  • it's actually 108. urs is a 93. maybe 94

  • YO TENGO UNO ESTAN CHIDOSS SON LOS MEJORES

  • This stock? My 2.4 swapped neon is much quicker.. this ain't to bad tho like the sound.. watch my vids.. my old sohc neon was lil faster than this I believe too..

  • <3 the 3.1 sound

  • loaf

  • Just get another 3.1 and work on that! You cannot beat those 3.1L. I had a 2.8L in my 87 Buick century RIP :(

  • @josh1303 yes u can. 3.4

  • I had a Z24 2.4 L omg that engine was so powerfull I mean it could of taken over m taurus v6. good good engines they have!!

  • My 3rd gen 2.2 ecotec will walk on any old cavi

  • sounds yummy

  • I was going to comment saying how my 1.8 Ford Mondeo was as quick as this but then I realised this only has 140HP? Is that right? My Mondeo has done 155,000 miles and is 125HP standard, but I've remapped the ECU so it SHOULD in an ideal world be putting out 133HP.. I'm surprised this is as quick as mine now that I realise it only had 140HP standard and what with it having 200K on the clock. Isn't it pretty heavy too?

  • @Zlyzer yeah but 180tq at a close rpm range that makes the car quick (more tq then hp)

  • Damn, thats pretty good, Ive got a Sunbird GT with a 3.1 and a five speed, and I am inpressed

  • Fuck the quad4, I want a 3.1!

  • @Motorfordtoyota yeah i beat a Beretta GTZ with the Quad 4, it was a close race but i got him...

  • @MGK1992 Just cant beat the 3.1 reliability and sound! Plus a 5 speed, awsome!

  • @MGK1992 btw the 2.3HO quad4 is stronger than that 3.1 so technically its impossible that you took a beretta GTZ with a z24 if u had him there is two thing that could make you win, either he dont know how to drive or his engine was frickin tired or not in shape and not well keep, the 2.3 is 180 hp 185 ft-lb of torque or so , that 3.1 is 140 hp 185 ft-lb of torque, and also, the z24 is heavier because of that big v6, but that v6 is way stronger than the 2.3, 2.3hO was less reliable.

  • @exeat5 el 2.3 era de 140 hp y 155 lb-pie ok. no digas tonterias

  • @exeat5

    Your a fucking joke !

You state the 2.4( wait sorry 2.3 according to your dumbass) is more powerful then the 3.1L but the 3.1L is heavier yet stronger?

WTF is going on in that little hamster wheel of a brain?

Take your head out of your ass before you make any post.

    I have a 3.1L pushing 240TQ to the wheel, N / A

Sitting in my garage ready to go,

    Fuck your gen III Cav's

    Nothing but a fucking disgrace.

  • @Dii4I3Lo i will race you man i got a 2.2 cavy but i dont do a strait line bull shit im a back road racer in my cavy power isnt everything unless you got the suspension too keep up

  • @MGK1992 but if your talking about the 2.4 Quad4 that was not in any beretta gtz but in sunfire and cavalier from 95 to 02 , then, its possible that you took them

  • @MGK1992 race my gtz plz

  • @MGK1992 yeah thats why i love the z24 with a 3.1 what a tourqe monster

  • @Jaygeta1 lol 185lb/ft isn't a torque monster dumbass

  • @mustangmikeca u got alot to learn

  • @mustangmikeca that's why you are a mustang fag right lol

  • @MGK1992 some how i doubt that, i have a 3100 and it wouldnt stand a chance against a quad.there definantly had to be something wrong with it.

  • @Motorfordtoyota lol stock for stock the quad 4 will win so you know the 1988 grand am will beat the 3.1

  • @w41king Yeah, but stock for stock, the 3.1 will last about 3.5 million years longer.

  • @Motorfordtoyota ok if you put it that way you got me

  • @Motorfordtoyota u want the 3.4 swap

  • @rcjg24 3.4s arent as reliable as 3.1 MPFI.

  • @Motorfordtoyota yeah this car is now 3400 swapped out of a 2000 Grand Am GT, ill make videos of it real soon ive just been busy with this new trans am ws6 i got... haha

  • @Motorfordtoyota

The Quads are powerful, but unreliable. I'd take a 3.1 MPFI over one anyday.

