"Why are people motivated to post comments on videos when they know that no one is really gonna read these comments?" I disagree with this idea. People post comments because they are read. YouTube, despite its flaws, does operate as a platform for self expression and often times discussion. There are countless videos that have comments that are directed to other users who have previously commented on the video, even new videos created as a response to existing ones.
I disagree with your idea that "you get some feedback through comments, ratings and number of views, but these aren't very meaningful." The number of views gives you an idea of how large an audience actually sees what you are sharing, the ratings provide a measure of whether people like or dislike what you are sharing, and comments give people a chance to voice their opinion. Comments can make pretty strong statements about your video, which is easily shown in any Ataturk video
Baxteric1, I see real progress in your videos both in technical and content. I think you are learning from this course, But will you read this comment, "no one is really going to read these comments." from the above video. Please let me know. HarOLD
You have certainly begun to perfect the illustrated YouTube lecture video form, although I may always like the Star Wars version best. Your points are careful and thoughtful; is it in the "and yet..." of youTube where things could happen: community, new forms, or need we go off?

Nicely done, Eric. I like how you blended footage of our class with YouTube clips and still images.
