pro wrestlers are not actors, but they are not really wrestlers either. They are stuntmen, they follow a scenario and try to do it safeley, but what they do is dangerous and painful.

The word "fake" is misused when describing wrestling. Yeah it's staged and the endings are pre determined, but the rest is up to the wrestlers, and the injures and the pain are real, you can't fake a body slam. Im an hardcore MMA fan (i have actually been doing MMA before it hit mainstream /hipster) and i agree. The moves done are made up on the spot with the occasional one that was practiced for saftey/entertainment reasons. I would have backyard wrestling matches my friends. we built a real ring with real ropes and spent a couple of hours rehearsing certain events but used improve for most of it.

Moves they do can hurt if not done properly, but they've been trained to do them and take them right. If they get found out they get fined, but sometimes the wrestlers cut themselves with blades hidden in their gear. Doesn't happen often, but it does still happen.

@rasnac you can´t say that a pro wrestler is a stuntmen. Stuntmen learn how to do a very dangerous stunt, but they can´t show the emotion, show the "pain" and show the aggression. Pro wrestlers are sportsmen and actors. Not any dumb stuntmen or bodybuilder can be a pro wrestler.

The word "fake" is misused when describing wrestling. Yeah it's staged and the endings are pre determined, but the rest is up to the wrestlers, and the injures and the pain are real, you can't fake a body slam. Pro Wrestlers are athletes, anyone who suggest otherwise don't know what they are talking about (MMA fans)

Im an hardcore MMA fan (i have actually been doing MMA before it hit mainstream /hipster) and i agree. The moves done are made up on the spot with the occasional one that was practiced for saftey/entertainment reasons. I would have backyard wrestling matches my friends. we built a real ring with real ropes and spent a couple of hours rehearsing certain events but used improve for most of it.

@nsm54 Nah, the majority of injuries are real. Some are scripted as a storyline, but most are in fact real. Moves they do can hurt if not done properly, but they've been trained to do them and take them right. If they get found out they get fined, but sometimes the wrestlers cut themselves with blades hidden in their gear. Doesn't happen often, but it does still happen.
