In the pathogenesis of malaria or the hemozoin deposition? CMV seroprevalence is so high that many malaria patients will be coinfected, but I have never heard of a connection between the two. Plasmodia should have no trouble infecting erythrocytes and digesting hemoglobin into hemozoin in the absence of CMV.
