Hi Patti, I was wondering what you use to keep away the fruit tree moths & their larvae? I get these bugs on my 2 mature apple trees every year, in which we have 100's of apples that have been damaged by these bugs. Only a small handful of apples are not attacked by the worms. I ONLY use organic or nothing at all. Tell me if you have an organic secret of what to use to prevent this. (or if anyone else reading this has any tips) thanks
Patti, do u live in a rural area? I heard you say you have goats? I have 3 acres in Florida and thinking of growing my own veggies and fruits, etc. how do I find out what I can grow here? My grandparents were also from P.R. :) I haven't done it before because of illness but I think if I do this I may feel better.
Red delicious? I made that mistake too, about 35 years ago. I'd have to spray about every week to get anything you could eat. Look for varieties that are a bit disease and insect resistant. Don't start from seed. Never know what you'll get, but probably won't be anything good, and it won't be a dwarf, which is probably the way to go. Right now, I'm trying pears, which seem to be a lot less trouble than apples.
What about pruning off dead parts of the tree? We have a lime tree that we have had for about a year. When the bad winter storm came in during winter, the top of the tree was killed, so now in spring, all of the other parts of the tree were growing new leaves, but the killed parts weren't, so I trimmed them...
i dont know much about apple trees but may be if u put a beehive next to the tree it might fruit then..........
actually i think im talking shit....
its just i remember when i was a kid we had 2 holly trees in the garden......one always had berries and the other had none........i think it was like male and female or something........and someone told me you need the 2 trees in order to get the berries......sounds like shit to me but its worth researching i guess
Omg your my idol! I am an aspiring gardener, i find your videos very helpful. I try to grow fruit trees from seeds, and I'd love it if you did some videos on raising seeds of plants you can eat like frut trees, i especially love to grow them!
I've got one apple tree we planted last year and it's got tons of apple clusters. I understand you thin the clusters to two or three so you don't overcrowd. Going to be fun! Great video! Thanks.
I would LOVE to plant mini-orchard! I'll be moving into new home this summer and I'm already planning what fruit trees I'll be getting...Thanks for another great video! They're so inspiring! :)
That is great, this year I planted two plum trees, 1 pear, 1 apricot and I am still in the process of planting my cherry tree, and I will be getting a cross pollinator for that cherry tree and putting it in my tenants yard next door. (I live in a duplex)
Can i put apple seeds in my home which is located in Los Angeles landscape?

oh, & just so you know, none of the fruit goes to waste, as we have chickens that eat the worm infested apples. we don't believe in wasting anything.

You're supposed to wash apples before you eat them.

Shouldn't pull on a broken branch, I hope you cut the affected area of the twig with the secateurs.

Twenty-five years it took to grow that apple tree.I planted it in the spring of 1965.
Feeding it,spraying it,mulching the soil, watering it through the droughts, giving it an annual dressing of potash and hydrogen every January.
Not one sodding apple

You might consider grafting it.

Were these trees purchased? If so try to grow a tree from a seed, and do a video on it. I'm trying that now.

Are drawf fruit trees available at most nurseries? What time of year is best for planting fruit trees? Love your videos, so glad I found them!
