  • Drew. There is another S-6 organ for $80.00 o.b.o. on Craigs list in Madison, Wi. Just thought I'd let you know man.

  • @Tommytkeys Hey Tommy - I think that's a good price. I'm satisfied with the one I have. I actually took 2 organs and combined them so that all the features would work for one, and the other one was broken down for parts if I'd ever need them again. If it were here in town, I'd be sure it all works, and then re-sell it------but they're very heavy, and to get it from Madison would take away any profits made from the resale. COOL that you found one though! Thanks for letting me know : )

  • Excelllent video drew gonna hang around a bit Was painting a house this week and noticed one of these organs in the office and was very impressed on the condition of it very few sratches or marks anywere on it the customer noticed me looking at it and asked that golden question " know anyone who wants an organ?" needles to say it is in my house now so now I am researching it and I found you gonna sub you buddy

  • @forbzee63 Thank you for the compliment. I really enjoy the S-6 chord organ because I can't really play a regular organ. I'm not coordinated enough to learn-----really, I'm too lazy. As you may have seen in some of my other videos, I can simply use the chords from a song, and sing along with them. And I DO learn other songs with the full melody played too. It's just a very user-friendly organ. I like it : ) Thank you again for your comment - I really appreciate it. DREW

  • Your Hammond B3 is worth easily $25K! GOOD thing to inherit! I wish I were able to play well enough to play a B3.

I have bipolar disorder. At the time this video was made, Lithium and Pamelar combination is what caused the horrible tremors. I'm on different medications now, and no longer have the tremor-----which is pretty incredible. I shook like that for SO many years. I could hardly write anymore! You could hear it in my voice even.

  • Sweet organ there....I have a 1956 Hammond B3 with 2 Leslie 122a's..Inherited the items from my parents...(God rest their souls) and also a 1964 Steinway Model D Concert grand...

So, what combo of meds do you take that causes you to shake like that? Horrible side effects. The doctor has me on Norco and Soma for my back..The Soma takes care of the pain while the Soma relaxes the back muscles...

  • That's awesome, I found an M3 in February for 10 bucks. Did you modify it so you can run it through the Leslie? Because M3s don't have that kind of output, right?

  • @DelRockford Whoooo hooo! $10 is a great price! : ) My M-3 did not have a Leslie output connector either. I didn't convert it because I really can't play it. The chord organ was built for simple minds, like mine, lol. I can play the chord organ, but not the M-3, so I got rid of it recently. I had planned to take lessons to play it, but that's one of those things in life that I figured I'd never get to.

  • Very cool walkthrough. Thanks for posting! I was disappointed you didn't speak with a Scottish brogue :) Nice score on the $15 M3/760. I teach in a music store and it runs the gambit of people coming in with stuff they've paid either nothing or 10x what it is worth, ha!

  • amazing never knew these even existed! nice to see the old organs being played and repaired well done mate! I started 38 years ago on a childs chord organ and now pro player!

  • Hi Drew ! very nice video ! I enjoyed watching it :-)

  • @skylarker7041 -----Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's been SO cool to be able to share little stuff like this with friends and family. I'm 41, and when I was in high school, there wasn't an internet at all, LOL. So for ME, this is WAY cool : )

  • Excellent organ sir... thumbs up! I'm going to pick one up today for $100.. S6 here I come!!! ;)

  • This kind of instrument was very popular on the 60's in Mexico and was played by a very popular ecuadorian musician named

Eduardo Zurita you can find in Youtube, click the video with a giant mexican flag the music is tropical latin called Cumbia de los toquesitos.

  • I was told that this organ is considered an antique now days and that its price could go up to a thounsand dollas if auctioned.

  • I found the first S-6 at a home auction. I paid $160 for it. I found a 2nd one at an auction house, and paid only $1 for it! LOL. Apparently, at auctions around here, no one wants them. I found a Hammond M-3 AND the Leslie 760 TOGETHER for only $15! WHAT A DEAL!

Thanks about Eduardo Zurita - I will check him out!

  • @drewb52 WOW, AN M3 AND LESLIE FOR 15! HAHA! What a deal! I got an A100 a while back for 100 bucks, kicked ass! It was pretty roughed up though!

  • Very cool sounds. How did you get the line out of the organ to have good loud volume without distortion?

  • They don't give me much room to write you back, so I'm give you the general idea. I used the wires that went to the original speakers and cut down their signal with a ceramic resistor. I still have control of the volume with the volume bar that way. Then the amp in the Leslie reamps the small signal into a HUGE, deep sound. I had to try several resisters until I got the right size, but it was pretty simple, and I never had any distortion problems. The Leslie cable is shielded I think also.

  • Eat a banana, I hear potassium keeps you from shaking.

  • LOL - Thank you for the advice, I wish it were that easy. I shake as a result of several medications I take for some health issues. No single medication causes the problem, it's the combination of them. You should see me shave! LOL. Thanks though!

  • Oh well, have fun with your s6.

  • @mortson978 You're a dick.

  • @ZmajSnoshaj really, i wasn't trying to be. How did i offend you, i think there is some kind of misunderstanding.

  • @ZmajSnoshaj seriously, i wasn't trying to be a dick...

  • dude u have crazy jitters! no coffee lol

  • On a bad day, I shake SO bad, you can't even see me - I'm just a blur! LOL

  • Lovely..now u got me goin! must startup my own now..have left it alone too long now. i bought mine from the original owner who bought it 1962. mine is also equipped with an AO44 reverb amp and spring reverb..A real cool instrument this one..got some secrets about it i wont tell, since then it would be cannibalized for parts :( better to save them as they should be! Damn! now i must hook it up to my big sharma 7000 leslie , and disturb the peace! Peace! ;-)

  • Hi Drew,

Thanks for this video, and thanks for introducing this very rare but beautiful piece of Hammond.
