Very sad. I saw him 2 weeks before his last King crab season at Tulalip casino. I played poker with him for an hour (both of us must have had ten beers in that time.) In that time we shared a few fishing stories, and both won some money. We defiantly gelled well both being third generation commerical fishermen on the westcoast, and Phil just being such a likeable guy. RIP man,

great stereo-the bleep. / need more crowd shots. this was so right on about phil, everything. but with the way people were dressed, it was 'traditional' but i can understand why they were FREEZING, when it is freezing forget traditional formal wear...the music, i can understand. kinda uncommon for memorials, but they missed PINK FLOYD and GRAND FUNK RAILROAD "CLOSE TO HOME" they needed microphones for the crowd, listen to them laugh. WE MISS PHIL but the chemestry will go on!!! R.I.P. PHIL!!!

My girlfriend and i went to this memorial in seattle. I never got to meet him,but he was always my favorite captain on the show.I knew he was popular on the show,but i really had no idea just how popular until i went to this memorial.People from all over the world were there.several people with tribute tattoos.It was really over whelming.He really will be missed.R.I.P.captain phil,you truely will be missed
