It seems that some religious people are going through inner struggles with this song... I don't know what the writers intent was...but there's no rule that says you cant interpret it your own way ... So I really don't think God is sadistic but at times I have been on my knees weeping & accusing him of such. I think its a teaching mechanism for God not to intervene. The more I learned quickly the more necessity it was for me to have a memory lapse to blend. Its hard to learn things aren't the way they appear. Its a trial to be stuck between worlds as if alive yet in purgetory. Its almost worse to have amnesia & no longer have all your powers & have to re-learn with the fear you don't have what you once did.
