@MrRudeDog100 I'm not going to argue about how good the pilot in this video is as I'm sure he's very experienced, but flying such a wing isn't too difficult. I'd say flying FPV is different, but not more difficult. If anything, it's easier as you do not need to worry about the orientation.

I'm currently flying a Swift 2 wing myself and to be honest its very straightforward. I'd say even total beginners could learn to fly one pretty fast. Either way, these wings are awesome!

@PHeMoX Hi, no argument intended. All I was meaning is that I can only aspire to be that good at flying. I agree that the FVP does remove the orientation issue, as you can always be looking forward to where you are headed. I'd love to try FPV, and I'd also like to try a wing. They sound like a blast to fly!

I went to fly my Easystar today for the first time in FPV, I have the eagle eyes diversity ground station, and had eagle tree osd in the plane. My video dropped out several times and eventually for good. My plane is no where to be found, and I'm really depressed about it:( I have been working so hard, and for so long to finally fly FPV and it was a total disaster. I wrote my name and number on the plane and hopefully someone will call. I want to know more about your setup:)

@hamburgninjaanon thanks. they're a pretty unknown band from Austria and I heard the song while flying (had the radio playing in the background) and it set me in the right mood - they were cool with me using their track so I thought I'd try a "legal" soundtrack for a change :)

@Spanky2k it's about $1.2k for the plane, another $500 for the ground video stuff (goggles, receiver, antennas), and $1k for the remote control unit. I use a regular remote control with the EzUHF add-on for added range and security.

I'll definitely have to build something like this when we come to move though - preferably not under a flight path.

Actually am I right in thinking that you've set up the power system to cut power to the prop before the camera so you can see where you're going when the power runs low?

@pageygeeza exactly. there is a low voltage threshold which still gives me about 15 minutes of "glide time" with video feed and servo control, but no motor. so the landing was fully controlled.

@nastycop420 Now that's pretty ingenious!  I can't believe you can fit all that into something so small. I would imagine the video signal being sent draws a fair bit of power.

Another thing I couldn't help thinking when watching the video though: If you mess up and crash it up in the mountains, you're pretty scuppered! Maybe you could fit a gps tracker/logger or something into it if you're planning to do those kind of distances.

@pageygeeza well, I know the area pretty well so I wouldn't need GPS tracking - even though I have that in the plane :) the video transmitter actually consumes only about 2W, which is the equivalent of your TV in stand-by :) so not much at all.

What OSD are you running these days? I have eagle eyes and eagle tree OSD and Im thinking about going to Dragon OSD. Are there a lot of people having troubles with eagle tree OSD. Great video as always........
