Music attracts people for many different reasons. While to me, a band like Otep is a "total package" of sorts. In addition to being lyrically beautiful, every band member demonstrates a mastery of their musical instrument. However, other people may have been introduced to Otep through much harder songs than this, so as Otep changes their tone, these fans may be put off. I am a fan even of Otep's spoken word, but my best friend won't listen to something he can't thrash to :)
