  • @kregerfilms why are the prequels the darkside im 20 years old and the first starwars films i watched were the old ones and still i love the prequels as much as the old ones maybe i like the prequels even more with their new teqnicues. No hate just my oppinion i find i sad that many people dont like the prequels

  • It's so cool watching these clips and seeing so many costumes, props and set pieces that I am SURE are straight from the movies. The footage in this game was more of a time capsule for the LFM archives than anything else.

Rebel Assault II and Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. These two games made for an exciting era for Star Wars fans, seeing all new film footage. Before the dark times...before the prequels...

  • @kregerfilms You nailed it...

  • i liked this vid/mini sw movie. though it would be cool to make animated(hand drawn or cgi) movies of all the different star wars n star trek games n novels. there's a novel st about the starfleet academy game. just a cool thought.

  • The way Rookie one said Tie Fighters always made me laugh. Lol I must have been easily amused as a kid XD and is it just me or does the sound seem a bit out? Maybe it's because its the PS version I only played it on PC

  • @braceyfaceanimegurl Another thing I didnt get is why Admiral Ackbar said 'May the Force be with You' when Luke wasnt a Jedi Master then. Though I guess it could be just before ROTJ. Another thing I wondered was how did they manage to get a flight recording at 16.32 from the players perspective and not Rookie One's XP

  • @braceyfaceanimegurl it's not just you. He says "TIE fighters" in pretty much the nerdiest voice of all time. I think Jim Parsons based his entire Big Bang Theory character on that one line. :p

  • @Beckmen Ya know that makes sense now I think about it. Though Parsons must be true SW fan as that must mean he's at least played this game(which is awesome because Sheldon is my fave character XD). I always wondered whether the BBT guys were actually geeks in real life or just normal people playing geeks.

  • What's the name of the John Williams theme you used at the very end during the death clips?

  • @TheAeroAvatar "Across The Stars (Love Theme from Star Wars: Episode II)"

  • The ultimate in cheese!

  • Yarrr, it be Admiral Ackbar.

  • awesome

  • tssss. mi first playstation game... wow flashback

  • Damn I really love that PSX opening.

  • These cutscenes are way better than than SW eps 1-2

  • Why doesn't Ru Murleen get a medal

  • The cutscene always ends when my favourite part of Battle for Endor 1 is about to start

  • There are a lot of "AAAAAHH's!!!!!" in this film.

  • "Were Dead" at 10:04, Lol

  • Do you have the cutscenes for the first rebel assault?

  • Man I played this game 15 years ago when I was in grade. 4. I remember how ecstatic I was when I beat the level where you fly the millennium falcon through the mines. I remember I worked on that for quite a while, And I remember my Dad coming home one night and telling me how even one of his buddies from work gave up on the game because he couldn't get passed that part. I remember how proud I was to be better than an adult. Wow nostalgia, thanks for the post.

  • @zigzag789789 Are... are you me...? The exact same thing happened to me. Seriously. wat

  • Horrible acting skills of extras are part of what made Star Wars what it is.

  • "It's bigger than anything Ive ever seen before! Arm your laser turrets!"

So I guess he's never been to a planet or a star. As for the second part, why is it that people use weapons way to small to even make a dent in their target? Guess everyone's gotta try to be the next Luke Skywalker.

  • that asteriod field level with the y-wing was a BITCH

  • I'm impressed by the production value. I can't believe they got Sean Connery to play Admiral Ackbar. 12:33

  • "Buckethead". What an awesome insult.

  • I remember playing this at my friends house as a kid. It was rather difficult, but incredibly fun.

  • I remember playing this on PC many years ago. Probably the last time I have used a joystick.

  • Better graphics than SWTOR !

  • I feel like 20:24 could never happen. How would Y Wings defeat a squadron of TIE Interceptors? Y Wings were bombers not fighters. TIE Interceptors were the fastest fighter ships in the Imperial Army. Somethings not right here.

  • @dogubomb Ah, but the Y-wing is well armed and can take a LOT of abuse. Where as the Tie-In is unshielded. Fast yes and more maneuverable but still not much more of a threat than the old skool TIE fighter. TIE-Ins are far from the fastest fighter craft in the TIE Corps. You still have the TIE defender, TIE Advanced, Gunboats, The TIE Phantom in this game and probably fastest of all the Missile boat especially if equipped with the S.L.A.M. system. Whats not right here was the acting!

    :P

  • Can you do a video of the main menu? Because I don't know what the song is called from the main menu. I like it.