  • how does the car hold up at 110 because i haven't had enough distance for me to hit that high

  • i could only get my moms old 94 z24 to about 98 - 100 in this time but hers was an auto

  • @wallen2k9 yeah the autos kill all the power cuz their only a 3spd.

  • @MGK1992 it depends i had a 90 z24 with a three speed auto and i remember hitting 119 with out problem , and i never did anything on it, too bad i blew the engine

    o well

  • @MGK1992 Mostly true but not always. I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport coupe automatic. In first I do 35, then 2nd at 70mph, and 3rd all the way to 110mph while the 5 speed in this video needed 4th to get to 110 and I dont. Thats when I speed shift it (1-2-3-D). It technically has 5 gears if you think about. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd Overdrive, Drive, and 4th. A mechanic said that mine is a 4speed auto even though it only says 1, 2, 3, D. For the most part, you are right though.

  • @MGK1992 my cavy is auto but five speed unless your talking about the old z24 cavaliers

  • @MGK1992 HAHAHA what a pos!

  • se forzan pero se icieron para correr 110mph o 200 km/h

  • @MGK1992 4 spd, 3+overdrive

  • @nathenandrew No real overdrive. It's called "lockup". It has a solenoid that locks up the torque converter in thirrd gear and doesn't allow it to slip like normal... as kind of a faux overdrive. This "lockup" solenoid wears out and sticks in lockup mode, and then it will not downshift as you slow. It feels like somebody is pushing you. Have to let it cool down until it unlocks, or Limp home mode is to disconnect electrical connector to solenoid where it goes into the trans cover.

  • that is actually not bad man, pretyy fast dude

  • very fasttt!!! nicee man!!!

  • wow, i never knew they made a z24 with a v6? thought they were all 4 bangers? shows what I know, lol

  • @fordxbgtfalcon they did it with V6 2.8 and they changed to V6 3.1 in 1990 until 1994 , in 1995 they changed the model and the engine , the 3.1 V6 was replaced with a 2.4 Twin Cam developing 150 hp and 140 or 150 ft-lb of torque , that V6 originally came with 140hp and 185 ft-lb of torque the 2.8 was the same engine as 3.1 except with a decreased stroke, i got a 1993 Cavalier Z24 5spd, with 300 000km still running good, but i dont know if i as fast as you, hard to say since my speedo is in KM

  • that bitch is gonna blow

  • i cant believe its a V6 calalier

  • Yea this brings back memories of my 94 z24 5 speed. You got to luv that torque in 1st gear! Not many econo boxes could hang with that launch. Seems like that engine was slightly underated. Also had an 88 Z with the digital dash. Fun cars to drive...

  • @nimbledagreat oh yeah i love this car and i plan to keep it for awhile because i never get sick of driving it lol

  • What still impresses me is the car's ability to pass over other cars even on an uphill road, despite its age. That v6 was not as powerful as other more modern l4s by the time, but it has a damn good torque. I know what I'm telling you since I learned to drive on a 5 speed rs v6

  • @cluless87mx Holy shit! it can pass slower cars uphill??!!! wow!!! for a v6 the power sucks. 140hp and 180tq.(45 hp per liter) a 93 maxima SE featured a 3.0L making 190hp.(63hp per liter) slightly smaller engine with 50 more hp. hell a stock 93 altima with a 2.4L makes 155hp and 160tq.(64hp per liter) For some reason GM still doesn't understand this whole Overhead Camshaft thing.... Hell by 93 even Ford had DOHC engines. Such as my DOHC 4.6 (60hp per liter)

  • @svtlincoln The secret is (or used to be) in the low range. Most newer cars need to be revved up to get a significant torque. This one had a very broad torque range attached to a 5sp manual. They made such a nice job together! Just to give you an idea, look up for "cumbres de maltrata subida" here on youtube. Only thing is most videos are by truckers and in spanish (I wish youtube existed back then). There´s a good vid by this user: "samyarturo", and another one by "pollov5" as well. Cheers!

  • nice. try not to shift so hard though. ease into it.

  • and the car are stock?

  • @boody92 yes its stock besides an aftermarket air filter which doesnt do much.

  • yeah like one or two horsepower but they sure sound cool

  • You start in the second gear or what ?

