  • @rawatashwin666 LOL at "1.have a job" SO TRUE

  • ナンバ = girl hunting thanks.......lol

  • ガソパイ

  • lol at that hella awkward moment at the end

  • This seemed to be a.... very awkward conversation.

  • noisy rustling of clothes

  • As much as i'd like that kind of GF, (relationship-wise anyway) I am unsure of my orientation as sometimes i feel quite asexual? But im still straight? If that makes sense...

  • Having hair probably helps.

  • Holy crap why didn't I watch this earlier!!? Before saying to my friend that he's kawaii >.<

  • @AnotherAccount5 Don't listen to this video, it doesn't reflect the real life, people say their cute to each other all the time, it's not a flirting only thing, such videos infuriates me seriously, you can't summarize life in a few minutes.

Judging by what is said in this video a "flirting" conversation would be...

Stopping a random girl or guy on the street, you say, kawaii, she says kakkoii, you say asobi ni iku, she says un, dou shimasho, hello, this is not real life, it's a video game ...

  • Thanks for putting this video together. I am trying to improve my Japanese, not to pick-up girls, but to know when to say something, what to say & when to remain silent. One tip I like is not to always speak Japanese otherwise people presume you know a lot. So sometimes I just prefer to be a non Nihon Go speaking gaigin. If that makes sense.

  • She's very much kawaii, but the guy sucks XD

  • hahaha at the end; I was not expecting all those links.

  • This guy is so fucking boring. I don't like how he can't pronounce Japanese properly. I mean, just fucking copy what she is saying. Even I can do it and I don't speak Japanese

  • She basically gives tips on how to be "those thugs" who try to pick up girls in most animes and then the protagonist comes and saves them.

  • Hey, this girl is hot!

  • this guy is so gonna make the classic kawaii vs kowai mistake :P

  • Or pritty

  • Isn't kire beautiful?

  • @myanime1011 yes, きれい (kirei) is beautiful or pretty

  • @myanime1011 Kirei means "pretty".

  • ouch, he needs to work on his pronunciation..

  • @ArtHouseQueen So japan is just like every other country ^^

  • gadam tyler thats the alien model-4 type of skull with in built laser sight you are wearing

  • kakkoi assibiniku!!!!!

  • why is this so awkward?

  • this is embarrassing to watch

  • beautiful video

  • @markshiftplusone

    Haha, good points

  • They Forgott to mention Daisuki D:!

  • @xXxIIIShadowIIIxXx Well daisuki means both "like" and "love", so the shortened "suki" is less meaningful I guess. Imagine confessing your love to a stranger haha

  • i like how they akwardly stand there for a few seconds at the end LMAO ^_^

  • This video is dedicated to all those inflicted with yellow fever

  • Respectfully, this is video is not about how to flirt in Japanese... This video is more about vocabulary.

If I may offer some friendly tips on what you need to know about flirting with a Japanese girl:

    1. Have a job

    2. Have a car

    3. Keep your extensive manga collection a secret

    4. Do not try and impress her with your deep knowledge of anime titles and story lines

    5. Unlike American girls, being polite, respectful and funny will get you farther than being playfully sarcastic and funny.

  • @markshiftplusone I'm pretty sure women's personalities are different all over

  • @markshiftplusone So I need a car to get a girlfriend ? Then I'll be single for the rest of my life because I don't have a car nor do I want one, ever.

Hmm I should buy one and just to say have one ?

Of course I'm kidding, I just wanna show you how redundant your comment is.

My tip for everyone, be yourself, life is not black and white there aren't rules for flirting, or dating, you don't even have to flirt in the firstplace, just be yourself and stop listening to such videos/comments.

  • orgasm ;) sorry for the failure

  • hiku or how to be write : this is like when a you come ti organsm ;)

  • kakaoi is like the word yaoi (gay hentai )

  • @CUBETechie Do you mean "kakkoii".. Because that means cool. Which is a big compliment to a guy.

  • 3:54 epic fail

  • @ArtHouseQueen bullshit. go to japan and check it out

  • Kakkoii means cool, not cute. Wtf?

"Asobi ni ikimasen ka" = wanna go play together? o.o

    She's hot. ._.

  • @ArtHouseQueen Girls don't need to flirt...

  • pfff lame

  • in English we might say, do you like coffee?

  • one time i talk to a japanese girl i meet in the airport she said to me "I NO SPEKA ANY INRESU ME NO GOODA TOKING INGRESU"

  • 3:57-4:08 most awkward moments i've ever seen

  • "girls never reject you directly" catching the next flight to japan :D

  • ga emphasizes the subject of the sentence

  • Tyler is obnoxious and I'd never go out with him

  • @victoriaisntsosecret When I was taking my first semester of Japanese, I was taught that the particle "ga" is used with non-action. But it was never explained fully. The only other time we went over "ga" is to express the location of a non moving location such as department store but even then it had to be used in conjunction with arimasu (non living thing) and imasu (living/people).

ex. Asoko ni depaato ga arimasu.

  • @LovelyRosemarie

I think you got it a bit wrong there. "Ga" has nothing to do with actions vs non-actions or location. When you are talking about location, you are probably refering to "ni", which is the destination/location particle.

"Ga" is the subject particle. It marks the subject of the sentence.

Have a look at this sentence:

    "I went to school yesterday."

Who went to school? "I" did. So "I" am the subject of the sentence. In Japanese, you use "ga" to mark the subject of a sentence.

  • @TheCrazyStudent ga is actually not for the seuject, trust me im studying japanese, and the subject is marked by "wa" (hiragana for "ha" is used, but pronounced wa" so it would be "watashi wa" if you say "watashi ga" you mark yourself (watashi = i) as OBJECT! clear? "ga" is for the main Object of a sentence, so dont go and talk something you thought you learned by wtching anime, kay?