  • I freakin' loved this game as a kid! :D

I had it for PC though :P

  • This takes me way back to my childhood. :') I could never get past the level where you fly the millenium falcon through the mines or whatever. And I've lost the disc, so I guess I never will. :'(

  • @guns4hire2000 Truth be told that level BEAT THE CRAP out of me. You could get the disc on eBay for sure or maybe even download the game. I know a few cheats for the game.

  • Better than all three prequels combined. ;)

  • @swaaye You are SO RIGHT!

  • Why does Vader like showing so many Imperials his head while he gets helmeted? It reminds me of the west wing when people would stand around while the president put on socks. Important people doing mundane things like you and I. Does he, like the rest of us, put his gloved robot hands on one at a time, or are they built in? Does Vader fasten then zip, or zip and then fasten? Or not at all? Ouch.

  • @sumbuddyx He's more machine now than man. Twisted, and dickless.

  • I wish they would bring this game out again on PS3 or PS2 that would be awesome I love this game me and my best would play it for hours on end if it was raining outside when we were younger

  • Well kid i didin't think you had in you

    Thank you sir lol

  • Wait, why was the Falcon just sitting there?

  • @eji313 That is the "Corellia Star", a ship used by either a mercenary or a rebel agent. It is merely the same model ship, but not the Falcon.

  • The stories and cut scenes were so much more interesting and better filmed than the prequels it is depressing.

  • Damn major nostalgia! I used to always play it when I was younger :)

  • Man, I remember this game. Had it for the PC. I loved it. Recently just took it out to check out. A bit difficult getting it to run on windows nowadays but finally got it going with dosbox.

Another game with live action cutscenes was Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2. Those were good times.

  • I only favorited this to hear the ps1 opening..

  • @Cj816 I specifically left the PSX opening in since it's kind of rare to see/hear these days. Really takes me back.

  • @Beckmen i get called a dumbass alot because i love both star wars and star trek

  • @Beckmen I had this game on IBM CD-ROM way back in the day.

  • this game was a bitch and a half back on the 98. the joy stick was really sensitive. kinda why i have ulcers today

  • actually, this might have been brought up already, but wasn't Star Tours (or the two Ewok movies) the first live action filming of anything Star Wars since Jedi??? or are we not counting that

  • @WannaBeatle I completely forgot about Star Tours, having never seen it or really read much about it. The Ewoks movies kind of count, but count actually have the Star Wars brand name officially, if I recall correctly. I gotta buy those on DVD, I never got around to it...

  • @WannaBeatle, (Smack upside head) NEVER talk about that. IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!! lol

  • @Swatman170 that's better and more effective than a mind trick, thank you. at least the Christmas special (and who told Mark Hamill to wear Michael Jackson's eyeliner and go overboard Liberace style flamboyant in that???) was more entertaining than them so-called two Ewok movies.

  • I remember seeing some of the cutscenes when I used to go to Best Buy and just wished I had a newer computer and/or game system at the time (I only had a very old Apple IIc at the time) But, I just read that was actually Dave Prowse in the Vader outfit...certainly moves like him. I wish they would've had him back in the costume for episode III instead of the girly looking kid that had no muscle definition

  • i played Tie Figher and X-Wing when i was growing up but i missed this one :( i just know the nerdgasm i woulda had if ida played this when it was released

  • I remember being scared out of mind from this game. I mean 3:33. I find those death scenes disturbing as a kid.

  • Isnt that Lt Gruber!?

  • This is better than the prequels. If fact, this is what I wanted the prequels to be.

  • This game was made well before the prequel movies came out and I think it's funny that most of the cutscenes in the game contain a few actors with everything else composed of computer graphics because by Episode II that was the motif for Star Wars.

It's excusable for a video game made 15yrs ago but George Lucas just got lazy

  • I played this game well over a decade ago, more like 15 years. It was one of the first video games I ever played and beat. I played it on a (now) dinosaur Macintosh computer, and it was great. Thanks for posting the vid.

  • I remember this game on the PC, it was so much fun!

  • A womp rat's nest of TIE Fighters...how is it that everyone in the entire galaxy is aware of a rodent found only on a backwater desert world on the edge of the galaxy that holds no value at all?

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 While they are native to Tatooine, they probably exist elsewhere. On Earth, rats often infest cargo vessels and spread anywhere commerce is. In fact, the common house centipede, or scutigera coleoptrata is native to the Mediterranean region where spread worldwide on cargo ships and are now found all over the place. It's probable several pests in the SW universe had a similar propensity for dissemination.

  • vary gay

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 Not sure if anyone mentioned this but in the Rebel Assault AU Rookie One (The character with that line, and your player character.) is from Tatooine.

  • its for PC too i know

  • where is the playtrough with the millenium falcon

i really loved this level back in the days

  • This game was really easy on the psx becouse you can auto lock onto your enemy's

On the PC version when you go to your target and you release the aim button, the crosshairs when automatticly back to the center on the screen

    That was so fucked up

The psx version could be played out on 2 hours or so...

