I rescued a baby pitbull from reno shelter last summer and this summer she developed a terrible rash that would suddenly start bleeding and she was suffering so terribly. Obviously you need to see a vet but a short course of Prednisone turned it around immediately and bathing her with Chlorhexidine Dermatological shampoo each week and for 2 weeks I gave her antibiotics because it was so nasty and Atopica which is expensive but it worked and now she is perfectly normal and happy. Good luck.

my pittie pup had skin allergies as well and an old vet. told us to bathe him with selsun blue...and it worked. They wanted to put mine on prednisone too and i said hell no...the last thing my wild little pup needs is steroids...lol. Glad to hear your pup is doing well...and kudos on your adoption!!
