This is my favorite speech too! Love him or hate him, Obama has a gift for bringing people together of all races together. Maybe is because of his unique background! So when he trys to bring that same sense of togetherness on both sides in Congress, they block every agenda he proposes. & Democrats who are complaining that he hasn't done enough wonders why? You're not gonna get 99% of what you want with just 2 1/2 years of Obama being president! Obama has to fix 8 years of Bushes mistakes anyway
Cost of living up 3.4% every year. The cost of production/manufacturing up 8.9% the already scorhing high cost of manufacturing. Inflation at a all time high 4.0% since the 1998 at 1.2% 1998. The deficit is at a record-breaking $1.5 trillion. Borrowed Trilions of dollars from Chna. Laughed at like a begar from Spain Do we need to learn our lesson that Obama can't teach. Politics cost us everything. Who pays them? Not me! Oh yah where is the 4.7 billion from Social Security? China?NO!
@redviper2GAMER Just a heads up so you don't sound stupid at thanksgiving, the 1.5 Trillion defecit is owed to the presidency of George W. Bush, through his crusade on Iraq through the War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pretty sure it took G W 8 years and no luck w/ Osama. Obama comes in and what do you know, trigger pulled, case closed.
i think the president is doing good and no matter what you think the economy, the stock market, our debt is all improving, but i believe he could do more for america. also in your face hes got 6 more years of being the president whiether you like it or not. so just be happy republicans he is improving the equality of life in america and instead of being bitter republicans why dont you just put your politics aside and lets get america moving forward!!!

No matter how great this speech is, the greatest thing about it is that it shows Obama is much more than what many accuse him of, being just words.
He stuck his throat out for Wright in this speech, and the media said he didn't distance himself enough, while calling it historic.
Wright misrepresented the speech and Obama. He said he was just a politician now, that he threw him under the bus in this speech. Misrepresent he did.
This is why Obama was forced to distanced himself.
The worst of America which include the racists, paranoid, Bush supporters will be out in numbers to vote for McCain and 'LOL PALIN LOL'. The Bush/McCain Economy has failed.