I didnt get furhter then chapter 2 on the PC

  • i like how they use real people for the cutscenes and part animation. really cool looking and awsome music.

  • Well, the acting is still better than in the prequels...

  • i've had this game since it came out when i was a lil kid... i still have it but i havent played it in maybe 9 or 10 years... thinking about playing it right now tho lol.

  • This looks really bad... >.<

  • DARTH VADER HEAD THIS IS FUNNY NO MASK HA HA HA

  • i wonder what model YT fighter he rode. Probably same model as the Melenium Falcon

  • nice flying lol

  • i LOVED this game. Beat it SO many times.

    my favorite is 12:25.

Hurry, rebel patrol! They're boarding us! GAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • how do you post videos this long on youtube

  • I notice that when they fly the TIEs they wear standard rebel helmets... but that wouldn't be possible in a TIE since there's no atmospheric systems, you're literally exposed to the vacuum of space.

  • I love how the cut scenes look like something from the 70s, just like classic Star Wars should look. The gameplay looks kind of crappy though.

  • :O!!! i had forgotten about the sony logo from the playstation!! brings back memories!!! and i have my ps one in my closet...why i never play with it...puzzles me.

  • I wish they'd come out with another one of these games. Anyone know if a third is in the making?

  • Hold it!!! You two!!! What are you doing here? This is a restricted area!!!

Most well acted line in Star Wars I have ever heard

  • Ah, yes....the one computer game I was good at...I LOVED it 'cause we had a joystick and it was way better than using a mouse or junk like that- especially with flying. I sucked at the first-person shooting. But flying? heck, it's what gave me daydreams of flying an X-wing. Unfortunately I kept getting stuck at the TIE training. Dad's darned Windows 98' kept doing the 'this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down' garbage. :P

  • Y-wings vs. Interceptors? I don't like those odds....

  • Is "Rascal One" Porkin's dad? ha!

  • how could the y wings win against the tie interceptors 3 vs 3 ? thats frikkin impossible

  • i loved this game :D

  • I MISS THE PS1 INTRO!!!!

  • the xwing pilots are wearing ywing flight helmets?

  • "Rebel Assualt II contained the first footage shot in the Star Wars universe since ROTJ."

Really? I thought Dark Forces II was older?

  • @Curtis006 Rebel Assault II was 1995, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II was 1997.

  • @Beckmen pretty good transition from fmv to actual game play and good graphics for a playstation 1 game

  • @Beckmen Rebel Assault I didnt use live action?

  • @Curtis006 It's "Rebel Asesauuaatl"

  • When I played this as a kid, I was thinking it was a movie, lol!

  • Man...why can't all videogames have live action cutscenes!?!?!?!?!?

  • @Dudemanvideowatcher

tse explained perfectly during FMV hell

  • that was my third star wars game, its a great game

  • Im glad that bitchs ship got blown up lmfao

  • RookieOne is such and idiot lol

  • Say does anyone happens to know when this game takes place in the saga?

According to resources, Rebel Assault 2 takes place just after the Battle of Hoth in the Empire Strikes Back. However, as there is no mention (or even a reference) to the Battle of Hoth, I personally think this takes place BEFORE the Empire Strikes Back.

    What do you think?

  • @brongers457 well since its the hidden empire I guess its before empire strikes back cause they didnt know much about the imperials

  • scenes with real people i loooove it=)

  • Bermuda Triangle

Anyways, I LOVE THIS GAME! I wish I could download it, and I always love watching the cutscenes. Thanks for taking the time to upload all these.

  • 1:40 For being a decade old, the graphics for the cut scenes don't look that bad.

8:42 On that one for some reason the only things you can shoot besides the troopers are the lights.

I remember always shooting the lights when I was younger.

9:26 Those storm troopers really have bad aim!!

13:11 Didnt she die in the beginning??

Or do they just use the same actors??

15:41 I never did get passed this part!! It was soo hard for me to pass it. But I got a cheat code and got ALL the levels!!

  • the game have a realy bad graphic

  • oh man, those punks blew up a super star destroyer...

  • This game looks good.

Too bad my PS1's laser burned out :(

  • I loved playing this game growing up

  • 42:02!!!! That must have taken ages to upload !! Awesome work

  • uhm... so stealing a video game = you should die from AIDS? at least you have some perspective in life lmao

  • rofl, so true. and that person seems to die.