  • no i definitely started in first gear, didnt even need to hit 5th gear...

  • It's a 1994, 2.2 L, 5 spd manual. Same car as the black one i have in my favorite videos. capt mines blue and needs a little touch up. lol

  • oh well my brother had a 92 2.2 5spd and it ran a 16.6 @ 82mph with just an intake and aftermarket muffler and since yours is a 94 its got the 120hp 4 cylinder instead of the 110hp one so im guessing at the very best you might be able to hit a 16.5 or 16.4 with a good launch...

  • yea... Mines not a z24 though.. I want one, but i'm plenty happy with the cavy I have now. Not much done to it but the exhaust, a K&N filter, and NO catalytic converter (Took out the honeycomb). Sounds great though and runs like a champ. I'd have to say mine may only run high 16's. But great low end torque! =P

  • is yours a 4cyl or V6? 5spd or auto? i could tell u exactly what u would run...

  • i love these cars as well, i have not timed mine yet.... but i cant wait to and ill post it up soon... The hell with what other dorks say about cavaliers... wether there fast or not they are GREAT running cars!!!! and still quick =P

  • oh yeah i agree, this car now has 221,000 miles and its still goin! i plan on buying a nitrous kit for it for really cheap and seeing what it can do with a 50 shot since i plan on swapping in the 3400SFI V6 soon haha...

  • I have a 1994 Z24, fastest ive ever gotten it up was around 130.....

  • what do you 60' in the quarter?

  • not very good, like a 2.3 or 2.4... its capable of high 15's for sure

  • oh for sure, i get 2.2 60 ft's and i got 15.7 @86 so yours has the potential.

  • nice... what are your mods? and how many miles do you have?

  • aem cai and around 68,xxxx miles. i have a vid of my car doing a 0-100 run, but that was stock, i'll try to get an updated vid with the cai soon. going to the track again and hopefully can pull off a better time with it being winter now.

  • this car sucks major balls!

  • @SMEGALswim

just like you, you cocksucking faggot

  • te rifas

  • i owed 5 z24s in my life and have 2 still main Fact governor at 115 2.8 v6 1988 top speed 119. 1989 top speed 127 3.1 v6 1990 tru 94 top speed 132 auto 134 5speed

  • that sounds about right...

  • Bet you felt pretty bad ass huh haha

  • lol what do you mean by that?

  • Just that most people feel awesome when they are going about a buck twenty. its just a really good feeling

  • yeah too bad i have a govenor at 110 otherwise this car could almost hit 140 haha

  • i went 180 in my skyline. thats when the speedo maxes out. but i did run into a govoner:) and i was only at 5krpm and my redline is 7500.

  • I'm speechless.

  • whys that?

  • I couldn't think of any snappy insults for your slow car.

  • hey 93 v6 mustang against a 93 v6 cavalier the cavalier would win. i know. i did it. :) v6s aint gonna always have the power a v8 would have. so ofcourse his car is slow if you drive a v8. and actually on an automatic the car will go to 113 mph before the governor kicks in.

  • @MrShinerunner23 another thing that favors the Chevy over the mustang is its relative light weight. You should also consider the gear ratios vs the respective torque curve each car has. I have no clue how it is like in the mustang, but the gm´s v6 attached to that Muncie-Getrag trans. do really kick ass!

  • thats not bad. hp/torque?

  • 145hp, 190ft/ib with my little mods...its basically stock everything though...

  • okay, thanks. i've been considering buying one of these cars as a project, and modding it to around 200-250hp.

  • omg... your serious, you actually wasted your time getting track times... sad...

  • congratulations for your car !!!!! i love the power of z24's

  • thats as fast as mine is i have a 93 rs 3.1 and its pretty fast but i can take mine a lil past 110 and that ford guy is full of it i seen his video and hes not really fast go chevy

  • 7.9 seconds...out of a 3.1L...

  • It's an ancient V6 with 210,000 miles what do you want exctly?

