  • American moms to be should be informed about this. We should let our bodies tell us what to do.

  • did this in the hospital with my daughter it was an amazing experience..

  • what a cute baby!!!

  • What a beautiful treasure....unfortunately the nursing of my twins was cut short after only 2 weeks. My mother and husband both made hateful remarks while trying to nurse and using a breast pump. She said i looked like and old milk cow , and i guess i believed her. Totally broke my heart and confidence. I was 19 at the time, ten years later i feel so lonely that i was too young and stupid to brush off the comments and share that bond with my babies

  • I love how so many family members get to experiment the joy of birth. When I had my son they only allowed my husband and one other person. When my mom "sneaked" in it almost started a riot among the nurses. My doctor had to tell them it was okay.

  • US women know all this same stuff. Stop doggin' on the US. Nobody stops anybody from unwrapping the baby and laying the baby on her breast. People are people everywhere, EVEN in the US.

  • @chilaquillez Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! When I had my daughter I didn't know any better. but when I had my son, I had a nurse-midwife and she had me do that. This is a beautiful birth. Sorry I discounted other people's experiences! Mea culpa.

  • @Lisarata @Lisarata Actually this was my request right when my son was born which was completely ignored. They took my son and wrapped him up. When I received him I began to unwrap him to have skin to skin contact and the nurses began to scold me for doing so. I still did it and I was treated like I was a bad mother for doing so. My son was just fine and still is. Sometimes modern medicine can be such snobs as to whats right for newborns and new moms.

  • @chilaquillez Right on Momma! same thing with my first child....i was the last person to touch her. They don't give a damn and never will. She never took to my breast. I'm not a religious woman, but what they did in the hospital was immoral. There was nothing wrong with her, but the family got to hold her before I did. Why is this normal practice? It's a ridiculous racket of overpaid heath care personnel.

  • US women know all this same stuff. Stop doggin' on the US.

  • @kimbo5106 I suspect you're making your assumption off limited sample size, Kimbo. Arabs are far from the only people whose women have large nipples, it isn't a racial trait. you're taking a look at a single woman's anatomy and then foolishly extending it to everyone of her ethnicity. Seriously. You cannot actually think that to be a rational response, can you?

  • @kimbo5106 youre an idiot. when a woman gives birth her breasts get darker and the nipples and areola get swollen. even if she has ntaurally small nipples and pink areola they darken dramatically during pregnancy and become big afterwards. youre a moron. the titty wasnt made for you, it was made for a baby.

  • This happened with my second child was an amazing experience having him crawl to his food :D

  • It's not about the mothers breasts looking a certain way-perky or round or firm..It's the act being displayed.

    It's nice I think:)

  • Very good advice!

This newborn appeared so exhausted... or is this the rule?! I had tears in my eyes WHEN the infant had, after a sheer eternity, successfully docked on!

  • wow!!

  • I'm not sure why I'm watching this...I was looking at a bunny...then a breast machine...and now I'm here.

  • @BerkoKaitlin Over a year later but I followed the same 'path' here ._.

  • this is s sweet and natural. it makes me cry to remember those same moments after i had each of my children.

if a woman never experiences this they are missing out on one of the BEST feelings God gave us to feel

  • luckely i got to feed my daughter within a half hour after she was born, to bad i don't have a video of that!

look at those sweet little eyes, and those tiny little hands, it's so beautiful how a baby does this on it's own... <3

  • WILL!? HE!? GO!? ALL THE WAY!?.... IT"S GOOD!!!!

Seriously though, we should never overlook the benefits of letting things occur naturally, unless there is cause for emergency action, in which case, a hospital is still the best place to be.

  • it is a nice video, very educational, and tender.

    We are wonderfully made.

  • I feel kind of bad for watching this it seems like a very personal moment between mother and child. But that baby was beautiful. :)

  • beautiful. i wish i was given that opportunity with my children. mine were both taken away almost immediately... maybe with a 3rd ill get to do this!

  • Omg I feel the same way I did not get to feed until they brought my babies back to me I have two as well,, I don't know about any more but if it happens I think i'll take that route as well. Despite the Doctors

  • completely beautiful and yet so humbling...