  • @JapaneseHeavymetal

I find your post very amusing. With no info to back you up whatsoever, you just blindly assume that I have learned my grammar from watching anime? Dude, that's hilarious! I don't even like anime, so I barely ever watch it! I have basically studied Japanese grammar since the first day I started with the language. And I'm always using reliable resources in my studies.

But I don't mind if you want to learn grammar the wrong way. Be my guest. Hope you'll have fun. :)

  • @LovelyRosemarie i think you're mistaking that for transitive and intransitive verbs...

  • What is "ga" a particle for?

  • @victoriaisntsosecret the "ga" particle is used just like the "wa" particle. it is used to mark the subject. but there is also a little bit difrence in them and when to use which one. for example--> watashi wa suzuki desu (i am suzuki) it could also be--> watashi ga suzuki desu it has the same meaning.... but there is also a difference.... i can't explain properly coz even i am still learning Japanese... and i am still struggling with the uses of these two particles.....

  • @victoriaisntsosecret

"ga" is the subject particle. It points out the subject of the sentence. Not to be confused with "wa", which is the topic particle.

  • @TheCrazyStudent japanese people tend to knock the beginning off a sentence so this whole sentence would be watashi wa anata (eek rude! sorry!) ga suki desu. because you're not saying the subject in this sentace it's assumed to be you. ga is marking who or what you like so as Japaneseheavymetal says, it's marking the object (of your desires lol).

  • @venusstardust

If ga is marking the object, then let me ask you: What is wo (を) marking? :P

In the sentence "Watashi wa anata ga suki desu", where is the actual subject? You may think it's "watashi", but it's actually "anata". The sentence translates to "As for me, you are likeable." "Watashi" has no verb linked to it here, so it cannot be a subject. "Anata" has a whole predicate connected to it, which makes it a subject. Limited character input here, but google it if you really wanna know.

  • @TheCrazyStudent ga is used with certain verbs as an object marker. hoshii is another verb that uses ga instead of wo. google it if you really wanna know

  • @venusstardust

"Hoshii is another verb that uses ga"?

As it so happens to be (check the dictionary to confirm it), "hoshii" is not even a verb at all. "Hoshii" is an adjective (an 'i-adjective').

Kuruma ga hoshii desu = (a) car is wished for (The car is taking the action of being wished for = subject)

In English the natural way would be "I want a car". In English, the same thing is expressed by using the verb "want". Different languages work differently, and that is important to understand.

  • Comment removed

  • @venusstardust

It matters bigtime wheter "hoshii" is a verb or an adjective, because adjectives can not have objects connected to them, but verbs can. This proves that in the sentence "Kuruma ga hoshii desu", "kuruma" is the subject, "hoshii" is an adjective and "desu" is the copular verb. (In Japanese: "A car is wished for / wanted for") I just wanted to try to clear some things up. It's up to you what you want to do with this info.

  • @TheCrazyStudent dude i'm really sorry but you're teaching your grandmother to suck eggs right now. I can speak Japanese, I don't teach it, i don't ever intend to. Maybe you should spend your time replying to the messages that want help. I have no interest in Japanese grammar spoken in English

  • こんにちは、 どうですかな?

  • i am so going to wach asian porn live because of this vid ^^

  • gosh i need to flirt cos there so hot in japan AHHH :)

  • Asobi ni iku haha cool. lol the lady in this video is beautiful :P she looks like a formal, traditional girl. thanks for the lesson.

  • i don't think japanese women like bald men...xD sry, i just had to xDD

  • well who is really giving Japanese lessons? breaking down the words or frases seem complicated

  • its pronounced kah-Y-E. it means cute. anata ga kawaii desuk<pronounced like desk. means you are cute.

  • the guy was saying kowaii instead of kawaii which means scary not cute. XD pronounce better buddy or you'll be making some unfortunate girl cry or laugh in your face.

  • @Wraith10 actually kowagaru is more formal way to say something is scary

if you try to say kowaii to someone who speaks Japanese they probably wont

    understand what you are saying

or maybe she will correct you and think you are kawaii for trying

  • @Vonii27 while the first part is true, they will understand what you say. I lived there for 1 year and I NEVER heard any 20somethings person say kowagaru. kowai(I misspelled it) is used all the time and easily understood for what it is. even by many foreigners.

  • @Wraith10 oh really?

i live in sasebo japan it will be one year in japan on oct 25th

i never here people say "kowai" when talking about something scary

although you are right some people say it but its slang

i just asked my gf fanoka she knew what it meant

from my experience its still better to be formal when speaking in Japanese because foreigners have accents

  • @Vonii27 ahh I see. I lived in Tokyo during my stay and there can be massive differences in typical speech used just by traveling a few hundred miles in any direction. I'm sure where you're living speech patterns are much different than where I was living. Interesting. I'll be sure to use "kowagaru" and any other more formal speech if I'm ever in that area of Japan.

  • Could you please write the sentence of how to ask someone on a date..asukuniku? Thanks

  • ubaki des?

  • kawaii..kawaii..

    this is helpful.. arigatoo-gozaimasu

  • "I like you. You're cute. Would you like to go on a date?"

Is that flirting? It sounds like a drunk Frankenstein's monster trying to sexually harass someone in a bar.

  • @ReliableInsider Is it not "Would you like to play?" lol

  • @ReliableInsider

    nerd style?

  • @zhen86

If a woman approached me and used a line like 'I like you. You're cute. Would you like to go on a date?' . . .

    I would probably say yes.

  • @ReliableInsider that's how the japanese do it.hahaha!!!

  • If people don't want to watch the 'How To' videos . . .

why don't they just skip them?