  • lol sorry I didnt consider how old it was. At least its not the auto :)

  • @rudolphna54 My 90 Z24 had 280,000 on it when I sold it, and it'd still burn the front tires on takeoff... and it was an automatic with original engine and trans... If Chevy wants to get back in the game, they should re-make those cars

  • @rudolphna54 show the power of the lb6 v6chevrolets one of the best engine tasted for years, this engine works amazing in offroads ways too

  • my escort would stomp that and its a 1.8 4 banger non turbo with 146,000 miles

  • doubt it, i smoke escort gt's all day...

  • bull shit muy car hits 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and its a 4 banger

  • lol that was a good one...

  • dude how do you compaire that peace of trash with a Z24 and i think your watch doesn't work men sad face :( haha 5.5 seconds hahaahahahah

  • Gotta say I'd rather have my old 94 Auto Z24 3.1 than my current Escort GT 5 spd. The Cavalier has so much classic styling almost muscle car like. At least the V6 doesn't stupid when the muffler falls off. Ug take a look at my vids for an embarrassing vid of no exhaust on a 4 banger.

  • haha not a bad sounding escort... i drove my z24 with open downpipe for awhile and it seriously sounded like a V8 350 and it screamed at when i floored it lol.

  • I don't want to put a 0-120 because my clutch is gone making it sound like I can't shift lol.

  • 0 a 100 8.2 seg good

  • I miss my old z24. It was same as yours 5 speed 3.1 but mine was a 91. never could keep the horn cover in though :)

  • he cant take a honda no more. =P

  • haha yeah marc... whos prelude got beat by my cavalier again? lol

  • i have a 92 z24 auto

i'm thinkin about puttin some performance stuff in it

  • thats cool but the only problem is the 3 speed auto kills all the power, i raced one stock vs stock and beat it by a few car lengths...

  • yea i have a 3 speed auto in my 94 Cavy. that tranny definitely robs power

  • yup and even a 3.1 auto vs a 2.2 4cyl. 5speed would be a really close race...

  • yea it would!

  • It's not quite so much a loss of power as it is gearing. Obviously, the 5-speed has 2 extra gears over the 3-speed auto and has shorter gearing, allowing for better acceleration. Plus, the old 3.1's are all low-end and lack any top-end power. I used to drive a '92 Lumina base model with the 3.1 and 3-speed and it wasn't helped much that it had to hold out the gears for so long (which also meant running high up the RPM range longer than in the 5-speed, meaning a loss of power).

  • yeah deff. true... i just dont understand why GM would put a 3 speed auto in them instead of a 4 speed...

  • nice :)

  • I bet you could easily take a honda lol

  • oh yeah, all day lol

  • My Grand Prix is slower than your cavalier, 3.1l on a light body is sweet, the prix isn't that heavy, yet it needs spunk!! Nice accelaration with your car BTW.

  • @ojd1990 i think he could take a 5.0 mustang...of the same year and same miles

  • @darren107

maybe because 5.0s are slow dogs stock. But of course if you wanted to build a race cr most ppl would choose a fox over a Z24

  • @darren107 ive raced a couple stock 5.0 mustangs, one of them was a 5spd and one was an Auto but i was almost dead even with the 5spd but he got me once we got to about 85mph and i beat the Auto by a tiny bit...

  • Comment removed

  • Theres no way a 16 second car can beat a 13 second car, i've owned a 94 z24 and a 94 mustang gt with the 5.0 and the mustang kills it every which way. @MGK1992

  • I had a 91 jet black...miss that car...3.1 is a great motor...nice ride

  • nice vid I have a 94 RS wit a 3.1 nd its fast definetly gives those ricers a run for there money

  • yeah i know i can never get any ricers to race me, maybe its because they are too scared of losing haha...

  • hey, what is the rpm at 110mph

  • at 110 its at like 5,000 rpm's... the top of fourth gear is about 115 to 120mph... 5th gear goes all the way to 130 to 140mph...

  • ahh...reminds me of the old 1990 Z...powerful cars for their time! Nice vid

  • yeah i know ive won alot of races with it haha.

  • my old 1990 used to lay the smack down on those pesky little rice burners. Friggin reliable too, owned it 16 years with NO major issues.

  • Nice man, wish my Z24 was a stick, but I get to 110 too, just a hair behind you though. I've been told that these cars can do a burnout through 3rd gear with the manual gear box. Nice video and thanks for watching mine. 5 *****

  • not bad man... where did you do this at? reply back on myspace..