  • This is so beautiful..... and amazing. I watched it over and over.

  • absolutely beautiful. I wanted to cry. Congrats to whom gave such beautiful life.

  • Wow. Shows how NATURAL Breastfeeding really is.

  • Amazing

  • wonders shall never end... we are trully like mammal animals. this is fantastic!

  • I wish this experience to every woman. MORE Power to you. Educate and prepare for breastfeeding ahead of time. As we are, ALL babies are seeds entrusted to us by The Lord, they deserve the best advantage to become the best in their own lives.

  • Amazing!! Babies are born so amazingly ready for life! When we treat them as individuals who deserve our tenderest care and yet our respect they never cease to amaze us!

  • ci bien

  • Thanks to everyone that made this video possible. Someday maybe breastfeeding will become mainstream.

  • It was mainstream all the way until the 20th century, when people thought that nature wasn't the best for "civilized" people and demonized the breast.

  • EXACTLY.

Demonizing anything feminine as weak, inferior, and needing improving upon is pretty much the way of life these days.

  • I completley agree! A woman in my area was arrested actually, for breastfeeding her baby "in public". She was in her car, and had a privacy blanket up and everything, but she was arrested for "Public Indecency"

    its SUCH bullshit. It's natural!

  • It's strange that people feel that children are better off with cow milk, treated with outdated vaccines, given ANTI~BIOTICS {think about that word} at every chance, and get sick. Breastmilk has many amazing components, a shame that much of the medical world still ignores despite proof.

  • I'm doing fine 12, all the help I ever could have wanted already.

  • awesome.

  • That is amazing!

  • I wish I was half an hour old again

  • happy 1 year of vid lol i thin k

  • Wow.. that baby knew exactly where to go for food! very precious

  • i got fed by a bottle not brestfed...

  • NerdOwnz - Well that's ok & now that you know more about the benefits of breastfeeding maybe when you have children they will get the best! Read the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by La Leche League. It's the best book on the market on this topic.

  • This is a lovely video. I've known about this for years - studies were done in Scandinavia & I saw a similar video in the 1990's. But stuff like this doesn't get much attention from the medical community & the same myths & misinformation about breastfeeding still abounds.

  • Thats great! I breastfeed my daughter, but I never knew about the breast crawl, wish I had... I will definitely try it with the next baby! It is hard to get info about breastfeeding in the U.S... even my daughter's pediatrician has given me false information, that had I followed.. I probably would have lost my milk supply.

  • MOM IS THE HERO IN THE WORLD...

  • This is just the kind of information moms should be receiving about how intelligent and beautiful our bodies are and how they work so well. I wish this was the kind of info that was being given to moms in the US.

  • this is exactly what i wanted to do when my daughter was born but unfortuntly I didnt have my regular doc and there for she did not listen to any of my birth plan it still makes me sad to this day.. some doctors are idiots ..sorry

  • It is true, my second baby did crawl to my breast to feed herself 1/2 hour after birth and I breasfeed her for 10 months , I highly recomend breastfeeding, with my first son I could only give him a month and a half , and I could see the difference in between them regarding ear infections and illness, now I regret I didnt try harder for my son, both are very healty though...very important , the pain at the begining DOES go away ! TRY is the best gift to your kids !

  • This is the best video on youtube!

  • thats cool

  • I hadn't seen this video before, but as an avid breastfeeding mom I did something similar with my second son... Breastfeeding within 20 minutes of his birth gave us a huge positive start to Breastfeeding. I highly recommend this to every pregnant woman I see!

  • AWESOME! I had heard about this video but never seen it. I wish I had done this with my babies. It's amazing how perfectly coordinated Baby is with Mom and how she knows exactly where to go entirely without prompting.

  • I wish I had been able to do this with my baby girl. I ended up with an emergency C-Section so was out for like five or six hours (Demerol makes me very, very odd). Hopefully with my next one I can have a VBAC and get to have that experience. Though my little girl nursed like a pro.

