  • und ne kippe an im STUDIO !!! AAAAH

  • @joei1382 i guess youre not smoking... - pls keep it friendly around here.

  • Well, nice and highly instructive job, but what about cutting directly from a true magnetic tape instead from a highly compressed waveform coming from a computer?.

Vinyl cutting must be a complete process if we want to keep all things into the analog field, from studio sound takes (in multitrack machine), mixing to 2 track tape, editing such a tape using leaders for track separation, to cutting lathe directly from tape machine as used to do in "golden years" of vinyl music production.

  • @Germannio we can do cuts form half & quarter inch tape, fixed pitch. all analogue. very vew people want this hoever

  • Excellent. How much for a 7inch two sides, and I send you the MP3 or MP4 please?

It would be a 'Backup copy' of course.

Which I could play on my Jukebox.

    Best wishes

    Rhun

  • @Penrhun2 :please check our website for pricing - thanks!

  • smoking in a lab like that fucking sucks , destroys the audio quality

  • @blueyesalexya : some people don't seem to know that music actually sounds better when you're smoking...

  • WIe heisst der Song am ende????

  • @Duallist1985 sly and robby: "superthruster"

  • Amazing to make the vinyl in technology!

  • Smoking near a vinyl lathe is a loud and proud proclamation of insufficient competence to operate it.

  • @toresbe : You are absolutely right !

... but better than smoking around kids.

  • @vinylrecording Right, but it's useless to show yourself with the white clothe as you are in a "white room", and afterward just smoking and really show it with "non chalance" as the one that "can". That's something wrong and unprofessional. Sorry.

  • @iw2mln : You are absolutely right !

...but we are wearing the lab coats to keep our clothes smokefree and clean.

  • @vinylrecording It's better that you show taht you keep also the devices smokefree and clean. Something today it's needed, it's the communication of more professionalism, not ontly with clothes but also with general beahviour.

Good continuation with the "smoked laquers" ...

  • @iw2mln : You are absolutely right, BUT to hell with attitude and displayed professionalism. it's the dedication and work that counts. if i would be a "professional", i would be doing online marketing. we are freaks with our own minds, that's why we are doing this.

  • @vinylrecording you told"it's the dedication and work that counts" yes ... and in the "dedication and work" there is also the respect for the devices you are managing. That's fundamental part of professionalism too. That's it.

  • @toresbe : "insufficient competence to operate it" .... well then the question remains: why are we successfully doing it?

  • Not exactly a clean room for cutting anything on your lathe wtih a lit cigarette in one hand! Yikes.

  • If you really would like to lose the rest of your hair, try producing a direct-to-disk project!

  • @Marantzguy : we did a direkt to disk project, but to tell the truth: the musicians fucked up...

  • Number 1. These Jesus candle and picture on the cutting lathe is cool.

Number 2. I didn't understand one word they said.

Number 3. Proudly smoking & drinking beer around such delicate equipment is not good. The tar & nicotine from the cigarette smoke accumulates on everything including the small moving parts of the cutting head and inside the record grooves.

Number 4. They need to study some Michael Jackson videos before dancing for the camera.

  • You never ´cut´ a vinyl record, its always pressed. Next you don´t press or cut vinyl records on that Neumann machine.. its used for the cutting of acetates ( which you never press) And 7 inch singles are not exclusive for jukeboxes.. Still the mainstream format for Jamaican related productions. And also its not holy water or something magic , just distilled water , so there´s no electromagnetic static or grease on the plate.

  • @skylarker7041

your right on the vinyl, but we cut masters and pvc dubs on the vms, most of customers refer to the disks as vinyl. the pvc dubs ar a compond containing vinyl, so we call it vinyl...

BUT, your wrong on the holy water, and I wont tell what we are using for removing static, improving chip suction and feeling better ingeneral...:)

    mex

  • Heiliges Wasser?

  • @HissVideo : sorry but i am not getting it...

  • Wish I could understand what they're saying, because this video looks interesting.

  • @kdegru the disc in the vid is a pvc plate for direct playback - no master.

  • I am very confused. Are you embossing a vinyl composition disc or are you cutting a laquer (nitro-cellulose) based disc? Is the disc you cut for direct playback or as the master disc for the duplication process that will ultimately create a vinyl pressing?

  • Why all the fuss about the cigs? The smoke is the secret ingredient that makes the LP sound better than the CD. ;-) You think there wasn't smoke in the room when they were cutting the lacquer for Elvis ... or the Beatles? I bet there was. Lots of it.

You guys look like you are having a lot of fun doing what you do - rock on!

  • @txtransam

    men youre so right!

  • oh mann, du rauchst in einem studio... nuff said :(

  • @loudandbanging : natürlich und...?

wir haben geraete hier die stehen schon seit über 30 jahren in raucherstudios und funktionieren tadellos.

  • would really help if this had english subtitles :/

  • rad video... I am so glad to see vinyl so alive... I'd love to hear my stuff recorded to vinyl, maybe someday

  • Very interesting und Vielen Dank für die Infos aus Berlin.

  • haha description is funny. was that ment to be seen lol?

  • this is great ! If only we could understand what he is on about?

    Subtitles please!!!

  • I have a few plates from them..

Nice work.. Altough i'm not keen on that smoking thing as i've seen in this clip.

Shouldn't it be clean, dustfree etc. while cutting a plate? ;)

    EZ,

    Joe.

  • well, its the result that counts. if we would have our studio in some city, we would have more dust and dirt just by entering the room...

    SMOKERS FOREVER !

    all the best

    mex

  • i wish it was english or had english subtitles at least

  • Love the video, keep 'em spinnin',

  • yes vinyl lives. great video.

  • Cool Dudes, respect!

    Vinyl forever!!! ))

  • What do you use the Urei 1620 for you have there? Pre-amp for the turntable to check back playback or it's transformer balanced output?

  • the urei la3a and 1620 are used for mastering before the signal goes to the lathe

  • PERFEKT!

    Long live vinyl!!!!!!!!!!

  • Keep smoking, keep the video in b/w and DON'T add subtitles. The video is perfect the way it is: It explains the technical stuff, but it also gives a hint of rime and reason behind the passion. It has great cultural value. Don't change anything.

  • I thought I was the only one who still smoked while cutting disks! I would be able to do it without a fag in me mouth!

  • Well nice video. I m also a customer of you!

English subs would be good though ;-)

I hope you get well on vinyl business, keep up!

  • thanks - summurs always a bit quiet - which is good too!

    cheers mex

  • Never Smoke and Drink while cutting Vinyl...I know the results..dust and wasted 14" acetate..

  • we know, but then F*** it

  • Yo that's a cool setup you have there. I'd stop smoking in that room if I were you tho. ;)

  • well smoke till we drop ! thats why we spent big bucks on air conditioning...

  • lol

  • If i was you i would NOT smoke while cutting, otherwise how can you be assured that the lacquer is free of any cigarrete ash particles?

  • PD: Beautiful movie. Long live the mastering engineer!

  • super video leute!