Good on him for having a go, I admire him, particularly considering the attrocities that still occur down south in america. Hope he gets over the line.
im only a 13 yr old grl. b4 obama i thought politics were so boring but something about his prescence, his passion, and the way he delivers his speeches draws me 2 listen 2 his insightful words. i hope 4 all the people who r struggling tht obama gets it. we do not need another republican to make the rich richer at the expense of the poor. if u ook at my city, u'll see the horrible downfall of my neighborhood and many others alike. i watched drug deals go on in front of my house. yes we can!!!!!!
40% of Americans do not pay a Federal Income Tax, That certainly does not include the rich or middle upper class of this nation. Stop complaining about the rich getting richer. For the most part, they have earned it, and they are paying their taxes on what they have earned, unlike the poor class of this country.
Senator John McCain said he was "very honored by Pastor John Hagee's endorsement." However, Hagee is even more radical than Rev. Wright calling the Catholic church 'The Great Whore,' an 'apostate church,' the 'anti-Christ,' and a 'false cult system.' "Senator Obama has repudiated the endorsement of Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan, . McCain should follow suit and retract his embrace of Hagee." As usual, McCain gets a free pass. McCain is a fake. He will say anything to pander to the GOP.
Why is Obama referred to as 'Black'? For the record his mother is 'White'. So why not call him 'White'? Are Blacks a superior race or something? To me Black or White is indifferent and wish they stop referring to him as the first 'Black' US President to be. For God's sake he is not Black.
In America, when you are less than an ounce of African descent, you are considered Black and treated accordingly (and differently). That's just how it is. Trust me....I know. I'm excited about his potential to be our next president. If he wins, he will be the first Black president in history, and it's definitely important to me, being an African American myself. It simply means progress & wonderful change. Don't take it offensively, okay? It,in no way means that any race is superior to another.
I'm reading "With Malice Toward None," one of the best biographies of Lincoln. In it, Lincoln says of Stephen Douglas, his political rival, that he "never lets the logic of principle displace the logic of success."
We are supposed to be a Republic Barack our founding Fathers warned us to be against a democracy, where 51% of the people can take away 49% of the peoples rights...
i am indin, why is it you only talk about the blacks? i guess you think we can not give you the votes you need. i think maybe you are playing game the white man does, and the whites will go for it big time.
Obama dares call our Constitution words on parchment respect this country Obama or just go home you are a disgrace and you have too many hidden agendas rather than running your mouth about the past and slavery talk more about now and the economy I also dispise some historic events however about what happened to Native Americans but I dont use it as a beneficial race card to get what I want so Obama I have 2 words to finish with "SHUT UP"
For the first time in U.S history , the question of race and its consequences in the non perfection has made a brilliant entrance in the Election Process. I sincerely hope that Obama will win . Not because he is african american but cause never would the message be more clear that America has decided to write a brand new page of its history . To my point of view the election of Obama as President of united States would definitly be the real beginning of the 21th Century as a new era
give me education free, give me healthcare free, give me rights for free, give me resources for free... give me give me give me, because i am just a little less fortunate than my neighbor. . thank you. thank you. you can now resume worshiping the guy that tells you what you will do.
im a slave to american idiots voting for tyrants that continualy heap on legislation the constitution. if barrak would condemn and fight to remove affirmative action, or any legislation for that matter i would immolate. affirmative action is insulting to everyone but who cares if you can get a job right? who cares if you can get money from the government for nothing, they take it. my point is if you dont think about it you think its fine because its convenient for now.
This speech is the best speech on race that has been delivered, not surprisingly, by the most brilliant candidate we have had run for president in a very very long time. It is so timely and timeless.
Question for those who say that he doesn't have the 'experience' to be President: What has 'experience' on Capital Hill gotten us for the last eight years? Step back and do your own research instead of regurgitating what CNN or Fox feeds you.
WHY FISA! Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution which says: "NO Bill of Attainder or EX POST FACTO LAW SHALL BE PASSED." WTF MR. OBAMA! SKREW LOOKING MODERATE PROTECT MY DAMN CONSTITUTION!
YES WE CAN!!! I saw this speech live; I read it twice, I emailed the text to everyone I know. He is EXACTLY what this country needs to recover from the hell GWB has put the world through.
It's difficult to see this speech while knowing that there always will be people who just doesnt see it and just ( stands ) for there race. Its a world problem that needs full attention, otherwise it will never be solved. Obama!!
up until today i had never really given this man a proper listen and think, but after this i am adament this man is americas only hope,i have not seen anyone with as much truth, humility and passion as this man,. barack obama.i am english, and am envious that i cannot stake a vote for this great person who every nation needs.he is a true one in a billion peoples person.obama for world president!!!
I'm French, and I wish too I could vote for Obama. This speech just gives you hope for the future. I agree with you, this man has great qualities and you feel you can trust him without being disappointed later. After eight years with Bush, Obama is the man America needs. The whole world is looking at the US, and we hope these eight years will become a bad souvenir very soon. Obama has the right vision of America, and the right answers for the American issues.
good looking, well spoken, but there is the only 1 man that is a true Constitutionalist &founding father material in my life time you can only guess who.Welcome new president not elected by we the people but corporate news media nothing personal Obama is cute but where was he in Congress 20years ago saying NO to all unconstitutional &unlawful laws.If you are understanding the Constitution, this man should not be questioned about his religion believes but what he can do for this country worries me!
I'm from England and believe that this man could be one of the best things that ever happened to USA.
He seems to be soully correct. I first thought that Hillary was just as respectable; then i witnessed a video of her stating that "America would OBLITERATE (obliterate being her exact word) Iran if they wanted to". This kind of made me think that she might just have that tyrannical streak in her like so many of the previous Presidents.
wildreams ,you are right the whole world is watching to see the changes in america i live here and i want to see that change too. It is just not only electing a black president but the open channel to elect an asian ,indina hispanicpresident weather it be a man or woman. President kenndey said in 1968 that in 40 years americans will elect a black president (he said negro) this is the 40th year.
Senator Obama, in my view, has a special personality that only comes along once or twice in a lifetime. Luckily for this great country, those special leaders were revealed during times when we needed sound leadership the most. One again, we need a leader who has the ability to unite the nation through his words and inspire us all. As a soldier currently serving this great country, I am excited about his candidacy and would be proud to one day call him my Commander in Chief.
You are like me and all others Americans who has love for this wonderful Country! some one with hopes and vision! Thank you for putting it all out there for all of us to start dealing with our fears and dark sides of life....like your msg says we are first Americans! human! all the same deep down who care about our lives and values! Go OBAMA 08!
Judge a man by his values, not by his color! See his honest intentions for America! Wake Americans wake!! If this person doesn't become the President, this country will go to dogs!! Go Obama 08!!
Barack Obama is too inexperienced to be president? Mid 80's, Chicago, Barack was Director of the Developing Communities Project Harvard Law in 1988, elected president of the Harvard Law Review, first black to do so.
1991, Chicago, Director of voter registration drive.
Civil Rights lawyer from 1993 to 1996.
1996- 2004, Illinois' Senate.
Professor of constitutional law from 1993- 2004 in Univ. of Chicago Law School. January 2004- 2007, US Senate
but isn't that what we all need though? truly, cynicism is running rampant and we americans feel divided--from each other, from the world--someone who tells us that we can hope, that we're not wrong for hoping... isn't this what we all need, especially now?
obama!!!!!all the best .... you are the total package...first four years you ll be doing alot of clean house domestic/foreign policies, I think the toughest will be FOREIGN POLICY...your plates full!!!roll your sleeves up , you already practicing with mitchell good job!!!! i mean rolling yal sleeves up!!!!might need some work boots too and a hardhat!!! for some WORK...go obama!!!
I'm a Singaporean and even i believe this man is truely sincere in wanting to change your country.
And believe it or not, the outcome of your election has a great impact on not only Canada but more than u think, the rest of the world. I mean seriously.
thanks, i luv the uk, got nuff family over there. but yeah this is one of the greatest events in us history and not solely because obama is african american but also because he is one of the most positive and influential candidates in a very long time.

The U.S. debt is over $9 trillion. A billion seconds is approx. 32 years. A trillion seconds is roughly 32 thousand years.
At a dollar a second, you'd pay back a TRILLION dollars by 34007.
At a dollar a second and no further spending, the U.S. could be debt-free by 290007.
If the avg. American family of five owes at least $149,737,50 in assets excluding liabilities.
America is bankrupt!

For God's sake he is not Black.
jrroxy 3 years ago

THAT is why I choose Obama.

We now rest on Obama...
Let's hope he is the answer.
