how long did it take for your hair to actually lock? I've had my sisterlocks for 9 weeks now! Im so excited :)

@33Muslimah My locs in the front still have not fully locked. I still have curly q's and Im about 4.5 years in. Some of my locs it only took 4-6 months. I think it was about a good year before the majority loced. Enjoy the ups and downs of your locs you will learn alot about your hair. What you can do and what you cant do. Patience is the name of this game.

@CheriA410 First I would like to say thank you. I started out with sisterlocks, I took those out after months and replaced them with braids. I maintain my hair with a nappylock tool once a month. In July I will have had them for 4 yrs.

@manolapix to tell you the truth I don't really know. I only saw the sisterlock technician two times. When they were installed and the first retightening. After that I replaced them with braids.

I want lock loops. I have used piper cleaners before, but these look safer and more effective. How often do you color your hair? I'm hoping to color my hair for the first time soon. It's been almost two years locked come March

@ibyl I tried pipe cleaners but it was very uncomfortable. I had to break down and buy the lock loops, and I love them. You should try them you have not already.

Your curls are gorgeous. I can't wait to get my locks. Did you start with tiny braids? I am trying to remember correctly. You used to have sisterlocks right? Now you have braidlocs. You look great. I am trying to make the decision of which locks to get, traditional locks, ot fat ones though, or sisterlocks or braidlocks. I am just not sure how to start.
