thnx for the vid army~~!! what parts are you waiting on still for the s/c?

  • damn..makes me want to drive mine..its covered up in garage with the snow outside..so i got to wait till spring! cant wait to see the supercharger install video

  • Can't wait to hear that Eaton whine while you go through the gears!

  • got me entertained

  • Nice vid 302! Car pulls pretty damn strong, especially at that elevation. I would love to see some times at sea level....

  • @tholland84 low 12's for sure at sea level, could do 11's if I ever learn to drive.

With the supercharger i'm adding very soon, I hop to run 10's eventually up here, so it should be interesting :D

  • Man i don't care if your 5,000 feet up, that Stang hauls ass..

  • @Pendragon1989 haha, thank's dude. Like I said its down about 50hp just from the elevation, so it would be a whole other animal at sea level.

  • @Xarmy187 I hear ya man! Indeed it would! I used to have a old 1986 Stang GT, with a shift kit in it, I have a few vids uploaded, feel free to check them out

  • Are the polyruethane or however you spell it motor and trans mounts good? I'm planning on doing that to my car soon.

  • @GarageCrazy yes, I noticed the car was more solid with them, when you rev the motor, it moves the whole car where before it really didn't because of all the flex.

it does make the car rattle, and shake more, but I would say its worth it for sure.

Mine have held up well two, over 2 years of abuse, and they still look brand new. i think "energy suspension" is who makes them.

  • @GarageCrazy Energy Suspension is where I got mine from. I love 'em.

  • @blindskater200 Yeah thats the company im gonna buy them from as long as their good. What are you running in your mustang?

  • @GarageCrazy BBK SSI intake with 30 LB injectors, Edelbrock E-street heads, B303, 1.6 RR's, double roller timing set, MAF conversion with 80 mm Granatelli MAF housing, Flowtech equal length longtubes, underdrive pulleys, and that's about it lol. I've done a lot to it. Got a couple of vids of it. It's not quite finished yet.

  • @blindskater200 Damn i'll be watching your vids when ya put em up. I'll get a vid of my car up within a month or 2. After i get it half decent.

  • @GarageCrazy Mine still needs a tune. Before I converted to mass air, it was a complete POS at any RPM below 2,000, but above that it was a complete animal. So, I'm pumped to see what she can do when I get it completely set up and tuned. What you doin' to yours?

  • @blindskater200 Yeah I just saw your vid of it idling. Mine has 3:73's posi, rebuilt trans, but needs a throw out bearing...lowered 2", short throw shifter, cai, no engine mods yet but soon to come it a full intake, injectors, head longtubes, cam. Right now i have shortys with a pypes offroad x pipe with ford racing mufflers, cobra front bumper, full sound system. Nothing big going for it yet but like i said give me a month or 2 and it'll be half decent.

  • @GarageCrazy What size injectors are you planning on running? In my Official Mustang Technical Reference & Performance Handbook, it says the stock injectors are good to 300 HP at 39 psi of fuel pressure. You'd be good with the 19 lbs/hr. injectors but if you're planning on modding it even more in the future, step up to 24's. 24's can feed up to 400 HP. I've got 30's in mine (came with my intake when I bought it) and they're just completely over kill.

  • @GarageCrazy FYI, the '93 Cobra's had 24's and they were considered overkill. The Cobra was intended to provide reserve capacity in extreme operating conditions. The 24's were only utilized for a small portion of their flow capacity most the time they were operated. And, if you didn't already know this, the Cobra had it's own unique cam (similar but less aggressive than H.O cams) GT-40 heads, and the GT-40 intake. So, your mods would put you around Cobra ratings, so I think 24's are the max.

  • what are you pushing

  • @njas6 pushing?

  • @Xarmy187 hp. putting down at the wheels

  • @njas6 at this elevation around 280 or so, at sealevel I would be around 330 or 340 to the tires.

  • @Xarmy187 seems soo much quicker. nice car

  • @njas6 well the entire car is set up pretty well, so it moves out better then a lot of cars.

supercharger should be real fun. thanks for the comments man!

  • LOL im in the same boat. Just went out for a cruise and the car is a tad of a handfull but i want more too lol.

  • This video makes me wonder why you are putting the blower on? The car hauls big time without it, got bored with the N/A power?

  • @AyeItsMike hah, it's never enough my friend. never.

I lose about 50-60 horsepower due to the elevation... if I was at sealevel, I'm sure I would be happy with how it is currently built.

With the powerloss due to the elevation... I'm not happy at the moment. :/

Your question makes me happy though, Makes me feel like its faster then I think it is, haha.