  • this game paved way to another great game and series however that series is dying today COmmand and Conqure

  • Wow, I remember playing this on the PC way back in the day. To think how far videogames have come.. Though Star Wars games (except KOTR) really havent received the treatment they deserve. Imagine a Star Wars game with the quality of Mass Effect 2 (and dont bring up the new MMO that BioWare is working on). Sigh...

  • @k4nc3r i want to see a star wars first person shooter for ps3/360 with modern warfare 2 graphics and a wide variety of weapons

  • Oh man... that's tought ! I hope that you are only joking.

If you are not, well, that's not exactly karma, that's cause and effect. Cause: you are a junkie and a heroin addict. Effect: you can get AIDS easily.

    However, that's sad.

  • The cut scenes are still awesome.

probably the reason why I kept playing this game in the first place.

  • memories of classic games!!

  • Because the rebels need good pilots and they don't care about what you look like. Or what species you are either.

  • haha i played this game years ago! The voices for the ackbar character adn the emporor are hilarious! Vader was very well done.

  • the on the ground shooting in this game is insanely awesome.

  • Dunno why the hell everyone is complaining. They took the time to actually film cutscenes for this game, and I think this is what makes it really awesome.

  • A fucking amazing game, even today this is good. A classic game

  • ''ok kid, stay sharp'' hahah! he already died!

  • never was able to beat this game. i would love a second chance.

  • I like Scott Lawrence's characteristic voice as Darth Vader. He's much better, than Matt Sloan.

  • @RobinZolyom Chad Vader.....

  • i agree, when i played this game it was like "wow why cant the movie have looked this good?" and now it's like watching a joke lol. how times have changed. it was good for the time it was made tho

  • @94ludecrazy I agree!!!! =)

    played it on my mac...

  • Haha. I still love the explosions in this game.

  • Thanks uploader, that was awesome to see it all together like that. Appreciated.x

  • The guy on the monitror is Commander Ross Geller of the Rebel Command Ship Central Perk. Ready to get wacked.

  • Still the best opening theme in the histoy of film.

  • Wow...the 90s had a lot of bass....a LOT of bass....my heads still shaking.

  • The graphics and vid were the nuts at the time...and have a few good memories of it ..but was disappointed that I completed it the same day I bought it!

  • Great game but the PC version is better than the PSX one.

  • The guy who did Darth Vader's voice in this game is almost indistinguishable from James Earl Jones's voice... Excellent imitation!

  • This game is one of the reasens I still own a Playstation 1 very great and underestimatet game...much better than the rewiew says a must own kultclassic :)

  • lol @ 12:30

  • @tollboothjason AAAHHHHHHH!!1111

  • They also took away some of the game play from the PC I see, there's no Falcon underground caves/ mines section of game play.

  • Is the PS version just really easy or are you on baby?

  • Totally playing on baby mode. I suck at video games something fierce.

  • 8:10 those are actually the guys from daft punk!

  • how did you upload a video 42:00 minutes

  • I uploaded it before youtube started the ten-minute limit thing, in 2006.

  • i never knew about that before

  • 10 minute thing is stupid

  • i remember playing this on pc on my 386... lawl. i mean, i'm pretty sure it was a 386 because it sucked ass...

  • i hated how slow my computer would process these damn cut scenes and for that matter, the entire damn game... XD

  • 18:46 did he just say "get it through ur fucken head"?

  • Something about 'Imperial Bucketheads', which I assume is slang for TIE pilots, based on their helmets.

  • o ok lol

  • @ponchoyo I think he did

  • Oh my gosh, I still own this game. It was so much fun!!!! I played over and over and over again!!! These cut scenes were amazing. Still love them.

  • Why Ru Murleen didn't get a medal....unfair

  • At 4:12 Vader lays the smackdown on the boasting Imperial officer.

  • Oh my god, I played this when I was... five? A while ago. This certainly brings back memories... plus an enlightened perspective along the lines of "my God, this is bad..." and still, memories...

That was extremely amusing to watch. Thanks for uploading!

  • Fukkin LOVE that PlayStation start up sound.

Then the Star Wars opening crawl... so. much. Win!

  • the main guy looks like a mix of chris kattan and jimmy fallon

  • OMG !!! How cheesy were the pre-cgi 'real' time actors/actresses

  • Ackbar acts himself ^^

    AWESOME HE IS REAL!!!1

  • Is it just me or does the officer talking to Vader at the beginning of the game look like George W. Bush?

  • I remember playing this game nearly every weekend when my best mate come to my place I love playing the star wars games it is very fun

  • who is voicing ackbar actually in the games

  • No "bed" scene at the end? :D

  • "bed" scene...?

  • The TIE Phantoms from this game ended up (much to my surprise) in SW: Empire at War Forces of Corruption

  • Gameplay looks better then the PC version...PC version you were just in a cockpit
