  • I bourght my new TV from Argos in town wich argos are these guys from?

  • esoesoesos

  • I loved the re-make and this film too.

  • why people only care about special effects? the film is brilaint and fun fantasy, and it has a kind of innocense to it, unlike the godawful SFX laden CGI ightmare that the remake is. bad acting, bad CGI, BAD MOVIE. and that terminator salvation guy is no harry hamlin ill tel you that.

  • my favorite part of the whole movie when they drowned I DIED...... laughing that is, I know, I know, I have a dark sense of humor.

  • I dont see anything wrong with the effects and Im a filmmaker

  • posiedon has the most epic face ever when he releases the kraken

  • Awesome movie

  • @fleagaunag its from the force of the water look at a tsunami for ex.

  • The remake was total shit, total mtv pg13 pussy shit. Even Worthington himself has said he's is very disappointed with how it turned out and he was bloody terrible and miscast. The original actually felt epic and the score was superb.

  • 1:06

"Oh and Hades...remind me to *hiccup* thank the humans for this...dope substance."

  • am i the only one that thinks poseidon looks totally stoned underwater?

  • best CGI without C ever!

  • old times when city scenes was still took on planet earth

  • i dont get how solid stone walls and pillars just broke like paper to water

  • i saw the new one in 3d and i still will always prefer the old one...They took bubo out of the story , important coz when persuis dropped medusas head the owl caught it , he was like a little hero

  • 2 people from Argos disliked this

  • Such a shame because they've just released a new catalogue!

  • Apparently, Argos is still going. I've just been on their website.

  • none of you could do better effects, so shush

  • @obesehairydog Indeed, it may come as a shock to some people but things which are considered cool today will date very quickly and will seem rather silly to future generations, but as you said certain things will retain a charm all of their own.

  • @Westernwayofwar

You know, your comment is one of the smartest I have seen in a while.

You are totally right. By our CGI standards today the Kraken is far beyond primitive in its execution as far as effects go, however who's to say that 30 years from now we won't be watching everything in 3-D holograms?

I suppose then the 2010 remake will be laughed at by stupid 13 year olds who are too dumb to value story/originality and only care about effects bro!!

  • @Westernwayofwar

Btw the Kraken doesn't look all that unrealistic to me. Yes it doesn't blend seamlessly with reality but it's a movie rooted in mythology for Christ's sake! I'd rather have moments/scenes that aren't as realistic as opposed to a totally realistic-looking movie that was completely boring despite all its mindless action and had no characters one could empathize with.

The remake is a piece of shit. Even Neeson couldn't save it.

  • loooool :D that why i dont watch old movie i cant stand the stupidness

  • If this is the end of Argos, then how comes there is still one on my local high street?

  • Worst graphics evar

  • I tell you what, there is something really magical about this film, this is defo a Classic. Yeah the effects are lame, but in their day they were the best there was. I think they're fantastic for how old this film really was. Truely Epic and yes this is by far better than the remake. by MILES.

  • the special effects are just like avatar lol

  • i laugh at these type movies!!

  • 2:51 ... I swear that tree fell over earlier XP

  • 1:05 LMAO!!!!!!!!! Didn't see that coming!!

  • nice floating stones....

  • wheres the fake bird!!!!!???!

  • wow 0:04 lame he didnt look like he was in water fake

  • in 1981 the special effects in the movie would have been GOD like

  • @logandonaldson2 Actually according to people who actually saw this in 1981 they were pretty average. I thought they would have been considered good too though.

  • im gonna remake this movie again. its gonna be about gangsters. and when zues says release the kraken hes gonna say. lets get shit kraken!!!!!

  • GAWDZILLA!!!!!

  • Just saw the Kraken and I.......... 1:02

  • The Kraken (Ceto) was Poseidon's pet, the remake shouldn't have linked it with Hades.

  • I must have either missed or forgotten how that part goes because I thought that the entire kingdom was swallowed up by the sea.