  • unbelivable!!!!

  • oh my god that is freaking AMAZING! That baby is so ALERT! Incredible. BLoody amazing.

  • newborns are amazing

  • I am a midwife and I am always trying to get mums to do this with babies, those who really want to breast feed are very enthusiastic but some new mums are not committed because they dont have the time to do this, it is such a shame tho as it is fantastic for bonding, keeping the baby warm and calm, there is no need for screeming babies if mums put babies on the chest and stroke them gently down the back

  • Breastfeeding is highest class and finest point a woman can reach. of being more than a mother....a mommy!

God Bless in a most special way all mothers that breastfeed (real love) their children.

  • Bravo Bravo Bravo!

  • This video was wonderful! It should be required viewing for all new mums. Western women too are in desparate need of information like this to get the message out that breatfeeding is proper and best, to eradicate this idiotic fallacy that breatfeeding is dirty or low-class. I breastfed all three of my children, butI wish I knew about the breast crawl. What a beautiful moment! I also would emphasize that the sooner the baby is held, massaged and breastfed, the better for baby.

  • What a beautiful video! I breastfed both my children and read about the breast crawl when I was pregnant with my first. Thank you for sharing.

  • I kind of feel a little shocked and saddened when I hear about able mothers choosing not to breast feed. It is really the best thing for the baby, it's helpful to the mother in shedding pregnancy pounds, reducing bleeding, and shrinking the uterus, and it's free and easy.

  • This video is absolutely beautiful. I love to breastfeed my baby boy and with this video I'm sure that the greatest decision of a mother is to give her baby the opportunity of that experience, not the breast crawl per se, the breastfeeding.

  • When I first saw the 'breast crawl' video it was when I was 13 and learning about infant massage. I think all new mothers should be shown this or similar videos as it really awakens them to their babies instincts. Awesome.

  • That was amazing

  • This video is the most response provaking and amazing of all that I have ever seen. Thanks sooooooooooo much!!!

  • that is so amazing!! thank so very much for sharing that! i loved it. i want to become a lacation consultant. it is so beautiful, the art of breastfeeding. i have always heard of the Breast Crawl, but never seen it until today. i have watched it twice and am in total awe! i will be breastfeeding my adopted daughter when she comes home. i am very excited!

  • That was so neat! You could almost see her thinking, "I know there's food here somewhere & I'm gonna find it!" :)

  • Excellent!!! Bollywood director should looking into this issue and should add to their movies in future.

    Tx.

  • Delivery and first contact are times during which a mother and infant need privacy. Hence nobody apart from the minimum necessary health personnel, the child's father and / or a close female relative should be present in these emotional and private moments.

The video was taken during one of our training workshop conducted for 30 delegates. We had allowed a few participants in the labour room, to learn the technique of Breast Crawl. The issue was discussed earlier with the mother and her family.

  • This is a great video, I also let my daughter breastfeed about 20 minutes after her birth. While she didn't eat much, it did encourage her to nurse on and off all day, which was great.

  • They were strange to you, but prob. not to the mother. I am a "more the merrier" kind of birther (not strangers). I had mom, husband, 2 midwives, birth asst. and invited my sis and SIL . This time (Jan. 08) all that + will have a doula, our 10yr old and our 3yr old + someone to watch the 3yr old. We are also discussing prof. photos because last time everyone was too busy helping me. Heh.

  • Institute for teh development of human potential advocates letting all babies crawl to the breast, because it makes them smarter and more likely to find solutions to their own problems. It also makes them learn to crawl faster. cool video, except, why were all those people all around her- what about privacy? I watched it with no sound, maybe they explained- i wouldn't want to be all naked in that environment, with all those strange men around.

  • Now that is a smart baby

  • AWESOME! I had heard about this video but never seen it. I wish I had done this with my babies. It's amazing how perfectly coordinated Baby is with Mom and how she knows exactly where to go entirely without prompting. So perfect. :)

  • So beautiful! This made me cry! If only it helps more babies...

  • What an awsome video, i wish WIC would make a video this good to show to expecting mothers.
