I scored a 97 on my ASVAB I pretty much got all the jobs they had for the airforce military but if you score good like me dint be to excited or happy or whatever becomes it took me 7 hours to pick what job I wanted it was human intel info I am in AIT so I could tell my secret job

Will they let you enlist Even if your over weight? Or is there a certain weight you gotta be at?

@MrSicko2 I hit this issue trying to get into OTS. No, no they won't but a lot of branches (from what I understand?) give you the opportunity to drop weight and try again. On their websites, each branch offers a chart of what weight requirements are for each height. You can look there for the information on this.

@shred1514 Oh ok. Well i saw a recruiter a few days ago.. So he said im good on everything except for my weight and i have a GED. So as soon as i make the weight requirement i could take the asvab but i gotta score a 50 or higher.. He said another option is get 15 college credits and ill be considered a high school graduate and ill only have to score at least a 31 on the asvab... haha But droppin my weight shouldnt be a problem. :)

@boondockssaint21 honestly u didnt intentionally try to fail and still pass if ur talkign about the asvab cuz its multiple choice so not hard to fail or pass

@thebluemaggot they do a full body screening. Not sure if it will disqualify you , but you may need a waiver,

@evilempireee512 Thanks just finished meps today they said it wasn't a problem However apparently my hearing is total suck scored an H1 left H3e right. now I have to go see a civilian doctor about my ears and get a waiver for hearing loss. Just hope my chances are good on that wavier although at this point im kinda worrying.

@evilempireee512 Im pretty bumed about it too cause I scored higher an 85 on the asvab with 110 to 120 and one 135 on my line scores without any study aid. Could have had almost any job I wanted.

Hello all I want to ask a question and I really need a good answer quick so if anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it. I am 27 and in perfect health. I am going to meps on Monday. During my medical pre screening with my recruiter he asked a few questions about my medical history and then had me read over and sign the medical prescreening form.I completely forgot to mention to him that I have an eggcorn sized fatty tumor (lipoma) on my side that hasn't been removed. Will this DQ me?

MEPS can't be any worse than a Army "Draft Physical". I had one of those damn physicals when I was 18. The Army wanted to see if I was a candidate for Vietnam. I was horrified, like being treated like cattle taken to slaughter. The Army never got me. As later on I joined the Naval Reserve.

@kasfami as far as the military thing went. It made me think i joined the wrong branch of service.. but i didnt at the time. as far as the chargers it was whatever we bs/ed with them a little bit at the pool. they all knew where we were going. things happen.

i had to spend two wonderful days at the Milwaukee meps, i ended up having to wait for a 50 mile letter from my eventual units commander and it took a day and a half, so the next day i got to meps at 6 am along with the others, then had to sit there for the next 7 hours just waiting for a letter that was no more than a quarter page,

@parscha1986 Sounds like a guy i was with today execpt his recruiters had his paper work mixed up so he showed up at 6 and sat till 5pm. He was suppose to leave tomorrow.

@wormyrocks95 I believe so, as long as it is no longer prominent then it should not be a problem. Speak to a recruiter just to be sure.

Acne can DQ you. especially if it's on the face and shoulders. It's more the severity of the acne that is to be judged. Also some branches are stricter with it then others. Ex. Air Force is the strictest. army and navy are easy going.

@luvbites23 You have to go to MEPS to take the ASVAB that counts. The practice one is at the recruiters office.

@luvbites23 Well I was living in west TX when I first showed interest in the military and my recruiter said that the real ASVAB takes place at MEPS but that was back in 07. Maybe they changed procedure. Well good luck to you and remember that the practice one is harder than the real one.