  • the new one soooo wishes it was this one XD

  • Don't you just love Argos... with THE LAMINATED BOOK OF DREAMS™

  • I didn't like that Joppa wasn't part of the re-make. Acrisius was never crushed to death by Zeus, he either was hit by a discus or turned to stone by Perseus as the myth goes.

  • lmao! haha WOW FAIL.

  • FAIL tree fallin 0:51

  • @mw2ownerrocks

Nothing like the plastic CGI nonsense we put up with nowadays.

    Sorry...'innovative special effects'

  • the monster looks like godzilla

  • @baileyqwe have you even seen godzilla? You are worng. VERY wrong good sir.

  • lol those special effects

  • @noppe7 ... are fucking great!

  • i think thats better because it has more monster perseus to face than then new one.....the only things that change is the characters and the graphics......i like the new one from the side of graphics...

  • i liked both films. the old film follows the mythology but there was something about the new film that was missing in the old one. and no its not the CGI

  • @lordifan9002

Stupid pop culture references? Boring machismo? Atheist propoganda?

    Unfunny comic relief? Plot holes?

  • This is an old film.

  • I think the 2010 version is better, why do you think this one is better?

  • well for one thing, it follows the mythology much closer than the remake. honestly, where does Hollywood get this entitlement that has them believe that they can rewrite stories that are 4,000 years old. sounds a little ridiculous to me.

also, if you grew up with this movie as i did, you'd see that this story is better developed, and not about cramming as much special effects in as they can.

  • @TheNoobyz

Because people who grew up on classic films don't like new ones. No exception.

  • @BTIsaac life must suck then if you prefer this over the new Clash of the the Titans.

  • @mrAZcardinal

And why is that. My life sucks because I was not satisfied with Worthington's portrayal of a classic Greek hero? Or is it because I didn't like the ridiculous anti-theist mentality that Karl Marx himself would envy (well that DOES make me a religious nutcase, doesn't it)? Or does my life suck because I didn't like the director's idea of mixing elements of different mythology into the film (jinn anyone?)?

  • @mrAZcardinal

Related to the anti-theist mentality, there's the part where the hero chooses the action girl who accompanied him (and had nothing to do with his original story) over the princess he saved (who according to the myth became his wife), refusing to rule or become a god (as in superior to his fellow humans), and leaving a woman in charge of the city he saved as political correctness dictates. This was no remake of the original film. It was a tract about the ideal american man.

  • @BTIsaac ..what?? o_O I got halfway through and decided that you didn't mean to send that to me..?

  • @mrAZcardinal

"life must suck then if you prefer this over the new Clash of the the Titans."

This is what you said. I just told you why I prefer the classic compared to the new one. Maybe you should read both parts.

  • @BTIsaac You sent me one. yes. of why you like old crap better. But then you sent me another one about the history of ancient greeks or whatever. Which had nothing to do with me.

  • @mrAZcardinal

No, I didn't. I did not make a single post about ancient greeks and history. I was elaborating on why I didn't like the new movie, in both posts.

  • @TheNoobyz because it had a better story and stayed true to the Greek myth than the 2010 abomination. By the way, I have seen some classic films that were remade, but the remake was better. Case in point, Bedazzeled. The Brendon fraiser version was way better than the Dudley moore Version.

  • Classic! And much better than the 2010 butchery...

  • @tazbahn i agree i saw the 2010 movie and it was not like this 1 this 1 better

  • Who cares about the effects, this film is so much better than the remake.

  • @DaystarDragon Ikr! The remake should've followed the original's story line and have been partly true to the myth.

  • @DaystarDragon This version doesnt have a Cock.

  • @DaystarDragon Amen, they don't make em as good or have as good actors anymore! This film is actually a masterpiece!

  • @DaystarDragon You are right, that remake is fucked up.That director is total moron.Even I could make that movie much better. And I am european, well Czech.

  • @DaystarDragon I hate it when they take a perfectly great movie and completley fuck it up.....the remake was so bad its not funny. This one from 1981 was something i grew up with...they ruined it...

  • @DaystarDragon

Exactly! Well made for it's day

  • @DaystarDragon Never.

  • @DaystarDragon i definitely agree

  • ITS THE KRAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
